I ordered a custom-built PC from Center Com, but the process was frustrating. It took over four weeks to receive my system, and communication throughout was poor. Many components were out of stock, an... See more

Terrible company
Recieved a faulty motherboard. I contacted their customer support only to get accused of mishandling the goods and was refused a refund. Would never use again, terrible service.
Avoid like the plague!!!
Avoid like the plague!!!
Does not accept returns for change of mind or if item is not compatible.
In my case the item's description was inacurate, so they say incorrect purchase - no return even for a credit on a new dual monitor adapter. Zero stars - Reap what you sow, fools
Cancelled due to being charged for…
Cancelled due to being charged for postage after getting membership (Supposed to be free shipping for members)
Didn't get my refund or acknowlegement email after first email.
Never buying via these dodgy so & so's again.
There's a reason why they have low stars from lots of people, learn from our dealings with these crooks
Untrustworthy and terrible service
You can find some good deals from time to time, but if something goes wrong, you can count on terrible customer service and losing your money. Bought a 3k gaming laptop for my wife last year, an Aorus 17. Can never get it to run for more than a month without seemingly random issue happening. Mouse pad stopped working, keyboard stopped working, screen brightness locked at the lowest settings, etc. Basically unusable without external keyboard and monitor, which defeats the purpose of buying a laptop. Sent them video recording of all the problem. They fixed it the first 2 times, but when I told them I don't want to deal with it anymore and wanted a refund, they approved it then told me the return approved was only to send the device back for technical assessment. Then claimed that they cannot replicate the problem despite their technical staff told me they fixed it. When I asked for a concrete plan of action on what are they going to do when the issue started occurring for the third time and to not give me vague bullshit, they simply shut down the conversation. Virgil Umipig is the worst customer service person you can ever hope to get despite claiming that he has years of experience. Total lowlife who will accuse you of being insincere customer and discredit video recording of issues.
V v gis to us
I don’t understand why they’re only three stars. They’re great with us. We always seem to be needing something late in the day and they always wait. They are very knowledgeable which is brilliant, and so helpful. Great guys! Better than the silly ultra commercial shops that you can get stuff from - and no one helps you or knows what they’re talking about. These guys always know what you need and explain why. Brilliant service and friendly too!
AVOID CENTRECOM, THEY DON’T ACCEPT RETURNS!!!!!
The one and only computer retailer in Australia that doesn’t accept change of mind returns.
I used the item for just days until it doesn’t fulfill my expectations. YES IT IS MY FAULT for buying it, however, in the website itself before purchase, it never show any disclaimer or note that returns are not accepted. Even at the refund page, it does not tell anything relating to not allowing change of minds returns, as it is only stated in the Terms & Conditions tab, not anywhere else.
Customer service took days to respond. Would go for better retailers such as JW, Scorptec, etc.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS RETAILER. JUST BUY FROM OTHER RETAILERS!
WARNING
WARNING - DO NOT use this company. They are basically a SCAM! They will NOT refund and they ignore you when trying to deal with a problem. They do not treat costumers well! AVOID this company - look at their poor reviews - speaks volumes!!!!!
I should have done my due dilligance…
I should have done my due dilligance and come to here first to see the poor reviews for "CENTRE COM" so that I did not waste $300 on this disgraceful business.
No Returns accepted, and I'm pretty sure when I was trying to access a replacement or return my emails were being answered by a BOT!
Just go else where, don't waste your money on them, they have no CUSTOMER service, ethics or loyalty.
