Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 73 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, citing issues such as unhelpful staff, constant delays, and conflicting information. People frequently encountered problems with products, including receiving defective or broken items, and found the resolution process to be slow and frustrating. Though some people were satisfied with the staff, describing them as knowledgeable and helpful, a minority of people were dissatisfied with the product recommendations and the perceived lack of product knowledge from some employees. Additionally, while some found the prices to be fair, others felt that the overall lack of service made any potential savings not worthwhile.

STRICTLY Collect Only.

Tried to purchase an item through their online store at Maribyrnong Victoria. However this is a STRICTLY Collect only facility due to "security restrictions".

As I live in Queensland it is difficult for me to go into the store and collect the item.

I even offered to organise a courier to collect the item for me and deliver it, but this too is against their policies.

It seems to me that the store at Maribyrnong only caters to locals and simply refuse to sell their goods to any consumers that have no means of collecting the goods.

Warranty return what a joke

Warranty return, faulty item, the first thing they will attempt is to blame you! Be very careful and do not buy from them (absolute last resort).

One Stop computer shop for all your computer needs

Me and my son went to centercom looking for a computer for our simulator. When we walked into the shop we were greeted by a staff member named Sandeep. I am so glad we stumbled across him as he was super knowledgeable about what PC we needed to run three screen setup and what graphics card would be the minimum requirement for our application centercom has a very loyal and knowledgeable staff member keep up the great work sandeep and if I need any future computer needs our surely come to see you.

Centre com Store policy restrictive !

I purchased a Montech king 95 pro black pc case from centre com, after receiving it I changed my mind. I then reordered from them again a white case as I did not want the black case I ordered, they refused to refund change of mind purchases, even if the product is new in the box, and no store credit either. Very inflexible business to deal with, after many thousands of dollars spent there over many years they won’t see another cent from me. I build pc’s on a daily basis and wont be buying from centrecom as first choice anymore.

Customer service does not appear to…

EDIT: After this interaction and publishing this review, Centre Com customer service decided they were able to intercept the order at shipping and processed a refund, allowing me to repurchase. Revising from 1 star to 3 stars, reflecting the appropriate, if delayed, resolution.

Original:
Customer service does not appear to exist at Centre Com.

I purchased an item but failed to enter a coupon code during checkout. I realised immediately after and sent a request to amend the order.

The response was that the order was already shipped and they are unable to apply the promotion or return the product. This despite the fact that shipment tracking shows it had not yet left their facility.

Please be aware when considering purchases from Centre Com. Their returns policies are highly restrictive - the minimum required by consumer law, and they will hide behind them and not provide any customer service.

I ordered a custom-built PC from Center Com, but the process was frustrating. It took over four weeks to receive my system, and communication throughout was poor. Many components were out of stock, and I had to settle for lower-quality alternatives. If you're looking for a reliable custom build, I wouldn’t recommend Center Com based on my experience.

No Retruns accepted

Please ensure that you are completely certain before purchasing any item from this store. Australian consumer law does not mandate a change-of-mind return policy (for when you no longer want the item). However, 99% of retail shops in Australia offer this option to build trust with consumers. This shop falls within the 1% of retailers who prefer one-off sales. I have concerns about their warranty returns too.

Never buy from these people

I purchased a laptop from these guys. I had one single, critical criteria- must work with Dell docks. The sales guys said it did but when I got home, I found not only it didn't but unless you have windows laptop or Intel chipset, which thisvone did not, your laptop won't run on Dell dock...something I would have thought these people should know. I called their customer line and was told to take it back to exchange, however; the customer disservice person hadn't actually put anything through about our conversation, the sales guy lied and said i never asked about the one thing I need to use this at work and I am now stuck with an Asus brick because apparently I changed my mind. These people are dishonest and disrespectful, and I will never purchase from them again. I had to purchase another laptop because I still needed something for work but went elsewhere to spend my $5000 plus on the MSI AMG whi h works a dream, money they could have had given I still needed a laptop. Disrespectful, arrogant bunch of buffoons who actually don't know what their selling or much about technology. On top of it, they make customer feel demeaned. I never asked for a refund, I needed a laptop which I found somewhere else at a great price, but more importantly with great service. Don't waste your money, try Scorptec instead, they are knowledgeable, respectful, and stand behind their products. I have made sure to share this at my University to help staff and students avoid the pitfalls of dealing with this mob...should rename their business to centre con

Ripped off

I ordered a monitor. It was delivered in an unsaleable state, as it had no power supply. After a lot of to and fro and wasted time, Centrecom declined to provide the missing part, and asked me to return the monitor.

They have charged me for the shipping, as though I changed my mind. I made no error, they made a mistake. They should refund what I paid in full. (Or find the part they lost.) Why should I pay the cost of their incompetence?

