Furniture

When you buy furniture, you wonder how it will be, ready built or flat pack. My items came mixed, and the delivery drivers carried them upstairs, and to my suprise the boxes weighed heavy, so credit to them for it was hard work. They unpacked, built and checked both items, and the furniture looks great, we can not be more happy with service that was given, highly recommended.

Exceptional and bespoke service

The delivery needed to be signed for and they were more than happy to deliver to my work address. The communication throughout the experience was exceptional and not something I have experienced before. The chat facility was great and they called when they were nearly at my workplace. Highly recommend! If only all delivery companies were this thorough and professional - thank you.

The delivery was in good time and…

The delivery was in good time and convenient for me .
The assembly took a bit longer than expected but the results are very good and looks very stylish

Not a great purchase

Instructions office to follow and I am not new to this type of furniture.
Quality not as I would expect when purchasing from Next.
Some fixings visible when completed so overall not great.
Would return if I could but once assembled that option isn’t available so we are stuck with it.
Already looking for a replacement

AVOID AT AL COSTS… STOLEN bed

AVOID AT AL COSTS… STOLEN bed, never received it. Contacted them twice no answer. Still waiting to hear where my bed is. I had to contact B&Q to open an investigation into this issue, but I’m still bedless and £180 lighter.

A little on the hard side

Sofas went together very easily, but are a little on the hard side. (Probably just a personal preference)
Service from Birlea was very good and kept updated, but the same can't be said for Homebase who we purchased through.

In terms of the comfort level, all of our products are independently tested for their comfort rating by a third party, so they are designed to match the specified feel. That said, we completely understand that firmness can still come down to personal preference.

Very strong smell

I bought a five drawers cabinet and it is exactly as what I have seen at the showroom. It is operating normally but the problem is that it smells very strong. I have already opened all the drawers in a room with all windows opened for three days and yet the smell is still strong.

With regards to the smell, this can sometimes occur with newly manufactured furniture due to the materials used and packaging process. It should naturally reduce over time, especially with good ventilation, so airing it out as you’ve done is the right approach.

Awful Delivery Experience

First delivery date was 15th April, didn’t arrive, then 21st April, didn’t arrive and was told my the AI bots to wait till 1st May for my package. Today i received a package of a coffee table and not the 3 door wardrobe i ordered. After waiting close to two weeks for my delivery with barely any communication from Birlea, i get the wrong 😑 parcel. This has been a really awful experience.

I’m really sorry to hear about the experience you’ve had — this is clearly not the level of service we expect, especially with multiple missed delivery dates and then receiving the wrong item.

I completely understand how frustrating it must be after waiting and receiving very little communication. Our transport team will look into this further as a priority to establish exactly what has gone wrong with the delivery.

I can see our Customer Service team have liaised with Debenhams regarding this, it was a system error which meant the wrong item was shipped. A full refund has been processed for this.
