Excellent experience - highly recommend!

Excellent experience with Cris at Quality Car Finder. I was after a BMW i4 but didn't want to pay over the odds at a dealership given the depreciation on used EVs. Cris found a wide range of options and walked me through the auction process, explaining the CAP valuations so I knew roughly what I should be bidding.

I landed a great deal that was around £5k lower than equivalents on Autotrader. The delivery was very smooth and the whole process was seamless. Highly recommended!

I wish I had found Quality Car Finder…

I wish I had found Quality Car Finder years ago. In the past, I have found buying a car stressful and time-consuming. Thanks to Cris and his team, this time it could not have been easier. Cris bought exactly the car I wanted at auction and had it delivered to my door. As far as I was concerned, no need for lots of research or for any haggling. Unlike previous purchases, I am confident that I got a good deal. I was slightly anxious about paying in advance to a business I had found on the internet, but I needn't have worried.

I had a great experience with Cris from Quality Car Finder. He immediately showed the emphasis he put on customer service, investing considerable time in explaining the process and discussing options for my specific needs.

Of course, it did require a bit of a leap of faith to transfer the required funds to his bank account - but I could only find positive coverage from reviews and was chose to mitigate the risk but putting £1k through a credit card.

He quickly shared lots of prospective cars and gave his informed views on them and within only a few days, I had won my first car at auction!

Cris then sorted delivery and an vehicle inspection, highlighting some useful things to keep in mind for the near future.

We've had the car for just over a week now and all the paperwork has come through. Overall, we're very happy and I have already recommend Cris to friends.

Outstanding Service Delivering Quality and Value

The QCF website is very clear, with the business model and process explained in detail. Cris is helpful, professional and thoroughly trustworthy. Cris stayed in touch to give regular updates and gave me excellent advice on the kind of car that would suit me best within my budget. He was able to secure an excellent car and then carried out a thorough inspection. We expected work to be needed, but his selection of vehicle proved to be rock solid, and the work done was very competitively priced. All round I would say this is a unique experience when it comes to the minefield of having to buy a second-hand car, certainly at the relatively low price-point I needed. I recommend Cris, his team and QCF very highly and without reservation!

Fabulous Customer Services

I was quite cautious for trying to make everything spot on for my first car. Cris worked well around the set budget and constantly being patient on explaining the possibility of getting any target cars and any follow up servicing of the car. Cris end up getting my first choice car with a price way lower than the set budget and sorted out all the admin work, servicing and MOT for the car. It meant a lot for owning a car first time. I can't be any more happier when I saw the car delivered in front of my door.

I thoroughly recommend Cris at Quality Car Finder. The process was very transparent throughout and it was really clear to me that Cris was dedicated to finding me a great car. When i was successful with an auction, he went much further than I expected in terms of getting the car in great condition (dealing with standard paint chips etc.). He offered to keep the car for longer to provide additional peace of mind that it was running well. And I definitely think the overall price was lower than i would have paid via a dealer. I was a little nervous initially (as I'd never purchased via an auction before), but i was quickly reassured by Cris.
Finally, I really appreciate his total commitment to honesty, integrity and fairness. His website references some bible verses all about this. It's clear that Cris is more concerned with doing the right thing, even if it means he makes less money from his customers. These values are rare, and I would absolutely buy a car via Cris again.

Excellent service

After wasting time viewing a couple of cars advertised privately locally that I then found had obvious undisclosed problems I tried QCF on the basis of huge online offering at auctions guaranteed descriptions and inspection reports. Compared to buying direct from auction yourself (the few where you still can) you have to take Cris’s time into account and choose carefully with sensible max bids (you can’t expect a big bargain but you might get lucky). On 6th attempt we got one that I’m very happy with, £200 under guide price and nearly £1000 under my max bid. Not perfect, but at a good price for condition. Cris arranged delivery and overall I paid about the same fees I’d have paid direct to the auction even if I was a registered low volume buyer.

Made an auction purchase easy

I was very pleased with the process of purchasing a car at auction via Cris. After I had let him know what car I was interested in purchasing and my budget, Cris was very proactive about finding cars that matched the brief, and very responsive when communicating over WhatsApp. He also spent over half an hour on the phone with me, answering my questions, which I really appreciated.

After I had decided to bid on a car, the process was straightforward. I was a bit hesitant about transferring the money to QCF before purchase, but Cris explained why (to avoid the risk of his being stuck with a car if the buyer changes their mind), which I was happy with, along with being able to pay £100 on a credit card to make use of the Section 75 protection. I was successful at auction, saving around £1500 vs buying the same car from a dealer. I would definitely consider buying a car at auction via Cris again.

Not a great experience

Not a great experience. Unauthorised repairs were completed that were very expensive and way over the agreed budget. For the same overall price we could have purchased a car at least ten years newer.Disappointing.

Reply from Quality Car Finder Ltd

We’re very sorry that you’re disappointed with the service you received, Tony. As per our previous email correspondence, we are not entirely sure as to your feeling that we overspent.

