Policy Over Customer Experience Company
Byrna's customer service reps are all polite and professional. The company just needs focus in on results over processes.
My Byrna CL arrived out of the box with rough edges, poor molding construction and loud rattling optic screws. These are facts that Byrna's CEO has publicly acknowledged with some of their Bryna CLs.
So when dealing with external, cosmetic issues that are acknowledged, I would expect the company to send a replacement ASAP. Byrna receiving the blemished launcher first is irrelevant for these specific situations.
Ideally, a replacement launcher should be sent as soon as they are made aware of the issue. I personally offered to take my CL to a local official Byrna retail store for proof.
At worst, once you can prove with a tracking number that you have sent the launcher back, a new one should be in the mail the same day.
They focus on hiding behind the "policy"rather than fast solutions. Does the company have that right? Of course they do. Consumers also have the right to choose a company with better service.
Byrna needs to understand the basics of customer service is to serve the customer. Work with us, give us options.
Less lethal defense is a rapidly growing space and it will be interesting to see how Byrna's approach to customer service will be received as competition increases.

Allison was very professional and sympathetic to my request. She did everything she could to accommodate my request and gave a me a response in adequate time. My original order was damaged during transit. After informing & verifying my purchase with Bryna's customer service they expedited a replacement. They also followed up to confirm the package was delivered after tracking stated a successful delivery.

I bought the Byrna CL based on their description of this model. My first mistake! Once I had it and tried it out, much to my chagrin I discovered it doesn’t work anywhere like the company advertised it! I’d do better with a slingshot! It’s not going to stop a dog let alone a person. You’d just be laughed at unless you’re really good shot and hit them directly in the eyeball! Way way way too expensive for what it is…..a toy, maybe?? Don’t buy this piece of junk, save your money and get a pellet gun at Tractor Supply or Atwoods, they’re cheaper and more effective!

My experience with your company is always amazing. before the sale during the sale after the sale warranty or even out of warranty, you guys always answer every question and you guys always help out no matter what! You’re shipping is extremely fast as well too. It’s quite amazing. Actually I thought I’d have to wait a week 10 days. My new launcher shows up in three had an issue with a part in a old launcher
Recently definitely out of warranty still, you guys did not hesitate to send me the piece which I was overly grateful for and because of it, I stay loyal to companies dad do business like that so now I’m the proud owner of the new CL. I could go on and on and on through text email phone call customer service is beyond 10 out of 10 your employees really make byrna the company it is. They deal with the general Public all the time, and if everyone gets treated the way I have over the years all your customers feel like royalty. I texted about my Cl I got an immediate and quick response. Everything perfect but I had to add the rest because this one interaction doesn’t tell the true story about how amazing all my experiences with customer service have been.

Sounds good on paper . . . .
I was impressed with the idea of the Byrna gun but, in practice, it was pretty disappointing. I started carrying it concealed instead of my Sig P365 because I'm 73 years old and I liked the idea of having a "non-lethal" option. However, after carrying it for a few weeks, I noticed that it started "leaking" the pepper spray from the magazine. Every time I picked it up I'd start sneezing and coughing. When I finally took out the magazine it was covered with white powder and, while choking and sneezing, I had to run the whole gun under the faucet to clean the powder out from all the nooks and crannies of the gun. Not cool . . .
Plus, when I tried to shoot the "training" ammo, even though I had put a new CO2 cartridge in it a few weeks before, even though I hadn't shot it in the meantime, it was empty of CO2 so I realized that it's really not a reliable method of self defense, after all.

I spoke with Maria today and she went above and beyond to answer all my questions regarding the new CL and accessories. She was so very kind and patient with this 76 year old 😊. I’ve purchased many Byrna’s since 2019 or 2020. And have been able to bless family members and friends with these for their safety. Literally any time over the years that I have needed to call….the customer service is absolutely outstanding in every way. All personnel are always kind, patient, helpful, respectful, gracious, and knowledgeable about all products.
