BEWARE OF THE MANICURED GRASS & SMILES THAT GREET YOU

WHILE THIS SCHOOL LOOKS GOOD ON THE EXTERIOR & ITS "ACADEMICALLY" QUALIFIED STAFF GREETS WITH A SMILE, IT'S A HUMAN ZOO! MY SON WAS PROMOTED DURING THE CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR TO A HIGHER GRADE & WAS "BULLIED" 85% OF THE TIME & THE "STAFF" CLAIMED TO NEVER SEE IT & NEVER DID ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAD 2 OTHER SONS GRADUATE FROM THAT SCHOOL & WAS WARNED BY THEM NOT TO SEND THEIR LITTLE BROTHER THERE. I WISH I HAD LISTENED.
I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL NOR DO I PLAN TO SEND MY SON BACK THERE.

Good school need a little adjustment

Good school but need some minor adjustment. I love the fact that the students are grouped in classroom according to how they learn. So that no child is left behind. The dismissal is terrible. The older students stand around in the halls and outside playing around making it difficult for the parents to go in and get their young children. I wish the school would either dismiss the older children earlier or make them leave. It really is frustrating to be bumped into on a daily basis by these kids and also being subjected to their foul language. Also another point that is very discouraging about the school is the fact that its a newer school with no cafeteria. All the teachers and administrative staff are wonderful. I would recommend this school but just prepare yourself for the dismissal if you have a child in a lower grade.

the school

The over all curriculum is wonderful. The only thing that I'm not liking is the bullying. The after school program is ok. I just don't like the fact that they don't help or check the kids homework. I also don't like the bullying that takes place there also.

Bullying

I think that an armed police officer at the school at dismissal sends the wrong message to youth. Also the policy for bullying isn't tough enough and bullying is prevalent at all grade levels. The school lacks diversity in staffing of educators. Staff could also benefit in a workshop on how to speak to parents about issues they have with the parent and or child. And to be careful of what is said in front of the children regarding their parent(s).

Mixed Feelings

Academically I am impressed with how much my daughter has learned thus far this year. I feel the work is challenging without being overwhelming. My problem comes with the rowdiness at dismissal. It seems that nobody really keeps the kids under control. Nobody ushers them away from the front of the building. The parents drive like nascar racers outside of the school after dismissal and it's only a matter of time before a kid gets hit. Overall, I give the school a 3 out of 5 stars.
