People frequently found the food quality disappointing, describing dishes as cold, stale, tough, or tasteless, often with small portions that did not justify the high prices. Poor, lost the will to please. Service OK, just, food poor especially the steak which was extremely tough. Dessert OK but not exciting. Overall mediocre, I won't bother again and not cheap.

Went to the Preston branch with a group…

Went to the Preston branch with a group of friends for a celebration. I ordered two dishes from the early doors menu at £17 was charged £21 despite paying a £5 deposit - that was £27 for a two course meal. The vegetable bourginion was awful. It came with solid mash potato that was like instant mash and the vegetables were sparse and overcooked- half a soggy carrot, three tiny shallots that had gone soft and three halves of mushroom. Other people’s food looked ok but mine was dismal!

Hidden charges ruined an otherwise great experience

Nottingham restaurant the food was amazing, top marks for the food; however, the staff added £17 to my bill as a discretionary service charge, there was nothing discretionary about it, I didn't notice until the morning. I was not asked or advised about this and feel like they have stolen from me. I will never go there again, it's a real shame because the food was amazing but I feel hoodwinked.

Preston branch

Preston branch. I had see bass and was very good. My friend had rosted lamb which was so bad. It had more fat than meat. Horrible drinke. Aperol spritz contains so much water that was hardly pink colour instead of red and pornstar martini has 1/3 small glass of prosecco instead of full.

Well we had booked this mealwhen were…

Well, we had booked this meal when were in our local home town’s restaurant having a very well organised afternoon tea (Kidderminster.) we arrived at 7.30 for our pre booked table (at Torquay) and were shown to our wobbly table! Which we then took it upon ourselves to move. Waited 15 minutes to be even served a drink and we had to ask if our order could be taken. Food wasn’t really being served to any other guests at this time! Again we had to call the waitress over to order more drinks, no apology or service was given. Other people had only received their soup course, we hadn’t received anything at all apart from a drink each… my husband noticed that a beer was been poured that wasn’t what he’d ordered and he requested that it needed to be changed! He is a diabetic and at this time during us waiting nearly 90 minutes hadn’t even received a first course from our 6 courses. A couple next to us decided they would leave after they’d only received their soup course. We gave it another 10 minutes and decided to do the same, which was a shame as we had travelled in a taxi from our holiday destination in Goodrington costing £15 to receive no food! Before leaving I went to speck to a manager to explain what had happened and he seemed oblivious to it all and the commotion his restaurant was in? I told him how appalling the service was and I wouldn’t ever return to this restaurant and also wouldn’t be paying for our drinks! No reason could be give to say why we hadn’t had any food and other customers looked to be in the same situation! I went back downstairs to where we were sitting and told our waiter what we were doing “ we are leaving and not paying for drinks” and his reply was “I don’t blame you!” I’m very disappointed in the whole situation and then had to return in another £15 taxi without food back to our holiday resort. I have worked in hospitality myself and understand the pressure of a busy restaurant but I have never experienced anything like this before, no Apologies were given whilst we were waiting for 90 minutes by any member of staff.

Weston Super Mare food was awful......had pork medallions and they were dry and meal was cold. I told Waiter when he collected the hardly eaten food and he just said ' oh sorry'. I then had the sticky toffee pudding which had been microwaved so much was hard on outside. I wish i had complained there and then as my Daughter and I bad tummy all night, my Grandaughter was fine she had the pasta. I even emailed the branch on morning to complain but they haven't even bothered to reply......what a waste of £75

Sagging, tired old beds. Poor service

We stayed one night at Rooms at Bistrot Pierre in Ilkley and it was the worst night I have ever had in a hotel because the bed was in such a poor state. The customer service at the property was minimal, they seem to use the restaurant staff to check people in and out. I emailed the property the next day and after initially responding, the manager disappeared completely for about a week. Apparently this was for personal reasons but a contingency contact or out-of-office reply should have been in place. Eventually, we made contact again and he was apologetic and understanding and I was refunded in full. But I really had to work for it!

Bistrot Pierre Southport

We visited Bistrot Pierre in Southport on the 10th June.
The restarant looked quite busy, but we were given a choice of tables which would accommodate, the 2 of us.
Starters and main courses plus wine were chosen and we gave our order to one of the waiters. We waited and waited, for the wine to arrive or the starters. Eventually they did.
However, a small plate would have been helpful for us, on which to place our tapas- like food instead of having to use our forks and eat from the centre of the table!
Our main courses arrived, after another long wait.
The fish cake, I had chosen was tasty and well presented, but to be honest, i have bought bigger fish cakes on my weekly shop.
The haddock my partner received, was again well presented and tasty, but such a small portion!
We never eat sweets, but felt that we still needed some food, so we went for the Cheese and biscs, and waited and waited and waited again.
In fact the whole experience was unacceptable!
The party on the next table to us also had to ask the waiter 'How long will our sweets be, weve been waiting ages!'
The service charge already on the presented bill, is also unacceptable! We always tip, but to have this placed on our bill in advance, is unacceptable!!
Needless to say, we won't be returning!

Disgraceful service

Went to the Southport branch. This pretends to be a French restaurant but would never survive 5 minutes in France. The food was acceptable 3+ stars but the service was a disgraceful 1- star. Say a 2 star average. As someone who has spent nearly 40 years in the hospitality business, I blame management. If the local management can`t do the job, then the national management should realise this and make changes. None of the people I met would ever be allowed to work for me without further training. I did not pay the discretionary service charge and will never return.

