Well where do we start
Well where do we start.
1) Untruthful about their delivery fees by zone. When it came time for delivery arrangement.”oh sorry it’s actually more than that. The website doesn’t show our current zone pricing”.
2) drove 47 kms from pickup and had the check engine light come on for “DEF fluid tank level sensor malfunctioning, take to dealership car will not restart when shut off”
Sent to a shady mechanic that I can’t believe even qualified for their 5star approved service centers. They do rebuilt vehicle and salvage vehicles right down the street from my home. Had to get a specific diesel mechanic that I use to do the repairs and assessment and made them honour it.
Clearly this is why the car was listed, taken down and relisted several times over 120 days and the price reduced noticeably.
3) WARRANTY: I’d recommend steering clear of their add-on warranty options. They give you a seperate contracted sale for this portion. It very nicely explains their three tiers, Silver, Gold and the oh so amazing Platinum plan. As you’d expect and as stated each one superseded the last with additional benefits.
At the bottom they make mention that this information is correct, but! Be sure to reference your terms and conditions to be sure it is.
You are not given these terms and conditions during the sale of the vehicle or the seperate third party warranty.
The simplest of repairs that are in the basic coverage, not to mention the PLATINUM package you upgraded to, are denied by the underwriter, GLOBAL WARRANTY.
Push back, hold them accountable, get your reimbursement after almost 3 months time, if you don’t take their SH*T. Rub the documents and warranty package in their face, like a bad little puppy who pooped all over the white carpet, and they will reimburse you. But, and here’s the but, they will also default in the end to the disclaimer they have on the contract that reads.
This document is believed to be without error. However, your terms and conditions explain your coverage specifically and should always be referred to. The Terms and Conditions are the final determiner of your coverage.
But you are never provided with these documents by Canada Drives, nor by Global warranty.
So to recap,
“WE BELIEVE that what we are selling you is accurate but when it comes down to it we don’t actually know if it is”
And we don’t give them to you when you buy the car. You need to verify with the warranty provider.
BUT! They don’t give it to you either.
Because when you end up with a repair to be done, and you ask for the terms and conditions because they don’t match your paperwork, they say they can’t give you them. Why?
Because “It’s just in our system, it’s not actually a document we can give you, CANADA DRIVES SHOULD HAVE PROVIDED THIS TO YOU, you don’t have that level of coverage I’m afraid you just have basic”
Interesting.
The old deflection game until you give up. Which by the way I did not do and still have not. And have gotten to having the Motor vehicle sales authority of British Columbia involved with an open case file underway.
Over a $180 dollar transmission mount that is clearly outlined in their silver package breakdown contents of coverage.
So my short version is.
They are Crooked, they aren’t truthful, they won’t honour anything because they have their cowardly little disclaimer which by the way NOBODY WILL GIVE YOU. Don’t buy from these two faced Weasels that are all four paws deep in the Hen house.
I hope I’ve saved someone from a huge huge huuuuge headache.
If you do decide to buy a car and their warranty, please please pleeeease make sure you MAKE THEM provide you with the real terms and conditions, VERIFIED!!!, prior to signing because their information is just a smoke and mirrors show.
We have to look out for each other.
I hope I paid it forward.

Zero stars—avoid at all costs!
If I could rate zero stars for my experience selling to Canada Drives, I would. Please DO NOT sell your car through them, even if you’re desperate.
I feel so stupid after seeing that this company pulled the exact same tactic with many other reviewers. Here’s how it plays out:
1. They offer you a very low price for your car, which you will likely ignore.
2. They don’t contact you right away, presumably to give you time to shop around, contact Clutch.ca (which was much more pleasant to deal with), etc.
3. They then start spamming you with calls, emails, and text messages. Now they are desperate to buy your car. They are suddenly CONFIDENT they can meet or even beat Clutch’s (or the other competitor’s) offer.
4. They schedule you for an inspection, only for you to be offered significantly less once the car has been inspected.
Now on to the experience itself. The closest inspection location was in the literal middle of nowhere—it took me over 1.5 hours to get there. I can’t think of any beneficial reason for them to operate out of that space, other than to be intentionally difficult to get to. I imagine they have a lot of people who get there, receive lowball offers, but then think “I drove this far, I might as well accept.” There’s no shuttles, no offers of Uber gift cards to get you home (which Clutch provides), nothing. It was a $30, 25 minute Uber ride to get from the Canada Drives office to the nearest train station after proceeding with the sale.
