A correspondence school no accredidation.Waste of money they don't take financial aid due to fact the courses are outdated and if they had financial aid in place The department of Education would have to reevaluate there national accredation they currently have .(Detc ) Nationally accredited. This is a issue because they take personal payments for College. So they can stay under the radar with the Department of Education.Penn Foster bought out Ashworth college and is a Correspondence school .If college is this easy with no Dept of Ed what are you going to get out of this school .A diploma that is worthless and turns out to be wallpaper for something to look at.Get a real college degree don't waist your time!

Great for diploma programs, but nothing else.

Great for non-degree programs, but horrible for degrees and professional programs. Like I did a massage technique program with them back in 2013, after completing an on-campus RN program in 2009, and it was excellent. (Don’t ask me why nurses are expected to give massages, if it’s not a topic covered in nursing school.) But, trying to do a bachelor’s degree was interminable with them, much harder than a live on-campus program. And the Healthcare Administration certificate program offered lots of great info, but then expected you to do a proctored test after you’ve already done ALL the coursework, which is very intimidating. (To me, just drop the proctor requirements.) So, two of the three programs I paid for were just wastes of money, since I can’t even get transcripts for them, much less certificates/ diplomas. — Oh, and Ashworth is great about offering in-demand programs of the moment, then just dropping them from the list later.

I brought that up in the middle of my extention though various emails, however I have being constantly being ignored. and now the program is asking me to pay for extension. I do not feel customer support is easy access it is so difficult. I reached out to my instuctor however i was told to contact student support which has just been futile. I am very disapointed in the complicated customer service whicH ASHWORH is giving and i will be sure to leave my feed back online for everone to see THAT THEY SHOULD NOT ENROLL IN this school because it is fustrating for international students to get effective communication!!!! I wish i did my program elsewhere!

Stop making students feel like they…

Stop making students feel like they have done something wrong and your institution has not. I have contacted Ashworth countless times in resolving my account issues that you all DID and each time I call, I speak with someone different in telling me different, pay this amount and you will have access to your classes within 24-48 hours. I call back a week later, the same thing and to make matters worst, I have made a payment within the last month and they still sent my account to collection. I feel it is a retaliation of the BBB complaint I filed prior to in which I have informed them that you did so. My account was sent to collections after the complaint was filed! Stop making students feel they are wrong or incorrect about payments, students issues, grades and other false claims that are created by Ashworth College when you all are either taking money and overcharging students for education!!!

Your emails to student services does not work, you guys are always right, never wrong and it is truly sad that you prey on those who have some interest in attending this no-fault school. You people should be a shame of yourselves to blame individuals of what you do wrong. It is useless to contact your student services department because you find no fault in your mishaps. You continue to take money out of my account but send my account to collections because of nonpayment, what a joke and you messed up (FTC) Federal Trade Commission. I also find it sad that, the majority of your agents do not notate the accounts because none of my calls were notated as to when I contacted you about this matter on certain topics and nothing in the notes or on my account indicate how an agent specified that someone messed-up somewhere in my account and why was my account locked when a payment was just made!!! Something is wrong!!!

I was on a payment plan and I finally…

I was on a payment plan and I finally was able to pay off my tuition balance last week. That along with completing the degree program, I thought I was going to be getting my degree mailed to me, now that everything has been settled. A week went by and I had received nothing. So I decided to call to figure out what was going on. The AI chat, that is on the student portal is useless. The person I spoke with informed me that my account is now on hold, because I do not have proof of high school transcripts or graduation on file. Once I have those on file I will get my degree from Ashworth. I was confused and asked how that was possible. I sent those in with my other college transcripts back in 2023 when I enrolled in the degree program. When I completed my degree program through Ashworth, I even received information in the mail, inviting to physically walk with the graduation class. I asked how it is possible to have credits transfer, enroll in the degree program and get the graduation information and how to go about graduating from Ashworth if documents were missing? The agent didn't answer the question and proceeded to inform me that I will not be receiving my degree until the documents from my high school are received. So, I went online, ordered the documents and I emailed the registrar at Ashworth and asked for someone to confirm that they have received what they need. It's been almost two weeks and I have not heard back from anyone. I tried to call and talk with the registration office, but that wasn't possible. The agent told me to contact Parchment, as the issue with the transcripts was on their end. For two years I did the requirements for the degree program, I made my tuition payments on time. I even graduated with a 3.2 GPA. I was excited when I made my final tuition payment, expecting to have my degree and actually hang the document in my office. Now I am disappointed and at a lost. I have done everything that they have instructed me to do, and I have nothing. I am to the point now where I have accepted the fact that they are never going to mail me my degree. I have pretty much wasted two years and $6000.00!

Terrible Service..Awful Communication

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Ashworth College (Penn Foster Group) regarding my ongoing difficulties in obtaining my conferred bachelor’s degree transcript. I have been attempting to request my official transcript in order to apply to MSW programs, but I have encountered numerous issues that remain unresolved. Despite multiple attempts, the college’s system has been consistently down, preventing me from completing my request. I have also been hung up on during phone calls, received incorrect transcripts, and have not received any updates or clear communication from their administration. This level of service is unacceptable, especially considering that I have fulfilled all financial obligations and completed my coursework. As an alumnus, I am appalled to learn that Ashworth College appears to have purged records of graduates, making it impossible for alumni to access their own transcripts or login to their accounts. This is a breach of my rights and a serious concern regarding record-keeping and transparency. Given these circumstances, I am requesting a full refund of my tuition paid to Ashworth College. I believe it is unjust to pay for a degree that I am unable to verify or present to graduate programs. Furthermore, I am considering legal action to address this matter. In addition, I must express my dissatisfaction with the college’s customer service. Their lack of professionalism and responsiveness demonstrates a clear disregard for students’ needs and a focus solely on profit. I strongly advise others to exercise caution and consider alternative institutions for their education.

