I booked a car through AutoEurope thinking it would be OK since it was a site I found at Swedavia, the handler of airports in Sweden. Once I came to Europcar there is no car and I had to do a new booking. Europcar confirmed by phone to AutoEurope there is no booking. I expected to get a confirmation AutoEurope had cancelled the booking and refund me but no. I called the so called customer service and requested cancellation and refund but no, he could not even send me something confirming the booking was cancelled and without any warning he hang up on me. Do not book with AutoEurope and you will for sure save yourself a plentyful of hassle!

autoeurope has no control over the rental companies they use - take care also about their quality which is low without responsibility for what they promise in their vouchers. I paid for an insurance including Theft Protection (autoeurope). In the contract presented at car pick up (FELIRENT) this insurance was removed and not included. If I did not signed their contract version, they did not give me the car. I called autoeurope and they did not respond else than that the problem was mine if I signed the contract without theft protection. Avoid this rental car company, they are unreliable and dishonest.

I prepaid a rental car through Auto Europe for pickup at Palermo Airport on July 17, 2025 at 23:00.
I arrived on time with my driver’s license and documents, but had forgotten the credit card used for booking. I offered to pay with another card, cover extra charges, or add a second driver – but the local provider (Sicily by Car) refused to help and canceled the booking on the spot.
Despite this, Auto Europe refused to refund me, claiming I didn’t cancel in time – even though I didn’t cancel at all. I was there, I tried to solve the issue, and I received no service whatsoever.
Sicily by Car told me Auto Europe is the one that took the payment and is responsible for the refund. Still, Auto Europe hid behind inflexible terms and offered no support, no refund, no credit – nothing.
I had to take a €120 taxi in the middle of the night – all because Auto Europe refuses to support its customers when something goes wrong.
Avoid Auto Europe. If anything goes slightly off plan, you're on your own.

Never again
I used Autoeurope for years and never had issues: last time we rented a car in Portugal and we needed to contact them to change the driver name only but no one was available and we had to pay 250 euros! The worst was their standard reply arrived 2 days later not caring at all about our concern and our money: this is how they treat loyal customers? Never again!

Did not get the car Cameron 2hours late.
Did book wrong time fór pick up. I did thou Wright the flight number. Dit Pay 3 weeks rent. So í ám wery disapontet.

Big Warning for this broker!
I booked a car already in March 2024, for a vacation in October 2024. My flight in October got delayed and the plane was up in the air circling for hours and when I finally landed two hours too late at the wrong airport I called both Autoeurope and the rental service Sixt. No answers! I had to get a bus to get to the right airport and when I finally arrived the car was already gone at Sixt and neither Autoeruope nor Sixt wants to refund me.
I have paid 500 Eur without getting my car! I have been calling ten times to Autoeurope and get a horrible response back from them everytime. Will never book through Autoeurope again, in shock over the bad customer service.

We missed the pickup with 30 minutes…
We missed the pickup with 30 minutes on Podgorica airport Montenegro, no chance to call from the airplane to correct the arrival time, and the service person was 100% non cooperative, just saying ”thats the rules” with an attitude = bad customer service. Offering a car instead 3 times as expensive. We paid a third of the amount at the competitor nextby and had a really good experience with them instead.

"First class customer support". Yeah right...
This spring me and my girlfriend went to Italy and rented a car with Autovia through Autoeurope. When we sat on the airplane we were told we would be an hour late to the destination due to technical difficulties. I checked the voucher which in swedish read:
"Om du blir försenad till upphämtningen, meddela detta till oss (så snart du kan) så att vi kan garantera att ditt fordon finns
kvar när du kommer."
This means If you are late to you pick-up, notify us immediately so that we can guarantee that your vehicle will be there when you arrive. First thing I do of course is I notify Autoeurpoe by calling but they say they can't help me and I have to call Autovia. So I call them and they say they can't help me either. Later in the support ticket they straight up lie and say I didn't call them in advance. I had to pay full price for a worse but more expensive SUV since my rental was no longer valid due to being half an hour late. Still haven't seen my 200 euros. "First class customer support" they say. Autovia is a scumbag company for employing this policy but Autoeurope is the one to blame for not even trying to help me. Me and my family will never rent through them again.

2. Don't answer the phone with a recording refering me to the website for opening hours when you website does not list them!
3. Make people aware they need their passport as well as driver license. Hertz does not look at it but demands you have it.....
