Totally Lame !!
I can confirm that this company is an absolute disgrace. They will take your money and then happily lie through their teeth to get you to pay more.
Avoid at all cost !!
Totally Lame !!
I can confirm that the negative remarks below are entirely true.
We were charged over £600 to fix a motorhome heater. It was never fixed and the saga of excuses was an absolute joke.
I would not trust Carafit to change a light bulb let alone an expensive motorhome.
Brilliant service
Brilliant service, always helpful and prepared to go beyond the call of duty. Completely satisfied with the service I've had from these guys.
DONT ever go there, lying torags
DONT ever go there, I have never met such a bunch of lying people. Had my caravan for months and didnt repair a thing, constant lie after lie from Andrea who works there. I think they try to claim off warranty with out actually doing any repairs
Appallingly bad!
Appallingly bad!! I had my van broken into at christmas - they gained entry through the side window. I went to carafit after a mobile repair company let me down. They ordered the window and we took the van in for them to replace it. We were told they would do it in a morning. Several weeks later i was still waiting. I phoned every week and each week i had an excuse - trouble fitting the window, the bar across the top was bent, trouble ensuring it was sealed etc. I asked that they return the van to me for easter. After arranging to meet them at my storage place they failed to deliver it. They had, at this point replaced the window. They delivered the van the day before easter. When i went to see it the window was taped up with parcel and gaffa tape. I later received an email saying the window had fell out as they left their yard!!!! The following 3 months i was lied to and generally fobbed off. I eventually wrote a letter of complaint to the owner of the company. I am still waiting a response. This is the worst company i have ever had to deal with. How they have stayed in business i'll never know. Would NEVER recommend this company under any circumstances. Stay well clear.
Amazingly helpful. Great service.
I found these guys to be amazingly helpful. Had a window disappear on the M4 (still no idea exactly where, why or how etc....) rang several "emergency caravan services" none of whom got back to us while travelling on the M4 with window missing. Rang Carafit on the Friday morning and they didn't have a replacement but offered to help with a temporary fix until one was in stock. We were delighted that someone could help us out so promptly and took our caravan on the following Monday. In that time they had actually managed to find an old version of the same size window and fitted it there and then for the price of the previously quoted short term fix. Exceptionally helpful, quick and at an excellent price. Would highly recommend! Thank you very much.
What an absolute shambles.....
What an absolute shambles. Booked a service for my caravan at home and in all fairness got it booked in and attended quickly. In my opinion the length of time taken to do the service didn’t seem like a full service, but that was only the start of my issues. It took over 5 weeks to get the service paperwork and even a receipt after constantly being palmed off and lied to. Eventually turned up, but would never use again and certainly would not recommend.
By far the worst so called business I …
By far the worst so called business I have ever dealt with, waited over a month for a part then was told a time and date in which it would be fitted only for the fitter not to turn up with out even a phone call. Then rearranged to have part fitted only to find out that it was the complete wrong part. In total I lost over £300 (days off work to meet fitter at my caravans location, over £50 in fuel cost, And child care) 1 star is a compliment.
Avoid
I have never met a more blatant and accomplished liar than the manager of this totally incompetent outfit. Over a two year period I was repeatedly assured that warranty claims had been submitted to Elddis for cracks in various locations on my caravan before eventually learning from the manufacturer that no such claims had ever been submitted. During this time the visits my caravan made to Carafit were always prolonged, some of the excuses given were “needing new window catches” or “we’ve found water ingress”, and the best of all, “it needs a wash and polish” - all complete nonsense where no evidence of any remedial work was ever found. When they eventually decided to actually do something about the cracks by re-spraying the front panel (probably to get rid of me) they managed to spray the front windows as well! My complaint on this specific matter drew a promise of an inspection when the weather improved - but that was six months ago and I’m not expecting a call any day soon.
For the sake of your sanity avoid Carafit at all costs.
Still in business?
