September 2025 — I finally climbed Kilimanjaro.

This had been a dream of mine for many years, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without Jack and the entire team at Legend. From the moment I signed up, they believed in me, often more than I believed in myself, and supported me every step of the way (quite literally).

The climb was the hardest thing I have ever done, both mentally and physically. There were moments I wanted to stop, moments I doubted everything… but the team kept me going. Their encouragement, patience, and constant reassurance made all the difference.

What could have been overwhelming became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life because of the people around me. Thank you so much to everyone at Legend for helping turn a long-held dream into reality. I will never forget it.

I climbed Kilimanjaro with Legend Expeditions in August 2025. Jack and the Legend team have created something special on the mountain - the perfect blend of comfort and adventure. From the first call to stepping onto the summit, everything was taken care of allowing my best friend and I to enjoy every step of the way. Legend creates such a relaxed and fun atmosphere that our group quickly bonded and the games after dinner every evening was the best way to end the day.

The focus on sustainable climbing and providing fair working conditions and pay for the team members was extremely important to me given this is not always the case. I feel extremely lucky to have met Jackson, Nelson, Fadhili and the rest of the team whose kindness, humour and encouragement took us to the summit.

I would sum up the experience as a week of being fully present, learning, and laughing while climbing the highest peak in Africa. I am truly grateful to have been able to be apart of this experience. All I’d say is book the call with Jack!!!

I had an incredible experience climbing Kilimanjaro with Legend Expeditions last summer. The entire team took such great care of us throughout the journey and were kind and encouraging every step of the way. I became quite ill halfway through the trip and the team was especially supportive and attentive, making sure I felt well looked after, and helped me with carrying my bag when needed, which made a huge difference. I hadn’t had too much hiking experience, but Jack and the team were super helpful with making sure we had all of the equipment we needed and helping us source/rent them!

I couldn’t recommend Legend Expeditions highly enough and would recommend them to everyone considering a climb - it was a truly unforgettable experience for me and my best friend!

We climbed Kilimanjaro with Legend Expeditions in September, and it was truly one of the most transformative experiences of my life. From the very first moment, the team made everything feel effortless, they took care of every detail, leaving us free to focus on the climb and the experience itself.

Our guides weren’t just knowledgeable, they were incredibly encouraging, patient, and genuinely invested in each of us reaching the summit.

The climb challenged me in ways I didn’t expect. There were moments of doubt, exhaustion, and questions on whether I could make it, but the support from the Legend team, combined with the camaraderie of our group, continued to push me.

The campsites were like a travelling hotel with private showers, cot beds, mattresses with pillows, and private hot showers, Legend are the only Kilimanjaro company to offer this. The food was nutritious and enjoyable with Legends team of chefs and assistants, and it was incredible to see the types of western food they were able to make 5895m above sea level! These might sound like luxuries, but they're designed to get you to the top by keeping you clean, fed, rested, and well, so you've got the best chance of summiting.

This experience changed me in ways I can’t fully put into words, but I’ll be forever grateful for their care, expertise, and heart throughout the trip. If you’re ready for an adventure that challenges you, humbles you, and inspires you in a way that you've never experience before, then Legend Expeditions is the team to make it happen, I wouldn't have summited or had half the experience I did without them.

The team at Legend excelled on so many levels; professionalism, organisation, safety and attention to detail.
However, it was the spirit and good humour which Jack and all the Legend staff kept us in - from bottom to top and back down again - that stood out for me. All there was left to do was relax and enjoy the hike!

Jack is a fantastic owner and guide. The quality of the trek, the camps, the leading and guiding were fantastic, and the people I met on the trek made a massive difference. Legend was thoughtful and very communicative on what to expect for each day and the exact conditions we would deal with. 10/10, I would recommend to everyone!!!

My journey to the summit of Kilimanjaro with Legend Expeditions was, without a doubt, an experience of a lifetime, made possible by the incredible team and meticulous planning that went into every detail. From the moment I booked, it was clear I was in capable hands.

Pre-Climb
The preparation phase was seamless. Jack, the owner, was always on hand to answer questions and provided extensive details on everything from the essential kit list to what to expect on the mountain. His guidance on navigating the practicalities of the trip, such as visas and insurance, removed a significant amount of stress and allowed me to focus purely on preparing for the adventure ahead.

The Climb
On the mountain itself, Jack and his team were simply incomparable. The energy, encouragement, and palpable experience they brought to the expedition were second to none. It was immediately apparent that their approach was a step above other teams on the climb. They expertly managed our acclimatization, with stunning hikes that allowed us to adjust to the altitude while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Their positive attitude and professional support were instrumental in our success.

