They have been double charging me on…
They have been double charging me on the same account for the auto tune unlimited monthly $30 payment. So not only have I been paying for one subscription, I have been paying for 2 on the same account. $60 total A MONTH!! I demand they do something about this. Somehow they kept charging me off of the free trial while signing me up for auto tune unlimited again, ON THE SAME ACCOUNT!!!! YOU CANT MAKE THIS STUFF UP. I recommend this product to nobody.
The worse out there…
Extremely disappointed with Antares Auto-Tune and their subscription practices.
I cancelled my trial in March before the trial period ended, yet they still charged my account EUR 30 on March 15 and April 15 without my consent. I just this today, as they attempted to charge me again.
This feels incredibly dishonest and misleading. If a customer cancels a trial on time, there should be absolutely no further charges. Having to discover unauthorized payments weeks later and then chase customer support for a refund is unacceptable.
I have demanded a full refund and confirmation that my subscription is permanently cancelled. Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Be very careful if you sign up for their trial and monitor your bank account closely afterwards.
FREE TRIAL TRAP! BEWARE
I decided to try Auto‑Tune because I needed to test an A-B comparison for a vocal chain template. What I got instead was a subscription trap. I signed up for the trial, and three months(TODAY) later I was charged €30 — with no warning whatsoever that my trial was ending.
This business model is misleading and unethical. Antares relies on the fact that busy users will forget about their trials so they can automatically cash in. Unlike Amazon or other companies that give a clear heads-up, there was no notice, no chance to cancel, no transparency.
Plugin subscriptions like this feel like a joke — either sell the software outright, or at least warn users clearly before billing. This is an exploitative approach, and I will not be using their products again unless this issue is addressed. ABSOLUTE JOKE
Antares AutoTune: Trial subscription trap, Bad Faith Business Model, Ignores support and escalation requests
Antares AutoTune: Trial subscription trap, Bad Faith Business Model, Ignores support and escalation requests
Course of Action: File a billing dispute and investigation request with your bank for a charge incurred under disputed trial conditions and minimal usage
Escalate the matter directly with their payment processor (FastSpring) for merchant review
Document and publish your experience factually through appropriate consumer feedback and review channels
Beware Free trial trap!
Never ever use Antares plug-ins... First of all -they are poor quality and second - they always use the mischivious way to hook you on a trial and then take the monthly billing from your card without any notice.
Avoid!
Preditory Billing Scam
On December 16th, I was charged for my subscription. Then, on December 31st, I was charged a second time for the same subscription due to a “trial” that started 14 days before my current subscription ended. This duplicate charge is unauthorized and predatory billing. I did not consent to being charged twice for the same service during overlapping periods. Why would I pay twice for the same subscription before the first one ended? I am requesting a full refund for the second charge.
Very bad subscription and refund…
Very bad subscription and refund policy. They allow for 0 refunds no matter how unfair your situation is. You get no warning when you're about to get charged after a trail period and again refunds for accidentally forgetting the subscription are non existent.
I will never buy anything from this emotionless corporation anymore.
Horrendous. SCAMMER ALERT!
Horrendous. Utterly disgusting practices.
They tried to charge my card with a back door subscription tactic.
They give away the DUO product in the Avid Pro Tools Inner Circle. You sign up for that (giving NO CREDIT CARD INFORMATION), but automatically an active subscription starts on the iLok for a bundle at $32.66 per month. No invoice, no confirmation email, nothing.
I've never used their products, and the DUO appears to be a nothing product. Fortunately, I contacted PayPal, and my bank, and have had the payment blocked with a refund to come.
FYI, the company Fast Spring that bills the payments has a dead phone line that tells you to go to an essentially dead website with one email contact. That email address came back 'undeliverable'. When I did eventually find one that worked, the reply was "yes you have an account with us!".
Utterly shameful and illegal practices.
Stole $300 from me using a subscription…
Stole $300 from me using a subscription that conveniently for them doesn’t show up under the subscription tab in autotune central. Ofcourse this is after already paying $300 for their plug in which is worth far less. Just get waves
Product does not work as described or…
Product does not work as described or at all to be quite frank
Bought Free Trial
Bought Free Trial, nothing shows up on my account, every 4 days for the past month they are trying to deduct 60Euro from my account with no way to cancel the trial.
Really bad customer service and customer experience
Really shitty customer service, got charged after not knowing that subscription was active. immediately afterwards I contact them and ask for a refund.
The product costs a lot, and I already paid them for a period that was unused, they've charged me about 100 euros, and during that period the product has not been used at all. I only requested refund for the last 30 euros.
More than disappointed.
very bad
very bad, not working good on my brand new MacBook Pro. every time I have problems with my ilok. .. to many teknical problems.
They stole 300 Euro from me
They stole 300 Euro from me . Every month they -30 Euro from my account i didnt know .
Very strange billing policy
Very strange billing policy. I had a free trial, got a confirmation e-mail that it was cancelled, and have been billed despite of this. Where I come from, this is called fraud.
charging subscriptions after you…
charging subscriptions after you cancel. lost 300$
Antares sucks in the morning
Antares sucks in the morning, they suck in the afternoon, and I'm pretty sure they suck at night.
They just plain suck.
Sneaky subscription
I've been added a AutoTune Unlimited subscription to my purchase AutoTune Access, sneakily charging 25$/month for a service I have never requested nor activated. I am always super attentive to sneaky subsciptions, but this one is borderline fraud.
I have politely asked a refund to the merchant which was refused citing "all sales are final".
This was not a sale, this was a fraudolent charge!!
I had to go through the trouble of disputing the charges through my bank. Never again.
Run or pay indefinitely for nothing!
I purchased a product from them and a free trial was included for their AutoTune Unlimited service that is a subscription service. I deactivated the subscription through Auto-Tune Central on the same day. Five months later I spot a payment on my bank statement. They've been billing me for their subscription every month, never sent me one invoice! Efforts to try and get refunded for this subscription was met with "we don't give refunds" Beware! This is well oiled money printing scam!
Latest Auto-Tune is too laggy, mother company has scummy practices
Their flagship product, Auto-Tune Pro, in their latest incarnation, produces ungodly sounds predictably and have a UI so laggy that it's unusable.
Furthermore, once you buy it, they automatically inscribe you in some subscription program of theirs which they charge for after six months, with no previous warning, even if you don't use any of whatever it is for (which I have no idea, but if their #1 product doesn't work, I don't even want to touch their #2 or #3).