Unreliable click and collect ETA
I needed a webcam. I saw the item on their website and saw that it was available for click and collect, and it would take 2-3 business days before I can go to the store in Clayton. I placed the order on the 29/7 and waited until 1/8 to email just to ask for an update. That is when I was told that it was now going to take 2-4 business days for my item to arrive because it was out of stock. Its been almost a week since I heard from them. Bad experience with this company and very misleading ETA of their items and then suddenly changing the availability of the item online after paying for it. My first and last time dealing with this company.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Bought Graphics card DOA. Took Computer in. I wanted card replaced not my computer checked. Had I was told of cost, I would not have brought computer in, instead I would of given them only the card. Charged $110, made huge fuss as they were going to charge $195. All for a faulty card that is still yet to be replaced. Days of lies and inconviences. Lack of transparency. which in the end was sent back to their warehouse, now their warehouse has to check for it being faulty, where their technicians confirmed it to be in the first place at the branch. Double handling. I have never heard of such daylight robbery before. If you purchase a good that is faulty within that week it should be instant replacement with no cost. Stay away from them all.
You'll regret spending money and time here.
Scammy business. Do yourself the biggest favour and never give them money, you will regret it. I'm getting conflicting communications about a $4200 purchase whilst simultaneously no progress is happening towards my order. Feels like a scam at this point. Multiple queries are pending, 2 complaints are pending any response or acknowledgement. Just ghosted since i hit the pay button.
Absolutely Appalling Experience – Still No Refund After False Assurances
I’m beyond disappointed and frustrated with the disgraceful service from center.com.au. It has now been well over 5 business days, and my refund has still not been processed. I was assured multiple times — both via email and phone — that it would be sorted "immediately" or "within 24–48 hours." Every time, it was just empty words and no real action.
False promises. No accountability. No follow-up. Just delay after delay.
I’ve spent countless hours chasing this up, only to be met with the same generic replies and robotic apologies. I’ve never dealt with a company that treats its customers’ time and money with such blatant disregard. This isn’t just poor customer service — it’s dishonest and emotionally draining. I trusted your process, and instead, I’ve been left feeling ignored, deceived, and angry.
You’ve lost my trust, my patience, and, most importantly, my future business. I will be warning everyone I can — through every platform possible — to stay far away from center.com.au unless they want to be treated with the same indifference and frustration.
Cowboys...hit them with chargebacks
Bought a box standard PC for TV, videos and streaming. It went kaput after 3 months of light use with blue screen errors. Contacted Centrecom and they are useless. I have told them I want a refund as per my statutory rights. They keep saying they cannot do this (which is illegal) and do not seem interested in providing a remedy. They will happily let you sit for days and weeks without a working computer. Given all the terrible reviews about them I have contacted my cardholder and they have initiated a chargeback. This is the only way to protect your consumer rights and get a satisfactory and timely resolution. Given the hundreds of reviews regarding issues with faulty goods and lack of refunds, it seems that these cowboys ignore your consumer rights under Australian law.
Everyone needs to do this. Initiate a chargeback with their bank if they are not dealing with issues in a timely way and refusing a refund on damged non working items. You have the right to a refund and the right to do a chargeback if your statutory rights are being ignored. Hit them where it hurts as they get slugged with penalties regardless of the outcome. Maybe they'll sort there Kafkaesque utterly dreadful customer service and treat people fairly. It interesting that every other store I have dealt with will take faulty items back, no dramas. Centrecom are a disgrace. I won't be returning ever again.
Very Slow shipping - Suggest AVOID
I ordered a bunch of gear online a week ago. All the items were listed "in stock" . My order is still listed as "Processing"
I contacted them asking when it will ship 4 days ago, they say they are "finalizing" some items... It STILL hasn't shipped. I suggest you order from other suppliers like JW computers, Scorptec etc who reliably ship next day...
Avoid - they sent me a damaged item and have refused a refund
Incredibly frustrating experience. I've lost almost a thousand dollars with these clowns.
They sent me a damaged monitor - when I opened the box, there was a crack running through it which made the screen unusuable (it turns on, but a quarter of the screen is black with a crack in it).