A decline in transparency and support

My experience with Ashworth College has been increasingly frustrating due to recent changes that significantly reduced the quality of the student experience.

The removal of the student community, without prior notice, eliminated a valuable source of peer support and years of shared academic insight. This sudden shift left students without a space to connect, collaborate, or access guidance from others in the program.

Additionally, the new system lacks essential tools that were previously available. Students can no longer easily track completed versus remaining courses, access a printable grade report, or view an unofficial transcript. The percentage tracker, once a helpful visual aid for monitoring progress, especially for students with ADHD or executive functioning challenges, was also removed.

Communication with faculty is virtually nonexistent. There is no direct access to professors, and academic support is often slow and dismissive. Issues such as incorrect quiz answers or questions on untaught material are rarely addressed in a timely or helpful manner. In many cases, if a student is earning a passing grade, they are told not to worry about the discrepancies, which is an unacceptable approach to academic integrity.

Assignment grading has also proven inconsistent. Certain graders apply unclear standards, and when students request feedback to improve future work, they often receive none. This lack of transparency hinders meaningful academic growth.

Tuition continues to rise, yet the quality of the student experience has diminished. When concerns are raised in public reviews, official responses frequently deflect criticism rather than engage constructively.

Overall, the current structure of Ashworth College is poorly suited to supporting student success. The institution’s shift away from accessible tools, reliable feedback, and student engagement has made this one of the most disappointing educational experiences I’ve encountered.

Not real

I completed a few of their programs. I could not find a job as the credentials are not recognized by any employer so I removed them from my resume completely. Regardless of what they say, it's not recognized in the real world.

Ashworth College Experience

My experience as an international student attending Ashworth College was awesome. I appreciated the timely feedbacks from instructors and staff members. I enjoyed my years of study, due to the fact that I could have studied at my own pace and pay in parts. Managing my personal affairs and work was easy. I would highly recommend this college to anyone looking to further their study.

Do not pay this school for certificates or diplomas, wondering if they take students who pay bigger money for degrees etc.. more seriously, other less important vocations r to pay thier power bill?

stop putting response to bad reviews that you will improve, you never do. I agree with so many other reviews, a useless, worthless college. I work weekends on cleaning jobs or waitress jobs with health issues, Ashworth should be ashamed to have taken my $2,079 for veterinarian assistant certificate when they received all my final work January 2023 and never mailed me the certificate I earned !! I did not even need help finding a place to do externship, I got it immediately after finishing lessons 4 and final exam, every Tuesday and Wednesday for 2 months I finished 120 hrs. Of externship. Multiple times I try to reach a person on phone to say I have the tracking # and USPS TICKET showing you received all my final work , as most of us know now, Noone answers phone anymore, you r told to go into portal. I put tickets in (and couple tickets) despite the fact the rule is no Multiple ticket requests for same issue, but the frustration of living in a state far away ,so far it's impossible to enter the college and demand my one ? I want answer to-- where is my veterinarian assistant certificate? I earned & paid a lot for it. FINALLY, I TYPED A LETTER TO EDUCATION DEPT. TO PRESIDENT OF COLLEGE AS WELL 2/25/2025 STATING THAT I GUESS I WILL NEVER SEE THE CERTIFICATE IN MY MAILBOX. ALSO ANY COMMUNICATION I SENT THROUGH TICKET ON PORTAL, OR BY LETTER I GAVE MY PHONE # . NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE . WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT, FOR SHAME ON YOU ASHWORTH COLLEGE. I NEED THAT VETERINARIAN ASSISTANT CERTIFICATE (CAREER DIPLOMA) TO ADD TO MY RESUME . $2,079. DOWN THE DRAIN.

Ashworth College did me so wrong and…

Ashworth College did me so wrong and they lie about employment when you finish. My diploma in Electronic Health Record Management isn't recognizable nowhere for employment or by other colleges, institutions, or universities. Every since my completion of the program in 2014, every clinic and hospital have turned me down for employment in Electronic Health Record Management. Ashworth College stop lying to people about this college.

Hello Tabitha. We are following up on your recent review. We are sorry to hear that our program did not meet your expectations. Graduates of the Electronic Health Records Management program may find opportunities in a variety of healthcare settings that rely on accurate and secure patient data. Potential workplaces include hospitals, clinics, physician offices, nursing homes, insurance companies, and government health agencies. EHR specialists are also in demand with telehealth providers and medical billing companies. Job titles may include Electronic Health Records Specialist, Health Information Technician, Medical Records Clerk, or Patient Information Coordinator. While specific roles vary by employer, the skills gained in this program can open doors to entry-level positions in the growing field of health information management. While Ashworth College provides career tools and support to help students prepare for employment and certification opportunities, job placement can vary depending on employers’ specific hiring requirements, which are often influenced by location, experience.

COMMUNICATION IS A JOKE

Communication is a joke. I have submitted my transcript to be evaluated and credited to my account so that I don't have to take two of the same classes that I already took. I have submitted my Sophia Learning transcript on April 18th they received it. I am still waiting to this day over a month later for my transcript to be credited to my account. I have contacted the school more than once. My next step is the Better Business Bureau. I am not waiting any longer. CREDIT MY ACCOUNT FOR THE CLASSES I ALREADY TOOK. This school is a joke they want to get paid but don't want to do their job. Do your job people.
