Byram Healthcare started off good

Byram Healthcare started off good, however it appears they may fired ALL of there American born customer service reps. Now we are stuck trying to talk to people with poor english. I have been trying to get a paper bill sent to me in the mail for the last 3 months. I call every three weeks or so to request a bill and all I get is the same "We are going to send you a bill in the mail and you should get it within 7 to 10 days. 30 days later i get nothing. If I could give Byram less than 1 star I would. Poor customer sevice equals, a race to the bottom..

Tried to get compression stockings

Tried to get compression stockings. Nobody there speaks properly for you to understand them properly. They just refer you to different departments because nobody feels responsible. Eventually I asked for a manager. They said the manager isn't available at the moment but will call me back. That call never came. I called in again. After being transferred back and forth again eventually somebody told me they don't work with our insurance. This person spoke proper English, so I trusted that this was the final answer. Our insurance claims they do work with them but I'm done.
Whenever I get a bad experience I usually just write no review because I know it's not easy to run a company and bad experiences just happen sometimes. This was bad enough to deserve a bad review

These people sent me what would be a 16…

These people sent me what would be a 16 year supply of Coactive Plus and Aquacel. (120 units of each, (12 boxees) with 120 units of Gauze Rolls.
The details are long but let me just condense this. They lied about what was ordered and they lied to my insurance rep and myself about sending me a shipping label. The original order date was April 16th and I tried to deal with this several times in May.
I have informed my Dr. and I have filed a complaint with the BBB. We will see where this goes next. If your Dr suggest products from these people run away and give your Dr. a link to Trustpilot or tell them to google search Byram Healthcare complaints! 247 reviews and 1.3 rating as of 6/13/25.

Horrible Company

I have only been using them for 6 months and can say their customer service is abysmal. Rude, uncaring, unhelpful. I went 3 weeks without monitoring my blood sugar with a CGM because they were "waiting on the provider" even though my provider sent the information multiple times. My provider also said this was a common issue with them and they cringe everytime they see Byrum Healthcare because they know it is going to be a major issue. I am traveling overseas and I was trying to get my prescription refilled sooner than I should, so I would not be without a monitor on my trip, but no dice. They will not fill it early and suggested I but glucose monitor and prick my fingers until I got back. No help and absolutely no concern for me as a person, patient, or customer. Horrible situation and I am searching for someone new if I can get it by my insurance company. I am sure they are in each other's pocket to save money and the patient health be damned.

Expect to go without supplies at least once a year

When I started CGM therapy on the G6 Byram was one of the only games in town that could actually get me the product, so I've continued using them for several years but it has never been a pleasant experience.

Once a year when your Rx expires they will put your order into "Waiting on Provider" Limbo and do the absolute bare minimum in regards to it. They might claim to have sent a fax, but that is about it. Then when you either call or try to chat the representative can tell you no information and will end the conversation with you mid sentence. When this happens you will want to complain, but Byram has no actual mechanism to do so, at least that they will provide.

This time though, I've had enough and am looking for a new Provider for my Sensors and I suggest everyone else do the same if they are able.

BEWARE!

BEWARE!
I have two small wounds on my ankle. In mid-March the doctor at a wound care clinic asked me if I would like him to order supplies for me. I agreed. He later told me that he describes the injury but Byram determines what the need is! They sent 2 large boxes - enough to equip a field hospital! At least 50 rolls of gauze, 36 abdominal pads (?), and other things I didn't need. There was no invoice in either box. The last time I needed supplies, Byram also sent too much but at least my insurance covered it. This time I ended up with 2 co-pays, totaling $71, billed on 4/26 and 5/1. Byram's policy is that products must be returned within 2 weeks. At that point, you have no idea what you are even going to be charged!
I called to register a complaint yesterday. The person i spoke with had a thick accent and was of no help. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after a wait, was told no one was available but that someone would call me back. Of course, that never happened.
I have donated the supplies to an a group of doctors who donate their time and travel overseas to perform surgery on children.
I see reports of debt collectors being called by Byram. Rather than argue about this any further, I am paying the bills and warning others to steer clear of Byram Healthcare.

Billing Errors

My insurance company and myself did a conference call with Byram's Billing Department today May 5, 2025. Byram is trying to bill me for two claims that were already paid under other claims TWO years ago. My insurance company told me I'm not responsible for the $209 that Byram is trying to bill me for as Byram has made billing errors. Byram Billing told my insurance company to send them the EOB, but my insurance company rep gave the Byram Billing rep the number for provider services so they can get the EOB and additional assistance. Also, Byram states it's my third notice and is threatening collections. This was the first notice I received and when I checked my online account there was only one statement regarding this matter not three. This entire phone call today took an hour and a half and I'm not convinced that Byram Billing will follow through and make the corrections. Also, there are a total of six denied claims with $0 liability on my part but given how Byram is trying to bill me for their errors, they will probably try to bill me for the remaining denied claims as well. If they send this to collections, I'm well prepared with evidence to show that Byram is at fault. And I will file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and my State Insurance Bureau and the BBB. And there is a law regarding all of this called the the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

This company is one of the worst I have worked with and I have been a nurse for 25 years. I am on an insulin pump and needed supplies for my insulin pump. It took them 6 weeks to even get the information that they needed. And I still haven't received my supplies. I had to make an appointment with my Dr to even get my supplies ordered. I have been on pump for over 10 years and have never had a worse experience.they don't realize that that I cant get insulin without them. Flabbergasted at how they even manage people with chronic diseases. People should have options cause this company doesn't care about your health in the slightest way. Cant wait to get a different insurance so I dont have to use this company.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. My mom had three unopened bundled together PleurX Catheters and I tried to return them because I was told by the healthcare provider that if the boxes were unopened, that you can return them.I made several calls and got a runaround and no return calls back from the manager.

