Ashworth College Reviews 

Off to a rough start, but I have finally finished my Career Diploma in Basic Electronics! Program was very informative and practical. I have finally achieved a higher education and it personally means a lot. The support ticket system is still not very helpful at all!

This school is a joke. After finding out that the courses that you take won’t possibly transfer over anywhere, I asked for my account to be cancelled...months ago. I receive a letter in the mail the other day with a bill for over $1,000. I haven’t taken a single course, haven’t done anything with the “college” if you even want to call it that. I emailed Ashworth and received a response that my account is still active... so someone clearly didn’t do their job. Also being told I owe over $300. For what? Haven’t taken a course, have not done ANYTHING with the college. The place is a scam. Clearly only in it for profit. Absolutely ridiculous.

I have to say I really love this school. Currently I am pursuing to complete my Bachelors degree. I did switch my major a couple time's and had some awesome professors. Great feedback, great response time's. However, I did NOT enjoy the Social Psychology professor or one of the Healthcare Management Medical Terminology professors. The Psychology professor was very strict on APA I never understood what her issue was with my paper's. The Medical Terminology professor will take her sweet time grading any of your assignments. She offers an email but no other correspondence options really at all. Some of my other professors have discussion groups and student cafes and are very responsive. So, typical of any school you have your awesome professors and your "other one's". That being said I am so glad I changed my major and all has been great from then on! I'm looking forward to possibly pursuing my Masters at this University.

I am a current student. This rating is mostly for their "Support", or rather lack thereof. I've been attending since July and the first time I opened a "Support Ticket" , on Aug. 8, about a grade issue (not really a big deal, I still got a 90), it sat there for a month and I finally got an email Sep. 4 saying my ticket was closed - without even a response/reply to the ticket, no contact, no email about my issue, nothing. You have no access to an instructor, nothing. I read other reviews about this same issue before I signed up but figured maybe the complainers were "disgruntled" or exaggerating saying nobody ever responds to Support Tickets, etc., but nope, they were dead on. Anyhow, the educational material is decent and you get what you get out of it, but you're basically on your own with a textbook, and if you have a problem - forget it.

I see where Ashworth is replying to these 1 star ratings with a canned script "We're sorry please call so we can resolve..." - what a laugh - I've read other reviews that say after you're on hold forever you get nowhere there either. Anyway, I was considering taking other courses after this one if I liked it but with ZERO support if you need it, I'll look elsewhere.

Ashworth will probably post their automatic "We're sorry, please call us..." reply to this but I wouldn't waste my time. I'll finish this course and then it's Goodbye Ashworth!

Actually, I'm not even interested in resolving it now. I took about 20 minutes of my time to open and write a Support Ticket, but nobody responded - then they closed after a month with no explanation - which is COMMON with Ashworth - read other review sites. So no, I'm not going to waste any more of my time with it - Ashworth had a chance to act on it the first time, through the "normal" channels that THEY set and didn't do it. They lost a potential future repeat customer - first impressions count - and can keep the bad review(s) over it. I have about a 98 GPA anyway, so I don't need it - thanks anyway and good luck.

By the way, do you have any response as to WHY Ashworth just closes "Support Tickets" without responding to them or trying to resolve them? It's a common issue - read other reviews. Why?

I finish my High School with JMHS and working now on my Associate Degree, Ashworth College is not bad at all like those review are showing here, people need learn read the policies before signing up, I am happy with their services and definitely, I’ll recommend to everyone who wants to finish their education!

I signed my son up for this school. I paid in full however, due to family issues i had to pull him out of the program. I sent them a request to have a GED form filled out showing he is fully withdrawn from the school so he can sit for his GED. It took me almost a year to get a response. When they did respond they sent me some foolish reason why they could not fill out the form. The first thing they said is because he is no longer enrolled and secondly because at the time i requested it my account was delinquent. Firstly like i mentioned the program was paid for in full so it would have never been delinquent. Secondly the form is to show that he is withdrawn so of course i would not request this if he was still enrolled. This is the worst school after you pay your money they don't give . The support staff is incompetent and they are very dismissive. I would recommend you find some other alternative for school. This is not it. If you are looking for people who care and you are not just another influx of cash then this is not it. I can not express this enough! Find somewhere else!

I am currently enrolled and so far so good. I feel like my only complaint is how long it takes to close out a course to open another.. my professor already graded my last assignment but I guess it has to update in another system? I don't know. I just wish this process wasn't so slow so I could actually start my next class. its quite frustrating.. hopefully the rest of my experience is good. I will update when I ca actually get further along.

Finished my classes back in March. It is now almost July and still have not received my certificate.

I have been very happy with my experience with going to college online with Ashworth College. Affordable, accredited college education that span many subjects. I am finishing my my associates in Business. With working full time this is a very good fit for me. I am able to go at my own pace. Ashworth also sends you any books you need with no hassle.