We had a budget of £2,000 to purchase and prepare a car. We found a VW Polo that had just failed MOT and as such we knew would require a fair bit of work, but the MOT gave us a list of failures that we could work through and which we felt should get us in at or around budget. You felt that was a good idea, so we purchased it. When the car came in, inspection showed that they had missed a couple of bits off the MOT. Additionally, the boot hatch was jammed and the 12v lighter didn’t work.

We wanted you to have a good experience (and your son to be pleased with his first car), so we elected to complete the work effectively at our own expense by not charging any fees for finding, sourcing and collecting the car, nor for taking it for MOT. In doing so, we essentially covered the expense of these ‘unauthorised’ repairs ourselves, as well as two brand new tyres (as opposed to cheaper part worn tyres that would have been legal) so that your son would have a good, safe first car. Nonetheless, we accept that we went £48 over budget and should have checked with you that you wanted us to complete the ‘non essential’ repairs of a working boot hatch and 12v socket for sat nav and phone etc. We considered that to be included in our remit of ‘well prepared’, but I now understand how that may not have been your preference. This was our error, for which we apologise.

You then asked us to source and install an Apple Play car stereo. I believe quoted you 'around' £240 for doing so and you asked us to go ahead. When we stripped the old radio out we found that the wiring loom to be damaged, so the job took considerably longer to complete, but we honoured the original labour quote didn’t charge you for any additional time.

Your total bill for the car (£2,048) plus stereo and camera supplied and installed (£260) was £2,308. So, we felt we’d gone £48 over budget, for which we apologised. Market value of the car was well in excess of £2,000, and the additional cost was for a very nice stereo which would also have boosted value at sale.

Given your dissatisfaction, we can only assume a miscommunication whereby you felt that the stereo purchase and installation would be possible within the original £2k budget. If that is indeed the case, we sincerely apologise for the confusion and consequent unexpected and unwelcome expense. We could never have prepared the Polo on that figure without compromising on safety - something we wouldn’t do (nor are we suggesting that you would want us to), but all ‘unauthorised’ work was done at our own cost.

With regards to your comment that you could have bought a car 10 years newer for the price paid, we have investigated this. The cheapest 1.2 Polo 10 years newer listed on AutoTrader at the time of writing, irrespective of mileage, is a Category S (structural damage insurance write-off) at £5,250. We are aware that cheaper cars sometimes appear on Facebook Marketplace etc., but when these are genuine cars (and not phishing scams) in our experience they invariably have serious mechanical or safety issues that are dictating their ‘bargain’ price.

In summary, we did not charge for finding the car, sourcing the car, collecting the car, for two hours of work ensuring all was good with the stereo, for coming in on a Saturday for pickup, nor collecting you from the station.

We are genuinely sorry that the car purchase went £48 over the budget we were set as well as for any miscommunication/misunderstanding that may have meant the total spend was more than you had expected. Please do not think that we don’t take your complaint seriously: our aim is always to provide a good service and a positive experience, and we very much regret that you consider yours to have been such a negative one.

Kind regards,
Cris (CEO, QCF Ltd)

Trustworthy and Professional company

I had seen a few cars on BCA (British Car Auctions) which I was very interested in, unfortunately members of the public are unable to bid on cars at BCA. Due to this I searched online to find a company who could bid for me. After contacting a few companies by email, Quality car finder ltd were by far the quickest to respond. I contacted the company and spoke with Chris the owner, who was extremely professional and knowledgeable in the motor trade.
I decided as I had to deposit all the funds upfront with Quality car finder to purchase a vehicle, I would like to visit the company and meet with Chris first.
I had a very good meeting with Chris at his premises, during which he assured me my monies would be completely secure and could be additionally protected by making part payment via my credit card.
Within a week Quality car finder ltd had bid on and won the car I wanted, all within the budget we had agreed upon. Several days later the car was delivered to my home at a very reasonable rate.
Overall my experience with Quality car finder was exceptional and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to find a car.

Purchase of a Tesla

Great way to buy hard to find cars at below retail prices. Cris and team always responsive to questions and returned money in minutes when car withdrawn from sale due to lack of v5. Would use them again.

Trustworthy and excellent service.

What an absolute joy. If I ever need a new car I’ll be straight on to Chris and the team. I’ll also be recommending them constantly to friends and family as my friend did to me.

They obviously care deeply about getting you the best possible vehicle for the best possible price.

As someone clueless about cars I came to them with a budget and how I’d be using the vehicle (ferrying my disabled mum and her dog around mainly urban areas) and they flagged a Skoda Yeti, a car I would never have even thought of. Suggested that it was time to go automatic for city driving, a hard sell to a resolutely manual driver, 3 days of driving has shown they were totally right.

They factored in all extras such as testing, servicing and their own (very reasonable for all the work they did) fee so there was no surprise bill at the end. I even got some back!!

I drove over from East London to pick up myself and left my pretty beat up car with them to sort out and find a buyer. They were very keen for it not to just be scrapped as I would have lazily done. A prime example of their commitment to being as environmentally friendly and socially conscious as possible. 100/10, thanks guys.