The attention to detail extended to the camp facilities and food, which were nothing short of remarkable. The meals provided were ridiculously good for being on the side of a mountain, and scenic coffee stops gave us a welcome chance to catch our breath. We were the envy of other camps, with many expressing disbelief at the additional facilities we enjoyed (a hot shower at 4000m was a one-of-a-kind) I’m almost hesitant to describe how good the conditions were, for fear of making the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro sound like an easy ride; it wasn't, but Legend Expeditions made it as comfortable and enjoyable as humanly possible.

Following the climb, I added a one-day safari, where Jack's expertise once again shone through. His deep knowledge of the local wildlife and environment made the entire experience incredibly enriching and enjoyable.

This local knowledge is one of Jack's greatest assets. His ability to speak Swahili and his familiarity with the area meant that every aspect of the trip, from meals out in town to coffee stops and shopping trips, was a breeze.

For anyone considering taking on Kilimanjaro, I cannot recommend Legend Expeditions highly enough. They don't just get you to the top; they ensure the entire journey is an unforgettable adventure

Climbing Kilimanjaro with the Legend team was such a special experience and one I will never forget! I was slightly nervous to be embarking on this trip on my own but from the very start when I began communicating with Jack I felt confident and knew I would be safe travelling with the team. Every single member was so knowledgeable and experienced, there for whatever help I required and knowing what I needed when I didn't myself!
The camp set up was well thought out to give maximum comfort and each person in the team had an important role to keep us moving and support us on the journey. And the luxury of toilets and a hot shower was unmatched!

The food was unlike any camping trip I have been on before, three delicious hot meals made by camp chef Kennedy to keep us warm and fuelled each day.
And a special mention to Jonny, head of snacks, who made the coffee stop during our walks and at the end of the days walking a highlight!

I cannot speak highly enough of the guides who kept us motivated, taught us about the area and wildlife and kept us entertained and laughing throughout. My trip was so special because of them and the rest of the Legend team who worked tirelessly to make our experience the best it could be.

Jack and Jackson have created the most amazing environment and I feel really privileged to have been a part of the Legend team for a short amount of time whilst climbing Kilimanjaro and spending time in beautiful Tanzania 🇹🇿.

This trip is a once in a lifetime experience and I’m so thankful I got to do it with the Legend team. From arrival to departure I was made to feel at ease and looked after. Jack and the team have thought about every detail of the experience and it shows! Some personal favourites were hot drinks brought to the tent each morning, motivational playlists, hot showers, a real toilet, coffee and snack stops! Oh and my Nan and my best mate told me they miss the daily updates on the friends and family group 😅.

Special mention to Jack and the guides Francis, Fadhili and Nelson who were super motivating, supportive and fun to be around each day trekking. Mealtimes served by Johnny with the biggest smile and the best food on the mountain cooked up by Kennedy. The porters were notably the strongest and fastest, always getting the best camping spots. I loved seeing how genuinely happy and cared for they were as a team, their energy was infectious and kept our spirits high throughout.

Jack and the team prioritise your safety and well being throughout so all you have to do is eat and drink enough of what’s provided, put one foot infront of the other and enjoy the experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to share this journey with!

I also added a 2 and a half day safari to my trip which was perfectly organised and timed before my flight home. Magoma, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and always showed integrity towards the animals, ourselves and other safari guests. Unbelievable experience and one I’ll never forget!

Legend Expeditions made my Kilimanjaro experience completely unforgettable - with fun and laughter from base to summit.
Jack ensures the trip is entirely stress free by taking care of every detail - all I had to do was turn up at the airport ready to go!
The guides were exceptional, the food was excellent, our camp luxuries were the envy of others and everything was organised with military precision!

What stood out for me the most is the way Legend look after their team (and anyone else)! It was clear throughout the week that their team of porters were better cared for and respected than others - they are very clearly the best team on the mountain.

Kilimanjaro is a once in a lifetime trip and going with Legend will be everything you hope for and more - I wouldn’t even consider anyone else!

What a journey!

Having had the desire to tackle the mountain for a while it was time to take the leap. Deciding to travel with Jack & the Legend Team was a no brainer. From the very beginning of the process you are put at ease and can feel excited about the journey ahead.

Arriving to an unknown group was a little daunting but the Legend Team are literally that … legends. I’ve never felt more supported by all involved. It is clear to see the dedication of the team to make the climb a success for all.

There is literally nothing to worry about in the hands of the Legend Team. All you have to do is put one foot in front of the other and take in the incredible surroundings.