Abysmal customer service

Absolutely the worst. I have had an order held up for well over a month. Byram blames the provider for not submitting requested information, and the provider states everything has been sent. Finally, a few days ago, a Byram rep checked and told me everything had been received, but website still states "Order in Progress." There is, apparently, no customer service on the weekend. I am leaving for Europe in a few days and will be without Dexcom sensors due to this company's inefficienies. This is not the first issue I've had with them. One person tells you one thing, and another tells you something else. I will be writing to the CEO, as I've learned that people at the top are often clueless about what goes on at the lower levels. Customer service is abysmal.

Update my review Terrible Company

I am an in home care provider. Byram is a inefficient company at best. Every month I call Byram reference the consumers CGM supplies and supplies are always delayed. They need a prescription or paperwork from the doctor is the usual excuse. I called last week and was told that all paperwork was in order and the supplies would ship in 3-4 business days. I called today because I have not received a text on the shipping status. I was told they need a prescription from the doctor. They claimed to not have the name of the prescribing doctor. The consumer has been a customer of Byram for over 2 years and the doctor has not changed how did her information get lost? Unfortunately, the insurance companies seem to go with the lower cost supplier and do not consider quality of the supplier.

I was contacted today by Ken a CS manager in the diabetes supply department and my issue has been resolved. Thank you, Ken, for getting back with me. Let's hope that going forward things will more efficient.

Run don't walk away from using Byram…

Run don't walk away from using Byram for your RX needs. Peoples Health or United Health Company uses Byram for 1 Medicare in particular RX. I knew from using them years ago to avoid them at all costs. My local pharmacy part of the states largest hospital network with dozens of 350+ hospitals about 5 within a 15 mile radius of where I live has their own in house pharmacy. They are incredible and deliver my meds the same day. I'm sure it's more then $10,000 a month. A lot by most standards. Just 1 Medicare and United forces my local pharmacy to go to a outside supplier. I'm sure it's to save a buck or 2 but it's my cheapest prescription of probably 15 I use. So, I called Byram and after wasting 30 minutes giving my policy info and repeatedly my Medicare number was asked if I've needed it in the past 5 years or pre-Covid. Sadly, Covid-19 is about the least important event in my very long life. I can think of 50 more important dates. Then I was told I had a old unpaid balance for a few bucks. So after wasting up to an hour I was passed on to another person in their accounts I guess. He didn't know who I was or what I needed or why I was transferred to him. The same rudeness I dealt with Byram before and had a NG next to their number in my cellphone. Within 15 seconds he just hung-up on me. My local pharmacy and the head pharmacy are Godsends. We live in the country and she's actually brought out meds after a 12 hour day. My problem still is unresolved and United gave me other providers but they will not under any condition fill this RX at my pharmacy. They blame it on Medicare and 'contractual' arrangements! I've run into certain meds they don't want to fill but give me alternates that are twice as expensive. Go figure. Please, don't use Byram. Eventually you will be poorly treated and stressed out.

Breast pump order unsuccessful

When ordering a breast pump, Byram was unable to verify my insurance and kept telling me they needed more information. The customer service representatives were not good at explaining what the problem was, and left me confused every time. It took more than two weeks of me calling them (by the way their phone system is also quite nonfunctional) and trying to get an answer and some direction before I finally gave up, canceled my order (reminder that a breast pump order is time sensitive!), and find another company who was able to process my order, confirm my insurance coverage, and deliver the product on less than 5 days. I would not recommend using Byram Healthcare.

Delay, delay, delay.... incredible inefficiency

My insurance changed on 1/1/2025. I knew it would be bad and did my best to be proactive. Insurance companies hold such a tight control on refills that any disruption means you will have to go without.
My endocrinologist went on medical leave. I can't get an appointment until April, 2024. My PCP saw me in order to get a 'Chart Note' required by Byram. Then they required a prescription w/new Dr. name as 'Treating Physician'. Then they required PCP to sign and date prescription. Then they required pre-authorization. Meanwhile each call I was told they had everything, and it would be shipped the next day. Their website is awful. The entire time, orders are canceled w/no explanation. They don't even show the canceled orders. They don't inform you of cancellation. Each time I called to say 'Where is my order that you confirmed?'

Frustrating delays

I would like to formally express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by Byram Healthcare. Despite my repeated submissions of referrals, it appears that they are not acknowledged unless I call to create/place a DME order. This inconsistency in communication is frustrating and leads to unnecessary delays in receiving the services. Calling within 24-72hrs after submitting a referral often feels too soon to expect a response, yet waiting beyond that timeframe still results in no acknowledgment or updates. The Byram Healthcare website does not allow me to place orders either, leaving phone calls as the only viable option for me. When I do reach out, I frequently encounter long wait times of 30-40 minutes before I am able to speak with a representative. Many of customer service representatives, particularly Mr. Cortez E., have been quite rude and unhelpful during our interactions. Their lack of professionalism and empathy is disheartening and disappointing. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously in order to improve the quality of service provided to patients.