Onto the offer/inspection. When I spoke with Taylor over the phone, I mentioned I had winter tires on rims that I was hoping to include as part of the sale. He advised I would get more by selling them privately, but if I included them they could offer me “a little bit extra”. When I mentioned this during inspection, both Ivo and Mo essentially laughed in my face. They said they couldn’t give me any extra money for the tires, but I could take them home if I wanted to sell them privately. I’m not sure how they expected me to take them home when I was planning to sell my car then and there, so I ended up having to include them. During the inspection, Ivo found a scrape on my front bumper that I genuinely hadn’t noticed. Mo told me it would cost him about $600 to fix, yet he offered $2,000 less than what I was quoted over the phone. I understand the quotes provided online/over the phone are subject to the results of an inspection, but the math wasn’t adding up on this one.
Lastly, the payment. Canada Drives advertises everywhere that you will be paid on the same day your car is dropped off. Once you agree on the price, that’s when the excuses start. My inspection was in the evening, so “unfortunately the payment won’t be transferred to your account until tomorrow”. Then Mo saw that I bank with a credit union and he “wasn’t sure if they could receive funds on the same day, so it may not be until Monday at the latest”. ??? Okay, sure, whatever. I had a Bill of Sale and I know it’s a legitimate company so I’d receive my money eventually, but this is 100% false advertising.
I honestly felt like I needed a shower after this whole experience—it was incredibly unpleasant with scummy, well-concealed tactics from start to finish. I wish I had just gone with Clutch or my local dealer that offered a similar quote to what I ended up receiving from Canada Drives.
Shady company
Shady company, do not give them your information! I was sent to a shady car dealership in Halifax called Auto One, also shady. They hit my credit report and then ghosted me. Don’t waste you credit score or time.
Everything going well...... then ghosted!
Had a "financial manager" AJ reach out to me and after giving all appropriate information and working on a pre approval I was then ghosted. I do not recommend.
Good customer service
They were very friendly to us and created time on a Saturday
We bought 2 cars
We bought 2 cars, the first one appeared to be ok and I haven't had much trouble except I was told after 6 months rthey would refinance it to a lower rate. They are avoiding me like the plague. Also found damage that detail had covered up. 2nd car came no floor mats, smelled like ciggarettes and still does. wont come out. no services ever. came from salvage auction it seems. its all a scam ! Dont do it.
Waste of time! Stupid Premise...
Wanted to look at cars and had a very specific shopping list. Went to the website yesterday and had to fill out a financing application even though I am paying cash. Then received texts, email and phone calls every hour for the past 36hrs. They still try even though they don't know what car I want! How dumb and inconvenient is that??? They are the online equivalent of the polyester and leisure suit salespeople of the 1970s!!! They dont sell cars...they sell financing!!!
SCAM CALLS GALORE
Ever since I contacted Canada Drives and provided some of my information, I have had an average of 7 to 10 spam calls per day. This is ongoing and it's been almost 3 to 4 weeks. They obviously sell your information. Do not deal with this company.
This company claims to approve everyone…
This company claims to approve everyone no matter if you have good or bad credit. We'll that's not true!!
I have a vehicle with $8000 owing and because I have negativity equity they tell no lenders will accept me.
So people with bad credit and don't have a person that can co-sign do not apply for a loan from this company as they cannot help you!!
No value-add
Canada Drive's response to my initial inquiry was very swift - with repeated calls during regular work hours. After booking a time more convenient for me & multiple texts about what I am looking for, I was informed I would be connected with a sales rep from a local car lot.
I wasn't yet impressed with Canada Drives (I could have gone to that lot for myself - and actually had been there to look around after hours already) but decided to trust the process and wait for the call.
Silence.
Two weeks later I received a startup call and text again from Canada Drives - "thank you so much for reaching out. We would love to help you find a vehicle. Let's chat about what you're looking for". Again, during work hours.
I replied with a text explaning that I was disappointed to say I never heard from anyone, saw no value-add with Canada Drives, was told a sales rep would call but they never did, and I have already purchased a vehicle.
Do I receive any acknowledgement that they received my text? Maybe wanting to apologize for poor service?
No. A rep from the local car lot calls and texts saying they'd love to help me find my next vehicle. And again, during work hours.
I see absolutely no value-add in dealing with Canada Drives.
We sold our car to Canada Drives - GREAT EXPERIENCE!…
We were contacted by Canada Drives after they probably saw one of our ads in 3 different Cars for sale websites.
A woman contacted us on a Friday, her message was efficient, providing us with all the information we required including a fair quote for the car for someone who is a reseller. She said she'd contact us on Monday to see if we'd like to to proceed further with an inspection to see if the quote required any adjustments.
On Monday she called, we drove down to their office in Richmond. The inspection person was thorough and professional. Then we met with a gentlemen in the office to discuss the final quote for the car. He was also extremely profession and an all around nice guy! There was a brief discussion on an adjustment to their original quote due to the insurance claims that were on the history of the car from the prior owners. We said we understood their position, however, we discussed that we had another close offer for the car at week's end, so if they could meet the original quote we'd accept the sale today. They did pay us the original estimate and we were out the door within the hour!
