An absolute highlight of our holiday.

Sea fishing and touring the fjord with Samson was brilliant - gaining understanding of his perspective of the water and the land was hugely insightful.

Then taking the satisfaction of eating the fish we'd landed earlier that day, expertly prepared by Myrna and Kristian, was hugely enriching.

The whole experience gave myself and my partner such more tangible understanding of the way of life in the Faroes.

Would recommend to anyone visiting the Faroes.

I highly recommend the fish, visit, & dine in Hvannasund with Samson! We had so much fun learning to fish and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Faroe Islands. The views were unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. We were lucky enough to see the puffins and even luckier to be out on the water on a beautiful sunny day. Samson was so helpful while we were catching fish, which made us feel like experts! We caught many fish on our trip, which was very exciting! We were then invited to Myrna’s family home to enjoy local Faroese food and spend a wonderful evening talking about family, culture, and the beautiful life stories living in the Faroe Islands. We could not have asked for a better experience on our first trip to the Faroe Islands. You will not be disappointed!

Our fishing trip in the Faroe Islands with our guide Sampson was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we set out, Sampson’s knowledge, warmth, and deep connection to the land and sea made the experience both exciting and deeply meaningful. We caught more fish than we could have hoped for—an absolute thrill in such a stunning, rugged landscape.

What made the day even more special was the kindness and hospitality of Myrna and her family. After our trip, they graciously welcomed us into their home and prepared a traditional Faroese meal using the fish we had caught. Sitting at their table, sharing food and stories, was one of the most authentic and heartwarming cultural experiences we’ve ever had. They even gave us a tour of their village, sharing its history and showing us places we never would have discovered on our own.

This wasn’t just a fishing trip—it was a glimpse into the heart of the Faroe Islands. We are incredibly grateful and can’t recommend this experience enough.

We had an absolute wonderful trip with Samson. Samson was like a friend from the start. The fishing, the sight seeing, the thoughtful cups of tea and coffee, the lessons we learned about Faroese culture and all the encouragement while we were learning to catch fish. I cannot recommend this experience enough. This was our most memorable experience in the Faroe Islands. We were able to catch lots of fish with Samsons help and we brought our fish to a local friend nearby to have dinner in the next town over. We were invited in like family and we enjoyed a wonderful evening with great food and company. I highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting the Faroe Islands. You will have the best time of your life!

Really nice fella takes you out fishing. Talks a bit about the area. Guts your fish. Goes out of his way to make your trip nice and enjoyable. Serves you a legendary snack bar. Top day out.

He showed us his homeland, took us to his personal highlights and introduced us to seabirds and the local fish. Of course we were successful at fishing!
The aftercare after the trip, including sending us his personal photos, was also top-notch!

Best tour in Faroe Islands! We went on the family 4 hour trip to Funningsfjørður with Samson. It was the absolute highlight of our Faroe Islands trip. He was quite knowledgeable about Faroese history and natural environment. The boat was of the traditional design and we caught many fish. He provided all the equipment and gear (outerwear, boots, life jacket etc) and everything was in excellent condition. Even our surliest teen was fully engaged for the whole trip. I would definitely recommend this tour/company for anyone. Very professional but very personable. Also quite reasonably priced considering the superior quality of the experience.

We had an excellent fishing trip with Samson ! Everything was perfect we really loved our journey and we definitely come back again if we could.

It is a very convivial and enjoyable experience. More than just a fishing trip, it is a chance to admire the impressive cliffs from the sea and discover some sinous caves by boat. Highly recommended.

Samson is a professional, respectful and safe captain. He knew the weather, navigation and fishing very well. It was an excellent experience with lots of fish.

A wonderful day at sea, even though it was a bit windy - and with an excellent guide. Samson shared of his knowledge, both to the places we passed, and the fishing. We caught a lot of fish. It was a spesial feeling sitting in a wooden boat, so close to the sea. You won't miss this!

We had a wonderful time fishing and enjoying the meal after. Samson was a great guide- he found fantastic fishing spots but also took us to other unique areas and shared a lot of info about Faroese history, culture, and wildlife. The meal at Frida’s house was delicious and Frida was a wonderful host. Would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable day!

Went to Faroe Islands primarily for fishing. There are never guarantees for the weather or to catch anything. We were lucky to have a superb day with the fishing guide Samson and had both sunshine and lots of catches. We caught cod, haddock, mackerell and whiting.
The guide was excellent and professional, took well care of everyone in the boat. I appreciated that it was a small traditional Faroese vessel and not a large boat with 10+ people onboard.
Security routines in place, professional and well maintained gear e.g. rods, inflatable vests, boots and suits.
We also had the opportunity to watch birds and visit some caves whilst sipping on coffee and a light meal.
Overall a great experience and if I visit the islands again I will surely book with Samson again.

Being able to interact with local residents to learn more about their history and customs is what Boat.fo delivers in an intimate setting. By far one of our families best experiences.
