I am at my wits end
I am at my wits end. Cant get access to funds since being merged from Bankia. customer service numbers now not working.
An absolute disgrace. Feel like I could punch someone. Outrageous
Complete crap.
Complete crap.
Caxia are taking over and are also complete crap.
Bankia & La Caixa Unworkable and Toxic
Bankia App Mal
La Caixa App Mal
Las cuentas en línea con aplicaciones que no funcionan no tienen sentido. El servicio al cliente que no da nada tampoco tiene sentido.
Now that La Caixa has acquired Bankia the whole tone of the bank has changed from them needing us to one of how can we make our money back.
Add that to the general anti Brit sentiment after Brexit and its a pretty awful experience.
The Apps for both online services are being merged. I can’t make Bankia’s work and La Caixa’s doesn’t yet hold my log in details.
When you have an on line account that is just not workable.
Don’t trust Spanish banks with anything more than beer money and there are plenty of virtual accounts like “Wise” that have bill paying facilities for pennies.
Same bad Bankia experience
Same bad experience with Bankia not paying direct debit for electricity but paid all others with plenty of money in our account. They sent no letters, no text, no emails! We had electric disconnected and incurred a reconnection fee! I
complained,in writing, then took them to the banking ombudsman which is Bank of Spain. Took forever but I managed to win my case and get my complaint sorted and money back! Everyone should do the same. They rely on you giving up.Dont!
Horrendous experience with this bank
Horrendous experience with this bank. Account keeps getting blocked. They decided for no reason to stop paying our IBI so we got fined. The staff are rude and not bothered. Just totally ignore emails. No customer service.
TODAY WE CLOSED THE ACCOUNT NO MORE OF THESE SHARKS.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM OR YOU WELL REGRET IT.
They have blocked my account and did…
They have blocked my account and did not tell me why...untill Electricity unpaid bill notice came....last two weeks I am trying to contact by email/phone to the branch, no reply or pick-up of phone. In January 2020, I personally vised the branch and gave my new passport copy, signed all tax residency forms etc. There is enough fund in the account. Through one of the forum I have opened new account with Wise and managed to pay water, electricity and insurance from UK, great service/exchange rate by Wise, all on smart phone. Bankia site says contact CiaxaBank...no joy. Asking me to call but its all in Spanish..I am just so frustrated since i m in UK and yes, totally unacceptable by England standard...
Don't touch this bank with a bargepole
Don't touch this bank with a bargepole, the operation is a shambles. Customer service department is unfit for purpose. Account charges are ludicrous - 14€ per month for simply maintaining an account in credit, + annual fees for each and every card. Many matters cannot be resolved without travelling to a branch - ours is 80km away since they closed the local one 8 years ago. Should have moved bank years ago, am now doing so.
Just don't use, or you will regret
I can only share the same experience as other posts on this site. This bank under the name Bankia or Caixa is worst than useless. They ask for info, you provide it, they acknowledge receipt, then ask for the same information again. They refuse to acknowledge they already have it and want it in hard copy as well. They then freeze the account, refuse standing orders, even though there are funds to meet them, but continue to charge monthly fees which are on a different planet to what is being done. One monthly standing order, fee 14 euros, mopre than the standing order. The replies to emails are "we don't care". Clear message, "whatever is in your account is ours and we don't care whether you like it or not". If this was the UK the regulator would be flooded with complaints, but ion Spain it is the norm. Probably best described as corporate theft.
No responses
No responses. No help. Password won't work and tells me only to attend an office to resolve which I cannot do.
Feel like screaming with this bank
Feel like screaming with this bank. Being ripped off every month for "services", also the insurances which are linked to a very small mortgage are astronomical. On top of this they charge once a year for credit cards that we never asked for or use. No-one answers the phone, no one replies to emails. The "manager" on the on-line account ignores everything. The worst of the worst. I am trying to find out how to switch my mortgage to another bank and close this down completely. Its difficult trying to sort this out whilst in the UK, but i will be making moves the next time i'm in Spain to get rid of this bank out of my life forever. Please do not use this bank, you will only set yourself up for a lifetime of grief, anger and frustration. Very very bad bank indeed. The actual worst!!
Check your bank is customer friendly first!
I have had a house and account with Bankia for over ten years. I have sold the house and don't live in Spain. I have been trying to close the account and move any remaining money in the account back to the UK. Seems simple? Not unless you go to their bank by arrangement in Spain! Unhelpful, full of self importance and meaningless clap trap! Avoid them!!!
Customer since 1997 but can't take it anymore
I've been a customer since 1997 and although dealing with Bankia can be annoying even when you live in Spain, when you live outside of Spain it's a complete nightmare. As others have reported, you can be locked out of your account without notice - you don't find out until you go to make a withdrawal or a payment or a transfer and it's denied - at which point you embark on an odyssey that can take weeks of emails (which are mostly never answered), phone calls and form-filling until they finally deign to allow you to access your money again. When Covid hit and they realized that the world economy was going to tank, Bankia started charging me fees I had never been charged before, again with no notice or explanation. They are an incompetent disgrace and the next time I'm able to travel to Spain I will close down the account and find a new bank.
Worst bank
Worst bank , they charge me 15 euros every month for "services" which I never asked for!! and then they took 30 euros a year as an annual fee? ridiculous. they said the only way to stop them from taking this money from me is to buy their insurance package! this bank has really weird rules and conditions! I took my money out and shut down my account with them. never again.
My Complaint against Bankia
My Complaint against Bankia - Bankia INSIST you VISIT THEIR BRANCHES. This is Very POOR SERVICE from a highly respected bank. I can not login - I can not visit a branch. My reasons are: I typed in old information and got blocked also my government and tge Spanish government will not allow me to visit a branch.
Worst bank to deal with. (Especially Bankia in Torrevieja)
I have been charged every year for Bankia Mapfrie Vida Insurance, l don’t need and credit card l have never used. Despite contacting the branch nothing has been done. Please be careful of this Bank. They are rip – off bank. I have no good experience with this bank from the word go. Please try another bank.
no problem with the bankia benidorm branch.
I am quite shocked and surprised reading all the bad reviews, I find bankia Benidorm a great bank to deal with. There is a girl there speaks great english and has always been helpful 'Esther'
Never had any issues but must admit we visit the bank or email her.
sad to see such negative reviews
Worst bank I have ever used.
I was changed to Bankia due to banks buying out other banks, not by choice. Since being with them for 2+ years I have never been able to obtain a statement.! Despite multiple emails to them I still cannot access statements I need to fill in my tax return. Phone calls just ring and ring with no answer or cut off after saying they are 'experiencing technical difficulties'! Worst bank I have EVER used.
Bankia in Catral
Bankia in Catral, Alicante do not understand 'charge back' after we needed a refund with booking.com. Now, another problem when I did a transfer Euro to Pound (UK) when they told me one exchange rate and did a lower rate to do the transfer face to face at the bank. I've had legal advice and have contacted the bank and waiting for them to reply. The worst bank I have ever used. I already dislike banks but this bank is the limit.
I don't recommend getting an account if…
I don't recommend getting an account if you don't reside in Spain. I had multiple problems with the account and you only get an ok customer service when you go to the office