Deal signed, license plate removed. We received our direct deposit within a few hours. Not much else I could ask for!! I highly recommend Canada Drives to sell your call!
sleek website
I just filled the form to see their options, and low and behold there is credit check on my credit report!! sleek move! credit check is should must be final stage! nobody knows your dealer have the car I want or not!
Extremely Aggressive and Unprofessional Experience
I regret filling out the form on this website. I initially believed it was a simple online service to explore car options, but I was immediately overwhelmed with constant calls and texts. Despite emailing them and clearly requesting that they stop contacting me, the outreach continued relentlessly.
What shocked me most was the behavior of one of their agents, who scolded me for not answering the phone and said, “You took 40 minutes of my time—you have to answer!” This level of aggression is completely unacceptable.
I’ve made it clear multiple times that I’m no longer interested and do not wish to be contacted, but my requests have been ignored. This company’s approach is intrusive, rude, and highly unprofessional. I strongly advise others to think twice before providing their contact information.
Aggressive and Rude Sales Representatives
I applied online to see what they could offer me in terms of a vehicle, interest rate, price etc. as I was shopping around to get the best deal possible. I spoke to Samuel and he was possibly one of the most aggressive and rude sales people I have ever spoke to. When I stated what my preference of vehicle and budget was he began to explain to me how that was never possible and I had to finance a $25,000-$30,000 car in order to get the payments I budgeted for. He spoke so aggressively and I couldn’t get a word in. The conversation lasted for about 10 minutes and it was mainly him “explaining” to me how financing a vehicle works and how credit scores/credit enquiries work (as if I didn’t know or didn’t educate myself… maybe he assumed because I was a woman?) Anytime I spoke, I was rudely interrupted and “corrected” on my misinformed opinion. I have never had an experience like this in my life and it’s quite clear their sales people prey on vulnerable people who may not be fully educated on financing vehicles and who may not speak up for themselves when talked to so aggressively.
Anyway, my so called “unattainable and non-existent” budget as per Samuel actually was attainable and existent as another dealer approved me for those payments and my vehicle is on its way.
Stay clear of this company!
I'd give a zero if I could
I'd give a zero if I could. Went online to look at vehicles available on the Canada Drives site (FYI you cannot view vehicles until you submit the credit app). I did not want to submit a credit or finance application, so exited. However, they already had my phone number and started calling, then texting. I finally spoke with someone and provided the details of the car I wanted. He asked about submitting a credit application, which I declined as I have great credit and would obtain my own financing.
Next thing I know I am getting calls from Journey Chrysler, I have never been in contact with this company. I then received an Equifax alert that Journey Chrysler had submitted a credit enquiry. I NEVER approved this enquiry. I immediately tried calling J/C multiple times, most often they do not answer. When I did actually get through, I was always transferred, left voice mails and no return calls. I spoke with the finance department, who advised she did not make the enquiry and stated she would transfer me, while I was still asking her a question, she transferred the call, to whom I do not know? Left yet another voicemail, I then tried calling the Manager, again to no avail. I think this company is linked with Canada Drives, both of which in my opinion are scammers.
Finally, I have submitted a complaint with Equifax and BBB. Please be mindful when if you deal with either of these companys.
Excellent experience with selling my car
Really excellent customer service from Taylor for setting up the entire process for selling my vehicle. It was very easy with good communication and a very fair offer.
Kris was very friendly and thorough with the inspection of my vehicle. Everything was straight forward and honest. Definitely happy with the entire experience.
Their business model is one of harassment
I made the mistake of applying to their service when I was looking for a car. They have contacted me for over a month now, with various numbers with different salespeople's names (I lost count around 7 different numbers).
I have been asking them to stop contacting me as I am not looking at this time. The text messages keep coming, each time from a new number.
I would give them zero stars if I could. Stay away.
0 stars
0 stars. I applied to see what type of vehicles were for sale since it insinuates they also have inventory to view. I told them I did not require financing, so I am not sure why they would show me cars if they did not get a deal to finance. He hung up.
Man these guys....
Man these guy, what a bunch of guys, hilarious, sold me a tonka truck love it.
Getting the run around
I’ve yet to receive my car! Have had to wait almost a week,,Because of excuses and lack of communication. I had a family member pass and really could have used a car! Was approved on a Wednesday and it’s now Monday and still no car. I used Canada drives years back and was able to fill out the application and within less than 2 daysbI was in a car. I feel like my patience and kindness are being tested. I o asked if I could back out of the deal and was told no, then bank has approved the funding! So I’m feeling bullied and why wouldn’t I especially knowing they are getting a ton of money off of me in the next few years.
