Bruno took us on a private tour of the Douro Valley. He was prompt, engaging, knowledgeable, funny and a very good driver. Our trip included visits to two small vineyards where the wine and port was superior. The quality exceeded the name brands available to us in the US and at very reasonable prices. Lunch was at a restaurant with a local clientele, and as you might expect, the restaurant was very good. The dishes were Portuguese. We had tried some of the dishes before. They were better at this restaurant. Bruno put together a tour with stunning views, good food and even better wine.

Do not waste any more time searching for a guide, book with Bruno immediately! You will not be disappointed. Bruno has incredible knowledge of all things in the Douro Valley and is an incredible guide – the best we have ever had an opportunity to use, and we have had numerous guides (the vast majority have been excellent). Bruno is personable and within a brief period it felt like we were visiting with a good friend. We visited two small vineyards, both were exceptional. Definitely the best day of our three-week vacation in Portugal! Thank-you Bruno.

Bruno took the guess work out of it. He provides such a personalized tour of the Douro Valley and provides you so much information about the region and what it means to the people and what it was like growing up here. The tastings and the lunch make you feel like you are part of the family. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

Bruno is a fabulous guide who will make sure that your day in the Douro Valley is perfect! He customized the itinerary to meet our desires exactly. In addition to spectacular scenery and fascinating sights, we enjoyed an amazing personalized tour of a small winery that included a homemade feast for lunch.

Bruno customized our tour after learning our background and interest. He had a wealth of knowledge of Douro, past and present. He was amazing! Bruno also has a great personality with a good sense of humor. He arranged wonderful wine tours and private lunches for us. He also took us to spots off the beaten path that only a local would know. We highly recommend him as he made our trip to Portugal very memorable.

Based upon pre-visit emails, Bruno thoughtfully curated our perfect day in the Duoro Valley. We visited two small family owned wineries hosted by talented people who've been creating Port wine for generations. Both were wonderful, from the people to the Port to the table wines. A lovely private lunch was prepared by one of the owners and shared on the deck of her home overlooking her vineyard.
The day included stops at Lamego's beautiful cathedral, tasty pastries from a local coffee shop, photo ops, interesting stories about Portuguese history and personal stories about Bruno's experience with Port wine production. It was a great day. We highly recommend touring with Bruno!

We had come to Douro looking for both the Douro experience, as well as potential purchase locations.
We slowly climbed through the valley on cold foggy day, but the information we were getting from Bruno was priceless. We went to one of the oldest Port makers in the area, we had a magnificent lunch on the river, we went to some incredible wineries, and feel that there is no way we could have got as much information or history of the Douro without Bruno.
I would definitely book Bruno again and would encourage anybody else to do so. He was fantastic, fun and very friendly.

My friend and I hired Bruno to be our guide for a day in the Douro Valley last week while visiting Porto. From even before booking our tour, Bruno was very helpful in answering my questions and quick to respond.
After booking, Bruno continued to be proactive in confirming our itinerary and best means to reach him on the day of our tour.
On the day of our tour, we were picked up from our hotel on time in Bruno’s immaculate car. He also had bottled water for us, which was nice given the number of tastings we would be consuming! :)
Bruno shared some history of the region with us and we both enjoyed chatting with him and asking follow up questions. Our two winery tours were both fantastic and we especially enjoyed the authentic local food that had been prepared for us at our second stop.
Both my friend and I would not hesitate to book with Bruno again or to recommend him to anyone traveling to the Porto area. He was a lot of fun to be around and we enjoyed learning about the area and taking in the BEAUTIFUL scenery.

Bruno was amazing from the start and gave us fantastico day in wine country.
My wife and her 2 sisters were visiting from The States and were hoping to get someone who give us secret little places to visit along with the wine tour and lunch.
Bruno exceeded our hopes and went way beyond our expectations.
He knows his history and took us to places with amazing views and other special stops
that were off the beaten path where there were no crowds.
The wineries were amazing, and the lunch was right out of something you see in a movie
about a family style picnic lunch outside in Portugal.
Id love to tell you what wineries we visited and what his secret stops are but since he obviously put quite a bit of work into giving his guests a perfect day.

Bruno was fantastic. We got an excellent lesson in the history of the region on our way to Duoro.
The beautiful drive around Duoro was made that much better because of Bruno's knowledge of the region.

Having recently spent two delightful days in the Douro Valley in Bruno's excellent care, I heartily encourage travelers to seek him out for an optimal experience. Bruno listened to what we really wanted to see and do, and delivered far beyond what our wildest expectations could have been. Advice to travelers? Let Bruno be your guide in the Douro Valley and Porto!

Bruno gave my family a wonderful tour of the Douro Valley - it was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. From the moment he picked us up, he began telling us about the history of the region. We stopped for a few photo ops at beautiful old cathedrals in the area before starting our wine tasting. Bruno took us to two amazing wineries where we tasted both table wines and ports. We had a lovely lunch at the second stop, and plenty of good conversation to go along with it. I was afraid it would be a boring day for our two children, but they loved lunch and even enjoyed learning about the history and winemaking process! I would definitely book with Bruno again if we returned to the area.

Bruno orchestrated a wonderful day trip to the Douro Valley for my group of four. He worked with us ahead of time to customize a tour with a morning of hiking and an unforgettable afternoon of wine tasting at Quinta de Folgosa Velha. During the long car trip from Porto, he regaled us with stories from Portuguese history and his own experiences living and working in the Douro Valley. Throughout, he was communicative, reliable, friendly, and fun! We heartily recommend Bruno!

I can't say enough wonderful things about our adventure with Bruno. He was punctual, communicative, thorough, interesting, knowledgable and just fun to be around. He spent the entire day (and more) showing us his home and culture. I hope that you have the opportunity to spend a day with Bruno sometime!

Bruno is a wonderful guide. He is so knowledgeable about the history of Portugal, the Douro Valley and the still and port wines of the region. We loved tasting wines at family owned vineyards and learning from the vintners whose families have been producing wine for many generations. Of course, the Douro Valley is a beautiful place to visit and Bruno brought the valley to life with his warm personality and experience having grown up in the Douro Valley and having worked in every phase of the wine making process.

Bruno was a great guide - met us on time out our Quinta, showed us the beauty and history and small producers of the Douro valley. If you’re debating just organizing your own outing vs a tour, I’d strongly recommend this tour: You can relax with a great driver and guide, and he will show you places and producers you cannot find on your own (in some cases places that are not available to the public.) he also has a great history of the area and is a great tour guide. Five stars for sure! This was a fantastic day.
