Great advice, knowledgeable advisors every time I contacted

Extremely responsive and helpful agent (Theo) dealt with a number of queries when we were looking at the policy as we had an unusual scenario. Quotes arrived promptly as did documents.

Needed last minute to modify my coverage plan as my daughter was too ill to do the Hi Giang Loop and ended up in the hospital on the very day she was meant to begin on her adventure.
They were so helpful on the phone and changed the reservation to reflect the date changes without any problem or penalty charges. I'd now only recommend this insurance. Top class service. This customer service was the best I'd ever encountered living in the UK.

Big Cat insurance might be cost effective and provide required cover levels but when you actually need to claim this is 'handled' by an outsourced provider - IMG. I am 4 months into a claim process which should be simple - yet nothing back as yet. Claim was eventually settled after more than 4 months.

With incredible customer service support from Cristopher at Big Cat, this has now been resolved and I’m really grateful for the speed of response. In my years of using them they’ve always been a great company to deal with and would always look to use them for our future travels. Many thanks!

For the last four years I’ve used Big Cat for all my children’s travels and fortunately have never needed make any claims. However, my daughter broke her wrist in March in Canada and funded the nearly £2000 treatment with savings whilst she waited for the company to refund the agreed amount. After nearly three months of emailing and calling and filling in of forms she is still being told that they’re very busy and will need to wait a little longer. She was told sometime ago that her claim was now with the department for repayment but nothing seems to be happening.

I've been buying from Big Cat for quite a few years now while my son is travelling (7 years, 24 countries and counting). We've never needed to claim and I hope it stays that way. Very responsive team who are just great on the phone whenever I need to alter or extend his policy and at very reasonable prices to do so too. I'm paying for my peace of mind really and that's worth every penny. I wouldn't use it recommend anyone else now.

Very happy with BigCat Travel Insurance for backpackers, everything was so quick and easy and was able to take out this policy even when already abroad, was also able to extend the policy online without any fuss. Will definitely use again.

I wanted to be sure that my daughter had the correct cover for her adventures which Theo helped me with. He explained the different types of cover and which was the most appropriate for her. I really appreciated his help and feel reassured she has good insurance for her trips over the next year. There was no pressure to buy but it was all done very efficiently. I’ll be able to sleep now and not worry about ending up on the front page of the Daily Mail begging for help ! Without speaking to Theo we would have ended up not getting the right cover so thank you for the explanations. If your children are going off on adventures please look at Big Cat for their insurance.

Simple easy and great price

Clear policy cover and easy to use

Sent a claim in 2nd March, now 2nd of May, no progress or revised ETA. Have to go around the houses to get through to IMG and given it’s travel insurance, having no online communication channel except email (which takes ages for a response) isn’t ideal. UX is pretty terrible given how much the service costs.

I’m aware that there are geopolitical factors which may be causing delays. But why am I having to reach out repeatedly for updates rather than receiving proactive communication?
