The tool itself has a great UI. The only thing it can do well is convince people to upgrade to their paid plan. Then you realize it cannot be used to build real-world value. Regardless of the prompt i... See more

Experienced heavy user, giving up
As an experienced heavy user, using this for months from many small components to attempting to build larger form interfaces. I can say you cant build anything of use purely with bolt. It's about as useful as a gimmicky toy or small code generator. I got stuck in a sunk cos fallacy, I spent around 200 million tokens to get more and more AI slop on a simple 5 step form. Upgrading the subscription to "almost save the project" digs the hole deeper until every prompt got a hallucination or lost work, revert stopped working so i was paying to "fix" bugs and create more, or silently lose huge chunks of work that took hours. Exporting to hand fix the code is like like opening a suitcase full of dogsh**t spaghetti mess that will take hours to unpick.
Worst AI APP Ever
They AI builds website fast but than the nightmare begins. Tokens go fast, for every minor change they eliminate a lot of tokens. IT takes tyou around 500k-1milion tokens to do a simple change such as create a new tab and ad some text and sometimes is still not doing it. You cannot connect your website to an admin or visual editor for you or your customer to do simple changes. It is possible but you need really strong knowledge about coding, if you are a beginner you have no chance. Customer support does not exist or is not helpfull. i will not go with this app at all
What a waste of time and money!
What a waste of time and money. Simple requests cannot be accomplished. Keeps playing dumb and burns your tokens. You cannot event find your projects form the main page. It is saved as a chat history on the left hand pane :) like in ChatGPT
I just spent $25 for nothing.
Bought bolt.new
Bought bolt.new, worked on website for 2 days
All tokens and even subscription vanished along with my website.
Has been 1-2 weeks and have yet to hear back from customer service except from there AI bot telling me "there's no evidence of you ever having a subscription"
I wasn’t impressed with the software…
I wasn’t impressed with the software but the customer service was FANTASTIC. I requested a refund on a Sunday and a REAL person responded within 3min. My refund was given in less than 24 hrs w such a friendly person.
Once they get the bugs worked out, I will definitely come back to them again.
Potentialy good app, bad costumer support and features
The good- nice interface, most of the the time easy changes can be applied. best suited for engineers or simple creations.
The bad- token usage and costumer support. I have a problem with connecting to GitHub and therfore tracking chnages of the project. tried to reach them about a month now, nothing happened. Really frustrating since the agent makes changes it doesnt explain beforehand and now i'm in a neverending loop of trying to fix things with him. On the other hand, my credit card expired- I got 3 emails from them whithin a day.
Helpful but Unreliable
I was working on a dashboard using the paid plan, and after making just one change the entire interface broke, leaving only scattered icons. I spent hours trying to restore the original design but could not. The experience was very frustrating. The flashy YouTube videos make it look perfect, but in reality it can be disappointing.
I first rated it one star, but later updated my rating to three. Despite its issues, it still helped me once I stopped relying on it fully and instead used it for smaller tasks step by step.
worst AI tool ever used in 2025
worst AI ever used in 2025
I used the bolt.new last month, ran out of tokens, and then switch to $50 month plan, found the AI experience was not that well. I wanted to cancel the subscription, but the website told that once the subscription was cancelled, i would lost all tokens, unfair, right?
then I downgraded to $20 monthly plan and I now it is Aug , I found the website did not allow me to cancel, either error or not help at all. I sent mail to the ask for cancellation, only got AI response, not helpful at all.
so if you guys are still in business, please help to cancel my subscription. it is not big money, but your way of deal with clients won't make you successfully or rich.
reached support in discort, the feedback is I have to pay $20 for another month.
I have to pay $70 for one day usage.
here is their reply
"Right now the system can’t cancel an active plan mid-billing cycle so the $20 plan will continue until the end of this month THEN after that you can cancel completely and you would need to delete your own account as they have no responsibility to do so"
I belive it is robbery.
Bolt has stolen 10M tokens
I got a bug when Bolt was changing LLM model and because of their update - 10M tokens vanished from my account (it was simply zeroed) in 1 second. Support is ignoring for 4th day. Very bad experience comparing to Lovable.
Great code Vibing tool
Great code Vibing tool, works great with a lot of intergrations. Especially when you follow the documentation and there is great help on discord if you're stuck. They also do a lot with feedback you deliver and it's been improving tremendously over the last half year.