To put it simply, everything was perfect.
My partner and I joined the Legend team for the 8 day Lemosho route up Kili and then 3 days of Safari.
Even before booking, Jack from Legend took the time to talk to us via video call to ensure we understood the entire process of the trip. The level of communication throughout the planning process put us completely at ease.
To be honest I expected that summitting the mountain would be one of the best moments of my life. It did not dissappoint. Everything about sunmit day was unbelievable, even down to the minute perfect timing of the guides getting us to the crater for a spectacular sunrise. What I did not anticipate was that every moment of every day on the hike would be equally as enjoyable. Spending a week in the company of the Legend guide team would be a worthwhile holiday in its own right. Every member of the Legend team from guides, to chefs, to porters, and Safari guides as well, were absolutely brilliant. After walking 8 days we felt like we just wanted to keep going (the additional luxuries provided by Legend definitely helped).
The priorities of the Legend team are Safety, enjoyment and then reaching the summit. What you need to understand though is that this extends to every single person on the mountain. No tourist, guide or porter would ever be left behind by the Legend team and the benefits this business bring to the wider community in this area of Tanzania are tangible.
I could not possibly suggest any company to guide you up Kili, or on Safari, other than the simply amazing Legend Expedition team.

I undertook the Toubkal trek with Jack and the Legend team, and it was a fantastic experience. The organisation, logistics and planning were spot on, from initial communications to the trek itself. On the mountain Jack and Mohammed were responsive to the needs of the individuals in the group, displaying the experience and confidence to tailor their level of assistance to each of us, to help us achieve what we had set out to do. Most of all the encouragement and sense of humour from the team (and the rest of the group) made the entire trip enormous fun.

Toubkal was my first mountain trek and I’m so glad I did it with Legend Expeditions. From the initial calls to discuss the trek through to actually completing it, I felt well informed and supported. I was nervous as I’ve never tried to do anything like this before but Jack and the team had everything covered. Always on hand to give advice, help and loads of encouragement, I was able to complete a challenge I didn’t think I would be capable of. Nothing was too much trouble and Jack and the team always made sure everything was in place and that I was happy and comfortable with everything. I’m already thinking of my next trek and I wouldn’t choose anyone else! If you are thinking of using Legend Expeditions for your next adventure, do it. You won’t be disappointed! I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Jack, Mohammed and the Legend team were nothing short of world-class on my solo trip to Toubkal! Everything from arrival, to the hike itself was incredibly thorough. Most of all though, we had an incredible group, fun leaders, and a trip of a lifetime. Thanks all - and look forward to the next one!

From the moment Jack met us at Marrakesh airport to our drop-off at the end of the trip, everything with Legend Expeditions was first class.

The experience with them started long before we even left the UK. Jack took time to meet us for coffee and talk us through the challenge, answering all our questions with patience and reassurance. The preparation emails in the weeks leading up were super clear, helpful, and made us feel totally ready and in the best hands.

Once in Morocco, it was even better than I could have imagined. Beautiful accommodation, thoughtful touches to put us at ease, and a genuine sense we were in safe hands.

The trek itself was a perfect mix of challenge, fun, and adventure. For me, it was tough at times - mostly because my fear of heights crept in - but Jack and local guide Brahime made it totally doable. Their good humour, encouragement, and calm, steady energy made all the difference, and I made it to the summit!

The 24 hours we spent in the desert after the climb was the perfect way to unwind - super peaceful, restorative, and just stunning! The accommodation and food were again absolutely first class.

What I also loved was how much the Legend team values and looks after their local crew. They’re clearly well-respected, well-paid, and genuinely proud to be part of it all. Being invited into our local mountain chef’s home for lunch after our descent was something really special and something I’ll never forget.

So many incredible memories and lots of laughs. Already thinking about a safari next... and there’s no way I’d go with anyone else.

I have recently completed the 3 peak challenge with Jack and his team. We were expertly guided up each mountain with lots of encouragement and help at hand when needed. The attention to detail is second to none. All our needs were catered for including water when needed and meals waiting for us when we had finished each climb. All we needed to do was jump back in the minibus and be driven to our next destination. If you want to take on a challenge, look no further than Legend Expeditions as Jack and his team really are the best.

What an experience! Jack put on a well organised experience for a small group of us from ETC to complete the 3 peak challenge. From the beginning to the end everything was perfectly executed. The team Jack had with him were great. At all times I felt safe and comfortable, the encouragement from Jack and the team was great. Legend expeditions organised a faultless, bespoke adventure for a small team from our gym to the UK 3 Peaks. Every single detail was considered and planned to perfection. All you have to do is turn up and get climbing!!! They provide the transport, the food, the encouragement and the camaraderie!! The attention to detail was second to none. Even updating our family and friends with our progress so that we could concentrate on our challenge and rest between mountains. The Legends team Jack, Rory and Sam are very experienced and they make you feel confident and safe at all times. From start to finish I felt in safe hands. The professionalism & attention to detail was second to none. Everything was thought of in advance & all we had to do was climb the mountains. They even kept our family & friends informed of our progress through a WhatsApp group, which took away another worry for us. As hard as the challenge was, the Legends Team made it as easy as possible for us & even helped us have lots of fun. I can’t recommend them enough.
