This company is a complete FRAUD
This company is a complete FRAUD. The goods are NOT what was advertised on the net and the items sent certainly were not patchwork quilted. They also use a distribution company address that gets confused with Nexus Cargo who are fed up with receiving calls about this a product they have nothing to do with.
AVOID using SP backroad goods.
Another fool falling for this scam…
Another fool falling for this scam company. Saw something that looked like a legitimate story on a lady from Tasmania. Fool, I debated because the item wasn't something I needed. Fool fool fool, wondered why the payment was pending, and stupid fool purchased again as I thought maybe the first item hadn't gone through. Fool fool fool.
Thankyou to reviews I should have read before hand, I contacted my bank and put in a report and requested my card cancelled.
Be AWARE
Ordered a so called handmade basket and was charged double the amount for it. My account and the receipt reflect different amounts. This is DEFINITELY a scam. Definitely been duped.....
This company is a scam outfit
This company is a scam outfit. Promise of handmade goods , crafted in Tasmania with hand stitching by some sweet old lady. Actually just polyester cheap product from Temu worth $1 . Grossly misrepresentation of product . Really disappointing
This company is a scam & needs to be shut down.
Fell for the handmade baskets from Tasmania, instead I got 3 printed baskets poorly made.
I also brought the Christmas glasses only to find they were only cheap glasses with stickers on them. The 2nd set was worse, and 1 of the glasses were broken. As parcel was not marked fragile.
Chinese scam
Chinese scam, alas. There are clever and compelling descriptions of beautiful artisan goods but what you get is a cheap asian knock-off. When you challenge, the offer is to post back to Hong Kong (over £30) to get a refund.
Watch out
Watch out! All of these sweet, retiring "artisans" are AI-generated non-entities, hawking lies. All of the "Backroad Goods" are cheap crap.
If I could give negative stars I would
If I could give negative stars I would. The website is very well done but is a total scam. I ordered a handmade in Cornwall hedgehog house and over two weeks later received an obviously mass produced cheap version that can be bought from Amazon for £20. I complained loudly with no joy, was told to return it to Hong Kong at my own expense. I ended up taking it to my bank which did result in a full refund. Do not buy from this company.
Hedgehog hog House
If I could give it a zero I would.please be careful this is fake site using people's sentiment and good will to make profit.I was supposedly getting a handmade hedgehog house from Devon UK. It was mass produced and delivered from abroad.with return address to Jiahe st,Baiyun District,Guangzhou City!!!
Go to the bank they might be able to get your money back

Received item which was broken on…
Received item which was broken on arrival. Then ignored from that point on after they asked for photo evidence of broken item (bee house)
Australian native beeboxes handmade in the country
The lovely old man in South Australia hand making Australian native bee boxes, crippled with arthritis, reluctantly convinced by illness and his kids to retire, with only 18 items left to sell, and so reduced price for three to A$262 is, in fact, a lie. The old man and his concerned children are ghosts. And I fell for the untruth hook, line and sinker. I think I'm pretty savvy but I got fooled. The company is American, the boxes are Chinese manufactured and worst of all the price charged at checkout rise to A$309. When I checked after paying, the company is based in the USA and I checked their return policy and the address is in China. I wish I'd had the good sense to ask trustpilot first. The ancient arthritic Aussie bee box maker selling up is a story as old as Adam and Eve.
SCAM!
SCAM!! Saw an article saying a lady in Tasmania (Australia)was retiring from making bags and had a few left. The pictures in the article showed beautiful handmade bags. The bag I received was a cheap Chinese printed bag. I contacted Backroad Goods and they told me to post back at my expense? I have contacted them numerous times but they said no refund till I return the bag at my expense. I then contacted my back and did a back charge. I told Backroad Goods that they are misleading the public by lying and selling imitation products. They didn’t care and generate a generic email with the same information each time. DO NOT PURCHASE anything from these crooks!!!

I was dupped like everyone else and paid $60 for JUNK after reading a great story about an older woman retiring so "you better get yours fast!" I agree that Google should be held accountable for allowing these stories to be promoted. Lesson learned.

I also fell victim to this thieving so called company. Gave impression I was buying a tote bag from a retiring 71 year old lady making these bags in NSW Australia. After placing my order for $78.00 and making a donation to help out other artists, I pressed on the $10.00 donation but they actually took out 14.99 Total payment $92.99 I never received an invoice or order number, nothing. I immediately contacted my bank (unfortunately the money had already been taken out) and had my card cancelled. I have an investigation pending, so hopefully they can do a back charge. I so wish that I had checked out Trust Pilot first then I would never have purchased. SCAM SCAM SCAM BUYER PLEASE BE AWARE.
If I could give it zero stars
If I could give it zero stars, I would. I was fortunate enough to have skepticism when I was going farther into purchase process, to Google and research the back story of the item being sold. It is ALL fake, and mad produced (if produced at all)? Hope that customers see these reviews and hope those of us that reported the website, have done enough to shut it down- and no one gets taken for their money 🙏🏼

There is no Betty (Gran) from the Yorkshire Dale's making sheep laundry bins! Cheap rubbish from China! Do not buy from this company. Google should be held accountable for promoting companies from China pretending to be British craftsmen/women! Disgusting! So many of these charlatans advertised by Google - shame on you Google!!
Just received my hand quilted sheep …
Just received my hand quilted sheep basket supposedly from a lady who makes them. Absolute rubbish ! Supposedly handmade artisan laundry basket is just cheap chinese rubbish! Complete & utter ripoff ! Do not purchase from these liars !
Advertisement states refund if not happy with the purchase, buy what they don't tell you is you have to pay for it to be shipped to Hong Kong before you get your refund.
What a total SCAM
It doesn't even warrant 1*
It doesn't even warrant 1*. I ordered a hedgehog house for £90 based on an article in the Guardian about how expertly designed and craftsman made it was. What arrived - eventually - was cheap, lightweight, mass produced tatt. Similar appearance to advertised but nothing like the design and quality. Definately not handcrafted in Devon and not fit for the job. Would not buy it if I saw it in a garden centre for £25, in fact I have just found it on Amazon for £14.99! Still wouldn't buy it.
Hopefully they'll come good on their 30 day unconditional refund but we'll see.
Was told to return it to Hong Kong (made in Devon?!) at my own expense - c£80 postage - for a 'full refund' of the £91 paid. Or keep it and get 25% 'refund' which I eventually got up to 50%
So much for an item reviewed by the Guardian (or may have been the Independant)
