Prompt & clear response to an enquiry regarding car auction services. It was quite important to me that I understood which direction to go in, in good time, and Car Auction Services helped with their insights and considerations. Thank you thank you!!

I've used Matt and Car Auction Services twice now. Once for a cheap family run about from BCA, another for an ex lease Mercedes cabriolet from Aston Barclay.

On both occasions Matt has been very helpful, talking to me on the phone and emails in advance, the process is clear and the risks of buying from auctions made clear.

The auction process is over quickly, unlike other services I've used Matt called me on the phone and i was listening and having input to the bidding process.

On completion I was helped with the transportation organisation, all payments were completed quickly and Matt followed up to make sure I'd done all the vehicle checks in the required time.

I'm a private buyer who likes to find my own cars through the auction network, I will use Car Auction Services again now that private buyers can't go on site and bid directly.

carauctionservices.co.uk get you to pay a £30 PayPal fee just to become a customer. When you specify the car type / model etc you want at auction, a) IMHO they significantly overvalue that car (in my case, they example valued a VW Golf GTi Performance valued at £20,000 CAP 1 (auction / dealer price) but to me at £24,000 (which is dealer forecourt price) and then b) have to gall to demand £1400 "deposit" be paid to them which they state, and I quote "The Deposit MUST NOT be considered part of your purchasing capital. YES, it is separate to what you will pay for the car." OMG!

It gets worse. You agree that they can buy what they consider to be a good car for you!!!!

Look at their web site. No address (it is a legal requirement to have one) and the owner uses gmail, hmmmmm! No company ownership details, hmmmmmmm! Car Auction Services claims to have 45 to 50 professional buyers in their "group"!!! Maybe "they" have 45 to 50 dealer contacts that they do deals with, but I can not find their company listed anywhere, so I suspect it is a sole trader who knows a few dealers to do deals with!

No thanks! Fraud or what? Of course the owner of CarAuctionServices has done nothing but send me their T&C's after I paid the £30 PayPal fee and was refusing to pay that back. So filed a process with PayPal (on the basis they state on their site they give you so much more for that £30 including lists of cars which I never got), that CarAuctionServices were demanding £1400 to basically now give me what they said the £30 was for, and PayPal agreed with and refunded me!

PS I ended up getting a brand new 69 reg Golf R via a well known web site for buying cars at 27.5% less than my local VW dealership could go! Which pricing makes a nonsense of buying at auction / through car flippers and all the risks that also brings.

PPS Look out for the long tirades, BS (I never threatened CarAuctionServices with anything, nor did I abuse the staff - in fact, I am certain CarAuctionServices is a one "man" band) and personal insults from them / him, plus attacks on review sites for allowing the public to share their experiences / warnings with FACTS when you take them / it him to task; speaks volumes about the owner. Go look at CarAuctionServices and see for yourselves!

PPPS It aint me that's the troll! I have not contacted this person at all since I demanded my £ back from him 8 months ago. But he on the other hand has emailed me (I have now blocked him). Understand: this guy has been trying for 8 months to get this review removed, and failed each time. Publish your company details, you troll!
