Stealing My Money!

Why are they charging me money? I'm not a member, and I've never been a member, yet for the past two months they have taken money out of my bank account - and I can't even get in touch with them to find out why!!!

Worse perks for most premium Membership

I want to formally express my disappointment regarding the recent changes made to the Blink Fitness premium membership, now under PureGym’s management.

As one of the earliest members of Blink Fitness in New York, I joined when the company first emerged as a competitive alternative to Planet Fitness. I have consistently maintained the highest-tier membership currently priced at over $40 per month based specifically on the benefits that were originally guaranteed:
Unlimited access to all Blink Fitness locations
Unlimited guest privileges, allowing me to bring a companion on every visit

These features were a core reason for choosing and maintaining this premium membership. However, I’ve recently learned that, following the acquisition by PureGym, the guest policy has been drastically altered now limiting guest access to only 4 visits per month. Despite this major reduction in benefits, the premium monthly fee remains unchanged.
This change is both unfair and unacceptable. It amounts to a breach of the original membership agreement and undermines the value that I and many other long-time members signed up for and have continued to pay for. To put it plainly: I am being charged for a level of service that is no longer being delivered. That is not just frustrating, it borders on deceptive business practice.

I urge PureGym to immediately reconsider this policy and restore the unlimited guest privileges to all existing premium members who signed up under those original terms. At minimum, clear communication and transparent options should be provided to affected members regarding how they can adjust their membership or be compensated accordingly.

I hope to see this resolved promptly and appropriately.

Membership Canceled Still Being Charged

I canceled my Blink Fitness membership in May 2025 and, as requested, sent proof that I no longer reside in the United States. Despite this, Blink has continued to charge my account every month.

I reached out, provided documentation, and followed their instructions, yet the billing has not stopped. A cancellation should mean cancellation, it should not take months of chasing and multiple emails to stop unauthorized charges. This is not the first time Blink customer service failed me, they don’t care about their customers, they only care about money

Blink was better 3 years ago

Blink was better 3 years ago. Since the change of staff and new management it’s gone to absolute shit. The machines are less and though they’re new they’re ALWAYS broken and take MONTHS to have them fixed. For $25 mo it’s not worth it. The machines that are not broken are always taken by hs kids. I had to get a second membership elsewhere because of the lack of working machines and over abundance of high school kids not using the machines but socializing on the machines. Other gyms are far better. This gym is dirty, bathrooms are disgusting, and equipment is always broken for months on end, management sucks and staff isn’t helpful.

Terrible Gym

Crowded every day at every hour, broken equipment that takes months to fix, charges a sign up fee, a maintenance fee, and a cancelation fee. I bought a lock from one of their vending machines and it charged my card, didn't give me a lock, and they said they couldn't refund me.

Budget gym that somehow manages to be…

Budget gym that somehow manages to be insanely overpriced. You won't be able to get a workout here unless you have all day. They don't have enough machines, and oversell memberships. The result is endless waiting to get even a basic workout in. People hog the machines, Blink does not care. More equipment is needed. Again, Blink does not care. They are going out of business. Proof that sometimes good triumphs over evil.

Bad Customer service

The customer service is very disappointing. I signed up for a month and paid for the cancellation immediately. I was visiting NYC for a month and communicated this, and I was told it was not a problem. However, I recently discovered they are still charging me and refusing to refund me, even though they have acknowledged my cancellation.AVOID!

Discontinued Towel Service

Blink Fitness – 16th East 14th Street
Clean, affordable, and staffed with friendly employees. I've been a member for two years and would have given a higher rating, but I’m disappointed with a recent change: they removed their towel service without any notice to members.

When I asked the front desk staff why, their only explanation was that the decision came from upper management. One of the main reasons I initially signed up was because they offered towel service, even though it came at an additional monthly cost. It’s not just a convenience—it’s a necessity when working out and especially for post-workout showers.

Frankly, I’m baffled. What gym doesn’t offer towel service these days? If this change isn’t reversed, I might have to start looking for a gym that understands its members' needs better.

Bankrupt in the DFW area

Bankrupt in the DFW area. Mismanagement by the ragged owner. Charged me a maintenance fee of 60.00 and turned me into a third party to pay it. If you got the same treatment do not pay it. I found out to not pay it. Ignore this idiot. Never checked on his gyms and ran it into the ground. A real dingo. Called to get my money back and no one nowhere knows what to do. Do not join this ragged gym!!

Unresponsive management and poor customer service

They were unable to resolve a very simple issue at their location in Boerum Hill. Completely unresponsive management. It was disappointing. Had they employed basic customer service I wouldn’t of had to cancel my membership but I was so disappointed with the experience that I canceled and joined a gym across the street. Don’t bother joining this gym.

I have been tussling with Blink for…

I have been tussling with Blink for almost a year now over a personal training charge that is showing on my balance. I went into the gym in October 2023 and spoke to a representative in-person, I told them that I wanted to cancel the personal training sessions as they were on auto payment. The person I spoke to said that they would cancel the service. They dropped the ball and did not take care of it and I was charged the following month. I called and went to the gym and they said to contact member services via email which I did. Member services keeps asking me to provide them with a copy of my signed cancellation form, a receipt from my final payment, or a certified letter receipt. What they can't seem to grasp is I have been dealing with this since October 2023 and if I had this I would've provided it to them months ago. The employee dropped the ball and did not have me sign anything nor did they provide me with anything. I trusted that they took care of this and that there was nothing further for me to do.

Personal trainers have NO accreditations

The personal trainers have NO discernible qualifications. The trainer they assigned (who was very nice) kept me doing lunges even though i said it hurt. Now i need a double knee replacement and my back is acting up because I couldn’t walk straight. With 20/20 hindsight as an overweight 60+ female the trainer really should have known better. I was on autopay and kept getting charged because you can only stop autopay in person - and I couldn’t walk that far for a month! They contacted me constantly to try another trainer and only stopped when i asked for the qualifications of the trainers. And really they only stopped when instead of telling them what qualifications i was looking for i sent a WSJ article listing accredited trainer training programs.

The gym is close to my home

The gym is close to my home. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Especially the Manager Malcom. And one of my favorite associates is Vincent. He is personable and so do friendly and motivating. I usually see him on Saturday and Sunday mornings. It is the highlight of my morning. He greets each guest with a smile and a hearty good morning. He is truly an assist to gym. The Blink Fitness that I frequent is located at 98 Ave A in the East Village in Manhattan. Thank you.

Bare bones and excellent

Bare bones, lots of various Hammer new strength equipment and free weights. If you're self-directed, willing to wipe down equipment each time with their plentiful wet paper towels, don't want classes, want to pay a low price by comparison, Blink in Manhattan is ideal. They have trainers for hire as well.

Stay away. You will be fraudulently charged.

You will be fraudulently charged if you attempt to cancel your membership.
I moved to a state where there are no blink gyms, cancelled my membership
in March and to this day I am being threatened over unpaid dues literally over 90 days past the cancellation, having been forced to pay for 3 consecutive months after cancelling.

Stay away from blink. Their actual business is too poor to exists honestly and so they slink by on threats and fraud.