Don't know how these people are still operating. Unbelievable lies that came from this woman. Strongly recommend a new career in creative writing,. fairy tales might be an option! My experience, the worst I've been ever had to deal with in my whole life!. They had my caravan for nine months, I lost whole year of use, it was returned with more damage, back panel held on with gaffer tape ( seems to be a favourite!) electrics not working, EHU connector u s, yellow anti ' grub' button ' for Alko wheel lock, chewed! Mug from internal set is missing, child's s toy missing. It' s not even road worthy! After all the B S I was told, I was just glad to get it back, as I thought I was never going to see it again. I had already been in touch with police, when I contacted CRIS to locate the van. Then Carafit couldn't t get rid of it fast enough, still not repaired! And absolutely filthy, like it had been parked under trees for 9 months! It was immaculate when I took it to them originally! Here's a story for the books: because of ' my attitude' , they removed the new repaired side panel and put the old one back on. They had supposedly replaced BCM electric unit with Sergeant unit, supposedly more reliable, and then put old BCM back in before returning c'van to me!!!! C'van originally being returned. Feb '16, finally arrived Aug '16. So kept all old parts more than 6 months? Yeah right! This gives brief idea of goings on! Be afraid! Be very afraid!!
At your peril !
My caravan went in for a damp repair in July, and after several phone calls it was returned six weeks later. On inspection of the work done the offside cupboard had several deep scratches, which were not there previous to the work being carried out. Silicone had been applied to the space between the cupboard and the side wall to disguise the poor fitment.
The worst was yet to come ! The Remis tilt/slide roof blind had been STOLEN, and replaced with a broken blind, the near side front window had been replaced with a window from another van with a different CRIS number. After 25+ phone calls and many broken promises and lies to replace the items, I involved the police as the blind and window were not part of the contract between myself and carafit. The blind was eventually replaced with an older blind, which we were not happy with. I have been a customer with Carafit for 20 years, and I have been dismayed with the unexpected level of poor customer satisfaction. They will not see my custom EVER again, If you value your goods I strongly advise you stay away from Carafit.
Unbelievable Customer Service.
Unfortunately our van was in with Carafit for 5 months last year. To repair the fridge and replace a window with a chip in the glass although it wasn't leaking. After a few months we rang and pestered them relentlessly to get the van back and eventually after trying different solutions (several leaks while they had the van) they dropped it off at the wrong farm with same window! The van was returned with the window held on with duct tape !!! I have no idea what is going on with this company. I was told that there were other pressing personal issues going on that meant they couldn't deal with the business. We were lied to and also made to feel at fault for expecting too much (the window was replaced elsewhere promptly and politely).
Very angry
You do not want my Honest opinion. New Bailey Unicorn Valencia111 - bought March 2015. Went for a repair - my fault, but good temp repair meant it was useable. Took to Carafit early December 2015, it was returned on Friday 19th August 2016! No repairs done. Services for warranty - I don't know. Road worthy - I don't know. Absolutely filthy. More damage when on their site - broken back panel held on with gaffer tape. Electric hook up connector - broken. If you value your property - don't even waste time considering them for the work. I hope someone can ..................................!!!! I would not give any stars if that was possible.
would you trust these people
hi just got back from Spain having been there for the winter, before we left we checked every-thing and found the fridge was not working October 2013 took the van to Carafit to be checked and was told the burner was faulty they ordered a new one and said bring the van back next week took it back after 5 hours checked to see if the work was done they explained that they had to cut the pipe and that they would have to get a coupling this would take a week following returned with van to be told they would have to take the fridge out to remove pipe for flaring at the local garage as they didn't have tools waited 7 hours in the end took the van away with work done and a note on the receipt saying not tested whilst we were away we had awful smell coming from fridge and carbon monoxide fumes in van had it looked at in Spain and was told that the jet was the wrong size for 30 bar not as our van was 50 bar we had this rectified now working perfectly So the moral of the story is find people who can read the specification on the gas door compartment and order the correct parts and use a firm that have proper fitters for gas appliances for your own safety
Had my Swift Bolero motorhome booked in to fit new Fiamma cycle rack
Each day my motorhome was in Carafit I was told the cycle rack had not been delivered, After 4 days my confidence in this company was at an all time low
and I removed my vehicle,Can anyone convince me this is a one off and is not a common happening.Concidering I booked this motorhome in over a week before it was delivered to Carafit I would have expected this bycycle rack to be in stock on day of fitting.
