I would strongly caution anyone…

I would strongly caution anyone considering using Carvana based on my experience.
What started as an exciting and convenient vehicle purchase turned into a MONTH-LONG nightmare filled with stress, confusion, misinformation, and constant follow-up on my end.
The original vehicle I received had significant undisclosed cosmetic/body damage that was not properly represented in the listing photos or condition report. After obtaining a professional repair estimate in excess of $3,000, I attempted to work through the exchange process with Carvana — and that’s when things became even worse. Do NOT believe anything the associate tells you. They flat-out lie about Carvana fixing the undisclosed damage to get you to drive away with the car.
Throughout the process I experienced:
• Constantly changing information from different departments
• Conflicting instructions regarding financing and exchange procedures
• Delayed responses and lack of accountability
• Pressure surrounding exchange deadlines and mileage limits while Carvana’s own delays dragged the process out
• Multiple payment and processing errors
• Hours spent on the phone with customer service, my credit union, and executive resolution staff
• Significant disruption to my personal and professional life
Most shocking of all: it took nearly an entire MONTH to complete what should have been a straightforward vehicle exchange.
At one point, I was effectively being asked to navigate overlapping loans and financing issues caused entirely by Carvana’s process failures. I had to repeatedly chase updates myself while receiving inconsistent communication from representatives across departments.
The entire experience exposed major operational and communication problems within the company.
Buying a car should not feel like a full-time job or a legal dispute.

I will never use Carvana again, and I would not recommend them to friends, family, or anyone looking for a smooth car-buying experience.

A+ work by Carvana

I intended to sell my card to your competitor. Thank God I checked with Carvana. I got $500 more. Your driver came on time and “deprogramed” my Tesla and the car went bye-bye. Prior to that, the paperwork took about three minutes . The money was in my account in 24 hours. A flawless transaction. I thank you so much.

Warranty is Useless

The check engine light came on after the 7 day policy ended. Their warranty with Silver Rock is useless. They gave me a list of repair shops. The closer one does not repair the check engine light. The other shop is too far away to travel to. Both carvana and silver rock told me to find a repair shop on my own that will accept Silver Rock.

Significant repairs needed on day 1

I bought a 2020 Honda Accord EX-L from Carvana and paid a premium price for the convenience of buying online, sight unseen, with the expectation that their “150-point inspection” meant the car would be in solid, road-ready condition.

The car was delivered on Saturday. By Monday, I had it inspected by my own mechanic and what they found was unacceptable:

- Damaged struts need to be replaced
- All four tires were dry rotted and low on tread, and one had a nail in it
- Needs an alignment
- Brakes at end of life and need to be replaced
- Engine air filter and cabin filter filthy, likely never replaced
- Coolant, transmission, and brake fluid dark and overdue for service

That’s nearly $3,000 in immediate repairs and maintenance on a car that was supposedly inspected and ready to go.

When I contacted Carvana, they pushed me to the extended warranty company, which denied everything as “wear and tear” or maintenance items. That completely misses the point. These are not surprise issues after months of driving. This is the condition the car was delivered in.

If Carvana’s inspection process allows a vehicle in this shape to pass, then that process is either inadequate or not being followed properly.

I paid extra for convenience and peace of mind. Instead, I got a car that needs significant work right out of the gate and no meaningful support from Carvana to make it right.

Buyers beware: Don’t assume “inspected” means “problem-free.” Get your own inspection immediately, and be prepared for the possibility that you’ll be covering significant repairs yourself. Or plan to return the car to Carvana if you don’t want to pay another $3,000 after delivery.

$2000 fix within first month

We received a car with transmission wiring issues(and other issues). The codes were cleared by carvana before it was sold to us. Because the car didn't completely blow up until right after we had reached our mileage limit for carvana's "waranty", Carvana refused to help us. I haven't even had the car for a month and it's already going to cost me $2000 to fix and Carvana told me basically to shove it. Do not buy from this company. Do not sell to this company. They will absolutely sell you a lemon and you'll be stuck on the phone for hours with someone who can't help you.

BUYER RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

I purchased a car and traded in my old car that had a specialty license plate. I wanted to have the plate transferred. No one advised me what to do so I figured everything was fine. I find out that my specialty plate was removed and I am being issued a new plate. Carvana THEN tells me AFTER THE PROCESS WAS COMPLETED what i should have done. Mind you, AFTER, when it was too late and I was already charged for the new generic license plate. SHADY A F. Topping it off I am out of state with the new car so I NOW have to get someone to mail me the plate AFTER it gets delivered as I took the old plate with me but its no good anymore. CRAPVANA is a shady A F company. DO NOT do business with them

It was rather lightning speed

It was rather lightning speed, I didn't know what to expect. But everything was handled extremely fast. Very professional. I simply didn't want to deal with people coming to the house and having to field a million questions. They took the headache right out of selling a vehicle.

The tech showed up before time and rang the doorbell just on time; was courteous and took care of things in a way better than I expected.
