This company completed some rendering on my house. They did a great job

ATPM (Paul Cook) has taken over £1,000 of our money for a deposit and has failed to return it. Never showed up, never ordered any materials.

He came to our property to quote on a simple patio and grass installation and came across very genuine (I.e knew what he was taking about).

We received a quote quickly for the work on company letterhead, as well as links to his website and social media profiles. I looked up the company address on companies house (that was registered to Graham Cook - that could be a family member - same surname) so proceeded with accepting the quote and agreeing a start date. Samples of products were delivered a few days later from 2 suppliers so all still seemed legitimate. He requested a push payment for the materials deposit, which I paid (now kicking myself).

On the date he was supposed to start I received a text message saying that a family member had passed away. On smelling a rat, I then did more digging online to see, his logo had changed, his business name on Trust Pilot had changed to a Rubbish Recycling company and address had changed to 4 doors down the same road. The ATPM Trustpilot page had also mysteriously gained 20+ Positive reviews within 3 - 4 days.

We had agreed the suppliers (from samples sent) and through correspondence, therefore I proceeded to call them and they informed me there were no orders ever placed for the materials and no record of Paul Cook or ATPM.

I decided to text Paul, to send my “condolences” and asked him to send me the details of the deliveries so I could be home to receive the materials. He said the only thing arriving by courier were the tiles the next day and he would have someone on-site the following day to collect them (more lies).

I then asked him directly if this was a “con”, he rang me within 2 mins and started to verbally abuse me, stating multiple excuses, and that I was not a very nice person. I apologised and said that we should just end the contract here as the business relationship had soured, and he agreed to refund my deposit within 7 days. He the proceeded to tell me he didn’t deal with the finances (another lie) and to email the office saying that he had agreed to return my deposit.

I did this to play the game, I then received a faked Standing Order document with my name spelled incorrectly. I text him again to point out the faked document, and that a standing order was a reoccurring payment (not a one off transfer) and that he could simply transfer the deposit back to me within a matter of minutes as we use the same bank.

After a number of abusive and threatening text messages from Paul including:
“Your information regarding both suppliers is incorrect. Any action may jeopardize your refund on Monday. Re action fraud. Social media or reviews. Any subsequent action after you receive the refund will receive a negative action against you. Please don’t test my patience any longer”

My deposit didn’t arrive, and I have reported him to ActionFraud and my bank. I can only hope that they catch this guy and stop him conning innocent, trusting people.

Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

Paul sent me this text this morning “If that review stays on Trustpilot I will not return your refund”

He is also called threatening action should I not remove the review.

Paul Cook doesn't do the jobs that he is supposed to do but quickly takes people's money. Be careful guys. This guy is a fraud. Do not pay any money to this guy. I'm still waiting for my refund up to £1000 that I put down for a deposit. Paul didn't come to do the jobs that he was supposed to do. He told me that his mother passed away, which was a lie. I have been waiting for 3 weeks to get my money back, and yet he hasn't refunded me my money. I have reported him to the fraud department and to the police too. Hopefully, they will catch him.

Update: Guys, claim your money back through your bank (Fraud department). Do not let Paul get away with the hard-working money you have worked for.

Paul and his team did a flawless excellent repair to a garden wall that had cracks and crumbling rendering. They removed all the damaged render and after applying a PVA coat replaced with new quality render and applied 2 coats of paint - wall looks as good as new and I cannot see any joins where the repairs were made. Price was fair for a quality job. Paul is the first person I call now for repair and external maintenance work ( he replaced some fence panels for me a couple of months back). Great team. Thank you Paul.

Following a quote on 20 March, on 9 April I asked Paul Cook of ATP Property to undertake replacement of a garden fence. On 10 April I received an invoice (and confirmatory email) giving a date for completion of the work in w/b 25 April and paid a deposit of £660 by bank transfer. On 25 April I asked Mr Cook when he would be coming to do the job; he replied saying he would check when supplies would be delivered. No further communication received. On 29 April I requested an update; Mr Cook replied that the materials would be delivered on 3 May and asked which day in that week would suit. I replied saying any day. Mr Cook replied saying he would telephone on 3 May to discuss. No further communication received. On 6 May I asked for an update. Mr Cook replied saying that materials had been delivered on 4 May but he was taking a couple of days off, would be back at work on 9 May and would telephone over the weekend. No further communication received. On 10 May I requested an update. Mr Cook said he would now be returning to work on 16 May. I requested a date in w/c 16 May and Mr Cook said he could complete on 18/19 May, start time 0930. On 17 May, following my request, in order that I could prepare the garden, Mr Cook confirmed he would be completing the job on 19 May. On the morning of 19 May I received an email from Mr Cook cancelling the job, giving no reason. On speaking to Mr Cook, he said it was cancelled due to rain; I pointed out that it was not raining in my area, nor was rain forecast. Mr Cook replied saying there was a 25% chance of rain and claimed I was not respecting the health and safety of his workmen, expecting them to work with power tools in adverse conditions. Mr Cook undertook to refund my deposit within 24 hours; the refund was finally received 7 days later.

NB: I have never been in contact with any of Mr Cook’s ‘competitors’. Nor have I ever met or spoken with any of Mr Cook's employees.

Fascinating how several of ATP's satisfied clients live in eg. France and even the US, and how the glowing reviews get shuffled/refreshed from time to time.

Paul and one of his work colleges done an absolute incredible job laying a new wooden flooring for me! They were fast efficient and very polite. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Paul and his team were nothing but fantastic. Clean, polite, and diligent - our old concrete posts were removed, and replaced with new panel fencing without any issues and to a very high quality . Would highly recommend for anyone in the south London area

Had my side access damaged due to recent storm and was seeking quotes where one of the quote received was from Paul ( All Trades Property Maintainance Ltd). His approach was very professional and prompt in response. Previous reviews and the professional yet friendly approach is what prompted me to offer him the job over some other tradesmen who provided me cheaper quotes. The job was done on the day promised and with in hours. His team cleaned and took away the derbis too. Would highly recommend his services.

Hi we met Paul via the Avondale Road neighbours, we had storm damage to our roof and by Saturday Paul had replied, visited our house and booked us in for Tuesday and by 4pm the job was done ✅ and at a very reasonable price! 10/10 no question and we look forward to using Pauls firm again soon. Paul quoted very quickly and he and his colleague replaced the broken fence panels very soon afterwards. Will not hesitate to use him again and to recommend him.

Paul was on time and completed the fence gate work to our satisfaction. He even took on board some tweaks we wanted with the work and the job was also reasonably priced.
Quick response to emails and messages too

We had a blocked down pipe and hopper together with a full gutter. Due to the location of an outbuilding, access was difficult.
Paul arrived exactly when he said he would and promptly solved the problem.
The charge for the job was very fair.