My experience with Centre Com over a…

My experience with Centre Com over a faulty Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor, purchased on December 26, 2024, was utterly deplorable. For four months, this company held my time and money hostage during a warranty claim that should have been resolved swiftly, showing a blatant lack of respect for the time and energy I invested in chasing a solution. I reported the monitor’s persistent flickering and text-blurring issues on January 20, 2025, with clear evidence (videos and troubleshooting steps), yet I was kept in limbo until a refund was finally confirmed on April 8, 2025. Despite my repeated follow-ups (e.g., March 3, March 15, March 24), their customer service team provided sluggish and evasive responses, hiding behind vague excuses about manufacturer delays that stretched far beyond their own 2–3 week estimate (March 17 email). In 2025, it’s unacceptable that a retailer doesn’t immediately offer a refund or exchange for a proven faulty product—instead, they left me without a monitor or my funds for nearly four months, crippling my productivity. Even after a phone escalation on April 7, the process remained painfully slow. Adding insult to injury, Centre Com imposes an $8.17 surcharge for PayPal checkout, yet their customer service team shamefully excluded this amount from my refund, further eroding trust. While they eventually facilitated the refund, Centre Com’s approach of tying up customers’ resources in uncertain manufacturer processing times and nickel-and-diming on surcharges is inexcusable and reflects a severe lapse in service. I warn others not to trust their customer service—they consistently failed to deliver on promises and left me stranded. This ordeal has shattered my confidence in their reliability.

I recently purchased a keyboard from the Clayton store, the keyboard I purchased was, from my point of view, a discounted section for returned and opened goods. The staff in the store, when asked if these items were discounted assured me they were working and complete. I have just tried to use the keyboard and it is completely non functional as well as being an incomplete product. This means that when the item was returned by a customer, it's functionality wasn't checked and this was put back out for sale. Additionally, I have found out that I was charged full price for this product. This isn't the first time I have had bad experiences with CenterCom and I will most likely be shopping at your competitors from now on.

Unnecessary hoops for online!

These guys want customers to jump through hoops in order to do online purchases!

Don't know why they want details like driver's licence, or other financial information, when I can just buy stuff from somewhere else without giving that kind of info?
Nevermind that nobody is there to interact online over the weekend, while the brick and mortar stores are open?

Poor and costly customer service

After two long trips from country Vic to the store I eventually got my monitors which were not in stock as indicated nor held for collection as promised.
When one failed early with a panel fault I had to return again to the store only to find that they would not refund or replace an obviously faulty item and that I must return again in two or so weeks.
It would have been cheaper to bin the faulty unit and get one delivered for a similar cost from Amazon.
I'd suggest that Centre Com should invest in systems and training that focus on providing a basic level of customer service.

Please do NOT order from these people

Please do NOT order from these people, there are so many better retailers.

These guys gave me a defected monitor, accepted it back and refunded my money WITHOUT the shipping reimbursed, on TOP of which I don't even have a monitor because they don't have stock.

They also do not mention this in their terms and conditions or warranty.

Whatever you do, don't order from these guys, The $35 they owe me will be reflected by people not buying from these 'people'.

I used to think Centrecom was a good company until my recent experience purchasing an SSD online.

I purchased a Crucial P3 Plus 1TB drive only to realise a day later it had no VRAM. When I asked if I could exchange the Unopened item for a Samsung 970 Plus which was $50 more expensive I received the following response.

"Apologies for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, we are no longer accepting change-of-mind returns or refunds. Since your order has already been invoiced and is in transit, we are unable to offer a replacement at this stage.

We recommend reviewing the specifications carefully for future purchases to ensure they meet your requirements.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to assist. "

When responding with my consumer rights
1. Consumer Rights (Refunds, Replacements & Repairs)

Retailers must provide a refund, replacement, or repair if a product is:

• Faulty (has a defect, is unsafe, or doesn’t work as expected).

• Not as described (e.g., different from the listing or packaging).

• Fails to meet acceptable quality (durability, safety, and performance).

• Not fit for purpose (doesn’t do what it’s meant to do).

I received the following

"Thank you for contacting Centre Com Warranty and for bringing this matter onto our attention.

As discussed by our Customer Support Team, any returns that is outside the unit being faulty falls on this category.

Change of mind returns are not available as per our updated return policy. This aligns with Australian Consumer Law, which specifies that retailers are not obligated to provide a refund or replacement for change of mind situations.

I want to assure you that Centre Com’s warranty policies are established to ensure consistency and fairness for all customers. While we strive to accommodate our customers to the best of our ability, we must also adhere to our policies to maintain integrity and consistency in our operations."

Won't let me give a minus star result

Won't let me give a minus star result! Laptop bought and within 4 months the hinge broke after using it as the intended hybrid tablet TWICE! Hinge snapped. We're told that MSI get to decide whether this is our fault and ignore consumer law, apparently MSI decide this. We were shouted at aggressively in the store by Craig L (Adelaide branch) and told he had already decided it must be our fault! Last laptop lasted 11 years, so clearly not heavy handed and also someone who just spent $1200 on the item and treated it with kid gloves. Fully intending to take this further. AVOID
