Having seen the rowers on the river but never known how to give it a go, this was an ideal way to try it out. Friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable, we soon felt at ease and quickly got to grips with the technique. Loads of fun, I'd definitely recommend to anyone give this a go. Loved it and felt at ease immediately. Instructor was super clear with all instructions and in just a few hours, improved my beginner running skills hugely! Definitely be back again for more lessons.

I had the first go with rowing with the Cambridge Rowing Experience. It was an incredible day and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try rowing for the first time! We spent the first part on the rowing machine learning the proper technique and then we went straight out on an eight boat. Omar is an amazing teacher, is very methodical, puts beginners at ease and leaves you feeling confident to go out on the water! Highly recommended!

An excellent way to approach this sport.

Omar has been really friendly and accurate in teaching the basics. The whole experience was simply fun, and the sense of teamwork becomes clear as soon as you take your first stroke. I highly recommend it.

I had a fantastic time at the Cambridge Rowing experience. Omar was an excellent coach – patient, clear, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping us improve. I was honestly surprised by how much progress we made in such a short time. By the end, we were actually rowing together smoothly, which felt amazing! The whole session was fun, well-structured, and really rewarding. Highly recommend, especially with Omar as your coach.

Well it was my first ever experience rowing anything other than a kayak. Omar was relaxed and knowledgeable and I felt like I progressed quickly as a result. It left me wanting to get back on the river again.

This rowing experience was the highlight of our 2 week trip around Great Britain. All credit goes to our instructor who took 8 people who had no idea what they were doing and trained us in short order to row together as a team on the River Cam. And it was so fun! We learned the stroke technique on the rowing machines, then proceeded to practice in the boat alongside the shore. For the last hour or so, we actually rowed the 8-man boat on the river! Now I walk around telling people "I rowed at Cambridge"! Don't miss this!!!

Brilliant team event!
I had a fantastic rowing experience as part of a corporate event for 10 people! The session was enjoyable, relaxed, and run with great professionalism. It was perfectly suited to all abilities, whether you’re a complete beginner or more experienced. One of the best parts is that you don’t get wet at all, making it ideal even for non-swimmers. A really accessible and fun activity for everyone!

It was like being back at uni for me (decades ago) whilst first timers such as my partner were expertly tutored and supported in their first ever opportunity to crew an eight boat. The atmosphere was friendly and fun and the feeling of successfully rowing past the boat clubs on the Cam was very satisfying! Everything was thought of from an initial tutorial on ergs to carrying our boat and blades out ready to show off our skills.
Highly recommended and great value for money.

I've always wanted to try rowing but didn't know how to get into what seems like a different world...so this experience was perfect! The instructor was great - the right amount of encouragement and fun mixed with clear technical feedback. After one session, I already feel like a rower and have been back since for more. A very welcoming club and all round positive experience which I can't recommend highly enough to anyone who would like to give rowing a go.

Mr son has done this course twice now 2024 and 2025 and we've just signed up for another interview 2025. I could not believe that within one day a group of teenagers and children could lift, carry, care for and row a boat as a TEAM! It's amazing! The coaches are excellent. It's very relaxed and a wonderful experience.

Great workshop for me and two teenagers. Everybody enjoyed getting into rowing. Omar is great with people of all ages and abilities.

Fantastic experience with a great instructor! We were on the river in no time, rowing up and down the Cam enjoying and learning at the same time.

We had an amazing time learning how to row in this picturesque location on the river in Cambridge.
We learned so much about rowing from how to carry the boat as a team correctly, how to keep the boat stabilised and the correct techniques for our strokes.
When we were all rowing in synch it was amazing and we picked up some good speed.
The instructor was so friendly patience and knowledgeable. He helped take some pictures for us all in the day as we couldn't really bring our phones due to the rowing .
The centre has lockers and you can refill water before going on the water.
Great day out would highly recommend if you enjoy being on the water.
