The rewards associated with the card are very helpful which is why I keep mine open. However, I have several elderly relatives, all of whom have been excluded from using this card because they aren't about to upgrade to the most recent Android or iPhone. No other bank has excluded them, just Marks and Spencer's. At one point, you offered an elderly arthritic lady a tiny little keypad to use as a security device. Have you any basic customer service training about accessibility?

Very poor communication from MS staff there’s a language barrier between staff and customers. I would never have a MS credit card again.

Mostly great, but I've been forced to download the app on my phone, and now every online transaction requires me to log into my account. I don't live on my phone and so that's a real pain - main reason why I frequently use a different card

Excellent service. App works much better than the first one I used. Very secure, easy and quick to log in. Never had any issues using the app. Notification service is great; enables me to keep track of my transactions.

My first contact wasn't very helpful, I was told that I had to download their app, when you are 20 that's easy when you are 82 not so, got there eventually, my contact the second time was ok problem solved.

M&S Bank, specifically the credit card operation used to be a good option for purchasing using a credit card. The rewards were very fair and useful at times like Christmas. The value of rewards was reduced some years back, as M&S undervalued consumer loyalty. The service is mediocre, the rewards are now, not great, and I am sure there are other, more suitable providers out there with either linked rewards or cashback. M&S sells it's brand on quality and having something a little different. The credit card experience does not reflect that.

App is no longer supported on my phone. Had to phone and ask for a solution and was sent a key pad to generate a security code, however it just doesn't work, no supplied pin. I just gave up trying to use it. Now have to phone to check the balance and make a payment as required which is inefficient and time consuming. Will have to cancel the card and has clouded my opinion of M&S as a whole. Goodbye trusted brand.

I recently overstepped my credit limit. I found it impossible to speak to anyone about this or know how to deal with it. I sent an email to the complaints dept but did not hear anything. I then received a letter saying that I could pay by cash at my local M&S. When I went in they said this had been discontinued during lockdown.
The only way to check your credit card payments is via the M&S app on your phone. This does not work for me. Don't understand why I can't check online through my laptop.

They are very attentive, noticing odd activity early.
The last time it happened to me, they quickly sorted the whole thing out, talking things through on the phone with me.

Paying you is a nightmare. I could go into any of your shops and pay cash which you said was acceptable and confirmed, 3 months later that was cancelled. I still have your email. You really hate cash.
Evidenced by your self service tills in your shops. Then theres the policy not to replace staff when they leave as is cheaper to take the hit re shop lifting than provide a service by staff. Try finding someone in the shop to ask for help.

I had looked myself out of the M&S app and the online banking so I contacted M&S and the agent who assisted me was very professional and excellent with the help needed resulting in both the app and online banking being fully reinstated.

I had this 12 month zero interest credit card with M&S. The process of applying and approval was fast and efficient. However, contrary to the custom, the bank didn't notify me when the 12 month was coming to an end. Instead, M&S bank started charging me £50 interest for 2 months, £100 in total. This, in my view was not very honest.

Midland Eye Hospital , confirmed catarah and Glucoma in both eyes and a mini stroke affect on left eye in November,2024.I was just paying by DD and was not checking my card statements . After eye operation on right eye January,2026 I had a building and content miss DD payment which was due to a fraudulent DD payment.
Experian told me to phone and checked with M&S. M&S Credit Card checked and found a fraudulent direct debit payment spanning back to March,2025 and refund me every penny . Cancelled ,and gave me a
new M&S credit card and pin .Looking back the
Customer Assistance was patience and a good listener
and gave me some safety tips like paying by phone.
I cancelled PayPal online payments, since they store
your cards and use payments by phone when I set it up.
