Unique Customer Service and commitment to customer's satosfaction

I'm happy customer of Barker for 2 decades, owning number of pairs ... some of them have been refurbished at factory couple of time already and I love my Barkers getting more enjoyable when aging ...

Very last experience with Barker team has made me super satisfied ...

As Barkers dealer in Czech republic has closed the shop and my loved pair of shoes was lookign for care of factory, I've contacted Customer Service directly.

Great communication with Martin Fireson from Customer Service team, supper proactive and customer oriented approach...

So have send my shoes as Martin has advised ...

Then, after coupe of days, Martin ha contacted me back that my shoes are badly damaged and it is not sure if they'll succeed to repair it accroding to stnadards ... yes .. .there was quite a damage on the side of one of shoes ...

I§ve kindly asked Martin to make a miracle as this pair of Barkers is really my most loved one, owning it cor long years and they are my no.1 for daily use ...

repair was really not just sole exchange, but also significant repair of the top of shoe ...

Luckilly, guys accepted the challenge and made a miracle ... my Barker§s just arrived and they are like now, while being still my supercomfortable ones that takes a years to reach this level of comfortable feeling ...

Beautiful shoes of fantastic make

Beautiful shoes of fantastic make, which you can feel. I had to return a pair before getting to the right size, shipping, correspondence with the brand and refund were fast and simple to deal with. I found the perfect pair (bonus points for the small size as it's truly a nightmare finding quality shoes at a size 2.5/3) and have already had many compliments on them. The packaging they come in is also lovely, making it feel even lovelier.

An absolute disaster

An absolute disaster.
I bought the shoes, received my parcel very quickly, opened the box to discover a pair of shoes which far too big to be a 43 size (9) I ordered. It’s more a 45 or a 46 than a 43. And incredible, there is a 9 painted inside the shoes, despite that are clearly much more bigger that a 9.
No answer from the company about my emails to get them back the shoes.
So on the paper a good deal, in reality a pure disaster (and 250€ lost).

My shoes were one size bigger

My shoes were one size bigger. I emailed back asking for return notes but nobody got back to me within 48 hours. Next time I wouldn’t buy shoes directly from producer but would use one of the established retailers that have better return policy established.

I was a life time Barker shoe guy, not any more

I was a life time Barker shoe guy.
This time hugely disappointed with an online purchase of Seb - Navy Calf - 45 Men's Sneakers.
Look good, put them on and walked 800 meters and ended up with 2 badly cut heel. Raise part of the heel much too hard. Still suffering. The cuts were so bad the heel area on the shoe was stained with blood. So as they were stained, I could not return, so went in the bin. Lesson learned, no more online shoe purchases, if it had been my local retailer, I would have went back and been replaced or refunded. Have photo but no way to publish.

Beautiful shoes but take time to get used to them. Might vary between products

Leather of the toe damaged and look…

Leather of the toe damaged by weather and look awful, company agreed to give replacememt -amazing customer service
My previous barker shoes look good for 3 years and salt and rain didnt damaged them, hope this will be god as well.

Quality shoes

I ordered a pair of ‘Wesley’ shoes for my father, as he has been wearing his previous ones for about 25 years (and that’s not an exaggeration!), and he practically lives in them. They were being posted to Australia, and I couldn’t believe how quickly they arrived. The company was extremely helpful as, after I ordered them I thought it better to get them delivered to his address rather than mine, and even with the time difference making communication a bit slower they happily obliged. Communication was great and the shoes arrived at his address in record time. He loves them & they fit him perfectly.

Poor workmanship

Site pictures of shoes were far brighter than when I actually received them,they appeared dull and unattractive. Barker Shoes I've purchased from shops in the past have been of exceptional quality, unfortunately, these ,off the net,far from lack that,shoddy workmanship, and actually wonder if this is an actual genuine BARKER site !!
I'm a 10 and these were like an 11/12 ,ridiculous!! I have pics to prove of this poor workmanship, won't be buying off the net again !

My third pair of Barker shoes

My third pair of Barker shoes, the previous two pairs I purchased from a local retailer, I used those sizes when ordering this pair, usual Barker quality and the fit was perfect. On the original delivery date the driver (PDP) couldn’t find the address!!!! Fortunately the following day the driver could find us this which isn’t a fault of Barker, so all in all a good experience and I would order again.

Disappointing Customer Service from a…

Disappointing Customer Service from a "Premium" Brand
I purchased a pair of Barker Camborne Xtra Lite Chelsea Boots in November 2025. Within weeks, a recurring defect appeared: every time the boots get wet, a white line forms along the seam where the sole meets the leather upper. It can be temporarily wiped away, but reappears consistently after drying. This appears to be an adhesive or construction fault.
As someone who owns footwear from other brands including RM Williams, Grenson, and Loake, I've never experienced this issue under similar conditions. I contacted Barker directly—not seeking a refund, but to inform them of what appears to be a manufacturing defect that may affect other customers.
The response from their Customer Service was deeply disappointing. Rather than showing any interest in the product fault, I was simply told that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I needed to contact the retailer, not the manufacturer. When I pointed out that surely they would want to know about a potential defect in their products, the response was the same: "procedures laid down by Barker management."
While I understand the legal position regarding contracts of sale, I expected a premium heritage brand to care about product quality and manufacturing issues. Other premium brands I've dealt with have always shown interest when defects are reported, regardless of where the item was purchased.
The concerning part isn't the legal technicality—it's the complete lack of interest in their own product quality. A manufacturer should want to know if there's a construction fault that could affect multiple customers. Instead, Barker chose to hide behind regulations and effectively told me to go away.
I'm now pursuing the matter through the retailer as advised, but Barker's attitude has ensured I won't be purchasing from them again. For a brand trading on heritage and quality, their customer service suggests they're more interested in avoiding responsibility than maintaining standards.
Would I recommend Barker Shoes? Not based on this experience. There are plenty of other British shoemakers who care about both their craft and their customers.