They are also have a online library and book resource along with tutoring and more.

Feedback: I would love if the website sent me alerts of my classes with the ability to watch classes over again. At this time it is all course work.

I graduated in 2007 with ans AS and 2014 with a BA. I have seen Ashworth adapt to a distance format while increasing the degrees offered and courses available. I easily transferred credits from another school into Ashworth and by BA allowed me to continue through graduate school. Ashworth is very flexible, affordable, and accessible. I highly recommend Ashworth to anyone seeking college education.

Complete waste of time and money. Was taking classes for vet tech and ended up canceling due to personal reasons but they made me pay a 600$ cancellation fee which was no where to be found in the enrollment agreement. Which was also more money than I had even spent on the program so far. I am so beyond furious. Huge scam. Do not waste your money on these people.

Thus far at Ashworth, I have been satisfied with almost everything. I did a level of research, before embarking on this journey of higher education with Ashworth, that I believe most have not. It is important to be thorough with everything you set your mind to. I had already determined the Accreditation of Ashworth, and researched the difference between national, and regional. However, I also determined, once again, before hand, what exactly Ashworth is. It is not a scam. They indeed, are associated with the BBB, and if you feel that you have faced mistreatment, or are on the receiving end of some sort of malicious procedure from Ashworth, then contact the proper organizations and file a complaint. Again, I did my homework before hand. I is my personal belief, that many out there may simply be held back by there own ignorance, and should further educate themselves on the way of things, before making another impulsive decision that isn't well thought out, and researched. Therefore, after doing all of the research before starting at Ashworth, and reading the required student handbook, I can say confidently that the only aspect, thus far, that I am displeased with is the Transcript "Status". I This case it reads as "Prerequisite", and it is difficult to find the proper definition of my transcript status. Other than that small issue, which I have already gotten word I'll receive a response soon, all is well. The courses are put together well, and they flow nicely, allowing a competent user to cover required material with ease. Grading on lesson exams post quickly, and course completion grades are posted usually within a week. It takes courage, self-discipline, and the overwhelming will to succeed to accomplish your goals. I hope is will help everyone to make sure that they are calculated, and prepared in their decision making process.

They said can test in state of Virginia but after paying almost 1000.00 passed with awesome grade i was told by Virginia that they didn't honor there school

Absolutely trashy business practices. I signed up, but was unable to take any classes due to a health issue. They refused to give me a refund, despite the fact that I never was able to finish even one class. DO NOT trust these people. VERY shady business practices. They have sent a bogus balance to a collection agency and supposedly there is a "gotcha clause" in their terms and conditions that allows them to collect the balance regardless of your personal circumstances. Not the kind of stress I needed when trying to recover from a medical procedure. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

I am currently enrolled in A.S Psychology degree program. So far everything seems to be going great. Teachers respond via email to my questions and they are very helpful in the courses I been taking. Grading assignments are generally quick within a week and transcripts were evaluated within a few days. I like the affordability and the learn at your own self pace online class structure. I will be sure to update in a few months if anything seems to change. Overall, great experience so far!

Okay, and what are some of the veterinary places around in Decatur Illinois that you are partnered with would do the hours of hands on training, could you give me some kind of idea?

Would def. not recommend!!! Going to school for 3 months and all of a sudden I am cut off, say they are processing my transcripts, what?!?!?! After going for 3 months, now you want to cut me off? I have two tickets in and just keep getting the answer its being processed. I have been cut off now for almost 2 wks, prolonging my time to complete my program!! Nobody will get back to you so you put more tickets in and they tell you to quit putting tickets in, well then fix the problem if you dont want anymore tickets put in!! Fix the problem or give me a refund, pretty simple!! Dont wast your time or money!! To many other schools that are organized and you dont have to stress about this!!

I have been given the runaround in regards to my diploma. I have had numerous tickets opened in my online portal with some not being answered. I have been told by three deferent people of a differing graduation date. I received a “digital” certificate by cannot get a straight answer about my physical diploma and I finished coursework almost two months ago

P.S. I received my diploma today. The process was still agitating with getting different answers but it did arrive

Wish I could give 0 stars..enrolled in rn to bsn. And after months of completing courses I happened to call the school for another issue and was informed that they would be canceling the program. As imagined, I was shocked and they claim to have sent us emails in January about it however, the representative from the school said they knew even before that yet still enrolled students..huge scam..then fought with me about getting refunded..this is a disaster of a school..dont do it to yourself..find a reputable school instead. By the way, their accreditation is questionable and not nationally recognized..you will have to pay out of pocket no financial aid. You will have constant problems with final grades and opening up the next course. When you ask for help, everyone is clueless..One of my professors were so crappy they had to find a new one in the middle of the semester..I can go on and on..bottom line is stay far away
