After opening an account in Spain, I applied for a small real estate loan. I had very secure assets and excellent references. It took forever, and a Dutch bank ended up being less complicated.
Then I wanted to close the account. There is a button for this on the Santander app. Then I received several emails saying that I had to download something from the website. That didn't work. There was no help function. Calls went unanswered.
Then I wrote an email with all the information. No response.
I also went to the Santander branch in Spain. After waiting for two hours, I left, exasperated.
I have now hired a Spanish lawyer who lives there. He has written to me saying that he has been informed that I can cancel via the app or at the branch... oh yes, and that I have to transfer something first.fter opening an account in Spain I asked for a