Ben is a very poor manager

To the management of Bistrot Pierre.
Unfortunately I’ve had a bad experience at Stratford upon Avon restaurant concerning the duty manager Ben. My booking was at 12 o’clock on Mothers Day. We entered the restaurant at 11:57, I stood at the entrance and waited for someone to come to us, five minutes later the duty manager Ben approached us, I gave him my name, and he showed us a table, we were the first people in the restaurant, and I asked him if it would be possible to sit in the conservatory as it was lighter and felt a bit more special for my Mother’s Day meal. Unfortunately he flatly refused and said “we are fully booked and I have allocated all the tables this is yours”, I said to him “but we are the first ones in the restaurant, is it not possible to move us to another table?”. Again he flatly refused, I then told him I was not happy and I would raise it as a complaint, he then said, “go ahead sir” and walked off. I have never been so embarrassed in front of my mother on her Mother’s Day surprise ever in a restaurant before, not only was he unprofessional but also rude and dismissive. I’ve eaten out in many bistro Pierre restaurants at various locations and I’ve always been allowed to move if there is availability. However, I cannot complain about the food as always it was first class, the lovely waitress Dew and the waiter Matt were excellent and very attentive. During the whole of our stay, there were tables of four in the conservatory that were not used.
I do feel somebody needs to speak to Ben about the way he treats customers and his inflexible attitude otherwise his mannerisms will put customers off from returning.

TORQUAY BRANCH TERRIBLE

Had reservation for 8.45pm Torquay Devon Branch Mothersday. We were a party of 3 and arrived on time. We ordered drinks no problem there. When it came to ordering the food they had very little choice stating they had been very busy. They had only 2 fillet steaks no other steak. Wewere 3 people. The starters they were out of nearly all of them. The dessert they were out of everything but 3 items. So two of us were able to eat. There was nothing suitable for myself the third person. All they said is we were busy so ran out of food. However we had a reservation. They were aware of this and did not bother to message or email to warn there was issues with food not being avail. Mothers day huge day for resturants and Bistro Pierre failed in a big way. Total disregard for people. I will be sending my story to the local newspaper. Disgrace

DO NOT CATER FOR SPECIAL DIETS

We were in a party, seated upstairs.
The food was good for 6 out of 7 of us. The waitress was friendly but this didn't compensate for my wife's poor experience.
Whilst the restaurant states it can cater for alternative diets, it really can't.
My wife has dairy allergies and ended up being served a handful of chips in a copper bowl for her main meal as they couldn't bring themselves to make her a simple salad AND they didn't even bring her a plate. We all had big plates of steak, duck and chicken, and she was sat there with this pathetic offering, to restate, without even having a plate, let alone her simple salad.
This is not what we expected and makes a mockery of their claims of being able to cater for all.
I complained and got the usual reply from a disinterested manager confirming their service was indeed poor.
Great, at least we agreed.

We were welcomed by Gordy at Bisto Pierre in Plymouth and he was attentive and helpful throughout, without being intrusive. The Hake Bisque was amazing, as was the creamy Creme Brulee. Hope to come back soon.

The food here is amazing

The food here is amazing, and the quality is great for the price. The staff are friendly and very polite, always so happy to see you. They always ask how your food is and check up on you. They do amazing deals like a 3 course dinner for around £25. The menus change often so you can never get bored.

Ilkley Bistro pierre back on form

This used to be our go to place, particularly the ilkley one, but up to and during covid, staff changed, the chef changed and the menu changed... We'd had a few lousy meals/or poor service.

Things seemed to have changed for the better. The food today was lovely, yes the lunchtime £10 deal is limited in choice, but fair enough, given current costs everywhere. And service was spot on, thanks Melodie. Hopefully, a good return to form 👍

Good food, ridiculous service charge

We have not been to Bistro Pierre Derby for a while as the service last time was a little poor. They said they would send us a free meal but never did but hey ho that's gone. We went to take advantage of the £10 deal which had some good choices and allowed you to have a £2.50 starter of dessert. That's was nice, tasty as usual. Side orders of bread £1.95 used to be free, which we didn't actually ask for. Delphinouise potatoes £3.95 for a sliver.always nice.

The drinks are ridiculous. £17 for 2 glasses of wine. Beer not much cheaper. When we got the bill it was a good job we checked. 10% added to the bill for service. This qas new andnif we hadn't have read the receipt we would have tipped twice. They say its optional but your so close to other patrons it's awkward to refuse.

I did ask for it to be removed at their counter and received a curt response. Service had left the building at that point. Talking to another member of staff and not the customer. Hence to say I didn't leave the tip on the table.

Sadly probably not returning.

Visited Preston Bistrot Pierre for lunch. Service disappointly slow with very little apology from the staff who appear pretty disengaged.
When we asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill there was still no apology and it felt as though our custom was not valued at all.
Won't be in a hurry to return.

Appalling

We visited Bistro Pierre in Southport specifically to take advantage of the £10 mains offer. We were seated then waited 15 minutes for anyone to take a drinks order. Finally ordered our food only for the waiter to come back & tell us they didn’t have our first choice. We ordered again for him to tell us they also didn’t have our second choice. This is after we’d already received drinks which we had to pay for. The £10 menu is extremely limited with only around 6 mains yet they still can’t offer them all. We left & went next door to Wetherspoons!