Customer service has refused to replace it and has generally been evasive and incredibly difficult. They initially attempted to deny the claim (calling it 'customer damage'), before any investigation. They have yet to explain how I managed to damage the item in a sealed box. They take days at a time to respond to each email, each time asking for new and increasing irrelevant information (for example, they couldn't assess the claim based on photographs - they made me send through a video showing the defective screen - which wasted more of my time). The whole process seems to be intended to be frustrating and cause you to give up.
I don't know if the website is a scam (the item I was sent was the same item that I ordered - it was just broken). However, this appears to be a similar experience that others are having - receiving defective/broken or previously returned goods marketed as new. This may explain why the goods were cheaper than other places I found online - however, I really regret choosing them.
Would suggest steering clear.
Do not waste your time and money here
Do not waste your time and money here. I bought a laptop from them advertising a 14 hour battery life, but it really only gives 4 hours for basic scrolling. I then contacted online help as I purchased this online, who then offered me a return. I then had to take it to the store, but as I arrived and said i was dropping my laptop back for a return as discussed online, I was looked at like i just swore at them, and was made to wait for the manager. I then had to stand in line while 7 other customers were served, only for the manager to tell me he doesn't care I have a ticket number and wanted me to go through everything again and when I refused, he took my phone and read through my emails with the online team. WHY NOT LOOK UP THE TICKET NUMBER? He then decided I needed to go through it all again anyways, despite not using a ticket number, and reading all my emails. THEN after I explained everything again, HE ASKED ME FOR THE TICKET NUMBER? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I was then told I needed to wait to have my laptop assessed. Its now been 3 weeks with out a laptop so I contacted the online guy again who dismissed me and told me to call a number and quote a reference, which I did, only to be told I should not have been given that number as they are not centrecom but a contracted company and I need to go direct through centrecom.
Obviously at this point i made a complaint that went un answered for 3 days, so when i again contacted complaints, and they finally got in touch, they let me know, THEY HAVE SENT THE LAPTOP BACK VIA EXPRESS POST TO AN ADRESS I DO NOT LIVE AT?!!
It has been 4 weeks since I was told I was getting a return, and I am still with out a computer, no idea when I will again, and they are refusing to give me the return I was promised on June 9th.
Disregards Australian Consumer Law
Disregards Australian Consumer Law, be wary.
Bought a laptop from Centre Com last year. Unfortunately, after around 10 months the device encountered a major fault. After three attempted repairs by Centre Com, they have failed to fix the device (after 3 failed repair attempts), and have not offered any remedy. Fault has been displayed to staff in store, to which they agree the device is not functional, however upper management/store policy is preventing them from helping. At this point, I have contacted Consumer Affairs Victoria, as this is clearly the only way to get this company to follow Australian Consumer Law. Clear violation of Section 260 of the ACL.
Missing dongle …. Deliberately complicated process
Purchased a logi keyboard and mouse and no dongle was in the box. Contacted centre.com immediately, whilst they were responsive they clearly wanted to make the process complicated so as I just gave up …. which I did. I went an bought a generic dongle from JB and when I told them the story they gave me 20% off they also said that it is so uncommon for dongles to “miss” the packing process
Ordered a Edifier Stax Spirit S5 from…
Ordered a Edifier Stax Spirit S5 from them, it came with a squeaky hinge
The technicians didn't even attempt to try test to for longer than 10 seconds, Made a snide remark about my hearing, has taken over a month for them to repair, replace or refund, Which even know its taking a stupidly long time they have not even seeked to contact me a single time all contacts have been made by me, I have no idea where my headset is, or what will be the result.
Shame on you, don't buy from Centre Com!
I bought $479 Edifier Stax Spirit S5 headphones a month ago. The order was never added to my account it's like I never bought it! They also said I would receive a gift 256GB SD card, never sent or received, also not showing in account.
This is the 2nd time these people are causing trouble. They would not refund 1 of the 2 motherboards I bought in-store after realizing first board was PCI-X 4.0 and not 5.0. I will never recommend this shop to people again. Customer support they don't reply! Shame on you. Buying from Scorptec from now on.
