If you have tried every diet, every tracking app, and every points system and watched the weight come back, the problem was never your willpower. It was the subconscious programming driving you to overeat. Mochi Zen is the only weight loss app that fixes why you overeat and tracks what you eat, all in one place. A hypnotherapy app for weight loss, anxiety, sleep, and burnout Mochi Zen pairs hypnotherapy audio sessions built on Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), the method developed by Marisa Peer, with AI-powered nutrition tracking. Most diet apps tell you what to eat. Mochi Zen works on the reason you reach for food when you are stressed, bored, anxious, or exhausted: the emotional eating patterns, the constant food noise, the late-night cravings that no meal plan has ever fixed. Because eating, mood, and rest are connected, Mochi Zen also includes hypnotherapy sessions for anxiety and sleep. When you sleep better and worry less, the cravings quiet down on their own. The app also includes a burnout session series for anyone running on empty: the ones who take care of everyone else first, push through exhaustion, and reach for food or lose sleep because of it. These RTT-based sessions work on the subconscious beliefs that make it so hard to rest, say no, and put yourself back on your own list. Everything in one app Alongside the RTT-based hypnosis sessions, Mochi Zen includes an AI meal scanner that logs your food from a photo, a macros calculator, USDA food database logging, a weight tracker, and a daily journal. It is available on iOS, Android, and the web, with a free tier and a 7-day free trial of the full experience. The science behind hypnosis for weight loss Hypnotherapy is not a gimmick. In a study published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology (Kirsch et al., 1995), people who added hypnosis to their weight loss program lost more than twice the weight of those who dieted alone, and the results held at a two-year follow-up. In October 2025, a first-of-its-kind trial at Hadassah Medical Center found that participants who completed six hypnosis sessions simulating gastric sleeve surgery lost an average of 10% of their body weight, with 86% still losing at three months, results comparable to actual bariatric surgery. For anyone exploring alternatives to weight loss medications, hypnotherapy offers an evidence-supported approach with no injections and no side effects, one that retrains the mind driving the habits rather than suppressing appetite temporarily. Built by a certified RTT hypnotherapist Mochi Zen was created by Paola Mendez, a certified RTT hypnotherapist trained by Marisa Peer, a certified yoga teacher, and a former software developer with more than a decade in tech. After leaving her tech career and experiencing burnout firsthand, she discovered hypnotherapy through her own healing and watched clients in her Miami practice, Pao Hypnosis, rebuild their relationship with food, movement, and their own bodies. She built Mochi Zen to make that same transformation available to anyone with a phone: the app she wishes she had during her own years of putting everyone else first. Who Mochi Zen is for Mochi Zen is for chronic dieters, emotional eaters, burned-out overgivers, and women whose minds will not slow down at night, especially women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who have done every program and are ready to try something that works differently. Many of our happiest users came in skeptical about hypnosis and were surprised by how natural it felt, like a deeply relaxing guided meditation with lasting results. Following the program and listening to sessions before bed every night helped me tremendously with my anxiety. It also helps with general relaxation and sleep!
I have dealt with anxiety for most of my life, and nighttime has always been when my mind gets the loudest. I can be completely exhausted and still struggle to quiet my thoughts enough to truly relax.
Mochi Zen has become part of my nightly routine, and I genuinely look forward to using it. I put on a session, close my eyes, and for once I do not feel like I have to force my brain to stop thinking. I simply have something calming and gentle to follow.
What I love most is that it does not feel like another thing I am supposed to “work on.” It feels comforting. It has helped make bedtime feel peaceful instead of something I brace myself for.
I use Mochi Zen every single night now, and I am incredibly grateful I found it. ❤️