Lying AI
The AI works well for projects of roughly 1,000 lines of code or less. Beyond that point it tends to hallucinate or even tell lies: it claims to have made changes it hasn’t while it chews through tokens fast, and even rewrites or deletes stable functions when you only ask it to change something minor—like a logo or icon. Even when enabling the 'dynamic reasoning'.
In its current form it’s really unusable for building production-quality apps.
The team behind it is friendly (they once refunded my tokens), but that doesn’t fix the AI’s inaccuracies and erratic behavior.
BOLT.NEW was the worst experience!!!!
I cannot tell you just how truly disappointing and frustrating this whole experience has been. I got ALL THE WAY done with the app build 3 times, just needing to add monetization for deployment, and mysteriously it (the code) disappeared EVERY TIME! I caught this AI (in its own words) 'red handed' lying to me, sabotaging the build, only to get caught up in a never-ending loop of time-wasting chats that never led to any different positive outcome. If you really are serious about building an app that is stable, and capable of making a buck, PLEASE do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. If you don't, and you read this, don't say you weren't warned!
Not worth it to buy
Not worth it to buy, this stupid AI repeat the same thing. wasting token
bolt cant edit pages
bolt cant edit pages, you better be happy with what it spits out, i used 2 million tokens and 4 hours of my life trying to change 4 images, very disapointing
Disappointing Experience with Bolt.new Professional Plan
Summary
Bolt.new's free trial creates false expectations that don't translate to the paid experience. Significant technical issues and poor token efficiency make the professional plan a questionable investment.
My Experience
I upgraded to Bolt.new's Professional plan today, expecting the same smooth performance I experienced during the free trial. Unfortunately, the paid experience has been drastically different.
Key Issues Encountered:
Token Consumption Problems:
Burned through 5,000+ tokens (50% of my monthly allocation) in a single day
Most tokens were consumed fixing platform-generated errors rather than building features
Poor token efficiency compared to other AI development platforms
Technical Reliability:
Preview page consistently fails to load
System errors require multiple correction attempts
Platform instability disrupts development workflow
Error resolution consumes valuable tokens without producing usable code
Free vs. Paid Discrepancy:
Free trial worked seamlessly with minimal issues
Paid plan introduces numerous technical problems
Significant performance degradation after payment processing
Concerns About Business Model
The dramatic difference between free trial performance and paid plan reliability raises questions about intentional token consumption strategies. When platform errors force users to repeatedly prompt for corrections, it artificially inflates token usage while delivering minimal value.
Recommendation
For developers considering Bolt.new:
Test extensively during the free trial period
Monitor token consumption patterns carefully
Have backup development solutions ready
Consider alternatives like Cursor AI, V0, or traditional development environments
Bottom Line: While the concept is promising, execution issues and poor token efficiency make it difficult to recommend the professional plan at this time. The platform needs significant reliability improvements before justifying the subscription cost.
Just awful
Just awful. Didn't even build anything. Just said it did and then gaslighted me saying it did. Waste of time.
The bolt.new platform is the worst I…
The bolt.new platform is the worst I ever experienced. They draw you with a free trial where everything works normally but once you registered, be rest assured that you aren't going to get nothing from the subscription.
My story, I upgraded to the professional plan just today and before you know it, I've used over 5,000 out of 10,000 token on professional plan. The token were used basically to correct errors from their system. The preview page never loads. I should think, the algorithm is built such that once they collect your money, you'll be having issues to be resolved on the same page while you continue prompting which affects your token usage ultimately. If anyone is planning to use them, be ready to loose your money for no reason.
Worst thing ever just wasted $200 worth…
Worst thing ever just wasted $200 worth of tokens and deleted my whole project I spent months on
started out well but when I tried to actually make it functional it presented a 1980s version of the site and wouldnt do anything. The live test links only provided white screens....
HORRIBLE PRODUCT... dont waste your money like I did... it started out well... the design wasnt great but it worked... when I tried to update the back end (using ChatGPT to help) it cut off half the home page and turned it into a 1980s display... then I wouldnt revert back to the version needed. I have GitHub connected but this has wasted days of work. when I tried to get it back on track it couldn't do it... and the test links provided just went to white screens... HORRIBLE PRODUCT
why does making the back end work remove COPY from the homepage... behind frustrating and a complete waste of time and money
Bolt new is the worst time wasting…
Bolt new is the worst time wasting piece of crap .It will act on its own remove your work multiple times and still your tokens on nonsense's away from bolt. Nothing else but headache.I contacted them several times but no response to email to message. No phone number to call. Had 4 projects there HATE THEM.
