Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 478 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers express significant dissatisfaction with the service, particularly regarding the constant and lengthy advertisements that interrupt content, even for paying subscribers. People feel that the value of their subscription has diminished, as much of the desirable content now requires additional payment or a separate subscription to other services. The overall sentiment is that the service has become too expensive for what it offers, especially with the added cost to remove ads, leading many to consider canceling their subscriptions. Some people also felt that the quality and selection of available content have declined, with many finding little they want to watch or encountering issues with series being cut short. Conversely, a small portion of people mentioned that the service used to be a beneficial addition to their Amazon membership and that some content is still good when it plays without interruption.

The never ending 3 minutes of ads that pop up when…

The 3 minutes of ads that pop up when you walk away, rewind, and generally try to watch the movie are just tooooooooo much. Pace your ads like Hulu - okay, I can take that. I will not pay more to go ad free, I just won't renew prim for anything else. This is so rude for a service we alreadt pay for.

Unacceptable amount of adverts

Prime video has become unwatchable due to the amount of adverts. Every 10 minutes we have to endure Trivago, floor mops, even giving us the option to add items to the basket. I dont want to shop while im trying to relax infront of the tv nor am I willing to pay more for ad free when this used to be part of my annual prime subscription. I won't be watching in future. Anyway most things you have to pay to view now anyway. Greedy Amazon.

3 minutes per advert!!!!

I don't know if i can hate a streaming service more! ads are the reason i hardly ever watch prime video, but the last time they were less than a minute long. today i am looking at multiple, super long ads per episode!!! i am inching closer to cancelling my prime altogether.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would.
There is nothing worth watching on Prime Video unless you pay for a movie or a series, that is along side paying a monthly subscription. The movies are B movies at best, no known actors, poor story lines.
Then on top of paying a monthly subscription you now have to pay to remove adverts! And there's alot of them, can barely watch anything without adverts popping up every ten minutes and it's the same ones, advertising Flash or some other cleaning product, it is mind numbing, annoying and just ridiculous.
I think most people pay the monthly subscription to avoid postage on Amazon and that's it, avoiding 4.99 per item no matter how big or small!
Amazon Prime Video is greed at its worst, it isn't entertainment, it's just daylight robbery. In my opinion Prime shouldnt have any stars!

I was paying extra for ad free

I was paying extra for ad free. Prime video is lying when they stated for $2.99 you can be ad free . When I complained to customer service (if you want to call it that) they said ad free only applies to some of their content.Just more lies from prime video. Also, they do not answer emails or respond to complaints.

Disappointed that films are are not ad free anymore before they were, i do not need to see that you can buy what they are advertising this comes up on the advert . Some films and series you have to pay for i feel are expensive. Prime is now a total rip off net flix is better no ads. I will be leaving prime it was good but you are now riping off customers goodbye 👋

Amazon Prime Video somehow signed…

Amazon Prime Video somehow signed itself up (maybe mistake on the fire stick). I tried to reverse it and get my money back, impossible to contact anyone on the account page only drop down menus. Never thought Amazon can feel like a Scammer page but now it does, will be mor careful with anything to do with them. Now stuck watching their bad movie collection for the next month, since we can only afford 1 subscription, thanks Amazon !

Autoplay next episode cuts off the last…

Autoplay next episode cuts off the last 3-5 minutes of the tv series I am watching. You only have 3 seconds to cancel the autoplay and it is impossible to turn the setting off if you are viewing a fire stick.

You then have to replay the episode, fast forward to the end, rewatch 2 sets of adverts, cancel the autoplay all just to watch the last 3 mins of an episode you had watched all of anyway.

Not as good as they claim to be...

They'll claim they now added a trilogy of a set of movies, but only have part 1 of 3... part 2 and 3 are in another network we have pay extra for like CRAVE or Disney+. Or for longer sets with 5+ movies, they'll have 1 but not 2 nor 3, but they'll have 4 but not 5... 2 and 3 are on CRAVE, but 5 is on Disney... so what crock of B.S are they pulling here.

Like two months ago they claimed the TV series Supernatural is now included with Prime. I watched it before and would like to do so again, so I added it to my favourites list. I was already on a binge with another series I wanted to finish before I started Supernatural. But 2 weeks before the end of the month (November 2025). I notice the Supernatural in my favourites list they advertised as having recently added to Prime as included was now a CRAVE TV channel. What???

So I unfavourited it. Now in 2026 January they've now re-added it back as a Prime Included series. So if I start watching now, before the end will it suddenly jump to CRAVE or Disney+ ???

Plus the amount of commercials and constant programming of those commercials is exhausting as they play the exact same one over and over in each break. I wouldn't mind so much if they mixed them up but no... the same boring and often revolting commercial plays over and over and over again.

Thankfully if I watch from a PC I don't get any ads because I use a browser extension to block ads. And it works wonders on even blocking Youtube ads. But from my TV or phone or tablet - Prime only works from their APP and won't let me run it through a mobile browser of which I can install an Ad blocker.

The part I am annoyed with the most is the GUI is different from platform to platform. From a PC the screen and options look different and even where the screen icons are located in different places. From a PC I know where to click to watch. From a TV it differs and I am limited to a 4-point cursor screen TV remote to surf my way through.

Then their mobile APP is yet a totally different interface even stranger than the TV or PC version. Three different versions of the same thing on three different platforms. Did not one of them think it was a good idea to standardize the GUI across them all???

Plus across all three platforms, there is no save or restart the series. But it must have some sort of way of tracking that we've watched it already. But no way for us to erase that cookie so we can re-watch it from the beginning. Also whatever we watched last will never be saved on the main page. The main will only show the last episode of season one, even though we're up to season four.

It gets saved on a PC, but not on the TV or mobile APP. And the TV version is buggy. It shows episodes first before seasons. Even pushing the cursor down to the seasons bar to scroll left or right to advance or go back a season, sometimes the episodes won't change and still be showing season one, last episode even though we've clicked on another season, it should load that season.

It is not possible to set the preferred language

It's absurd to have to watch commercials every time before you can see if the movie is in the language I want or if there are at least subtitles... plus you pay a pretty penny for the subscription, and you're forced to watch the 2-minute commercials that come on every 15-20 minutes of the movie... unless you pause it, otherwise you'll have to watch them as soon as you start it again. Plus, even if it were acceptable, when the commercials come on, you have to turn the sound down because it's so loud and poorly loaded that you hear the echo underneath and can't understand anything. The bigger these companies get, the more disgusting they become. Then they complain if people start pirating movies; they've taken away the pleasure of watching movies in peace.

Sound & video not in sync

Watching NBA and there is a 2 second delay. I hear the sound of a whistle, a dunk or the ball swishing through the net. And then a second or 2 later I see the action of the game. It’s a horrible way to watch a game!!! I tried logging in and out. And turning my tv off. Nothing has helped

Just started watching `steal` on amazon…

Just started watching `steal` on amazon prime. It is a series designed to build tension but guess what???? advert after advert breaks..... is ruining a good watch. They are treating the subscriber to a poor experience in enjoyment of this series simply to max out what will be gained from advertisement revenue . Amazon Prime is exploiting the customer who has already paid you £95.

Very difficult to contact Amazon Prime…

Very difficult to contact Amazon Prime Video. I wanted them to remove two-step verification on my account because I don't have access to the cellphone number that is linked to my account. I have decided not to keep the money in my account so that they won't find their subscription payment, it the only way I can try to cancel my subcription with them.

ADS ADS ADS - Almost every other show requires a payment.

Despite paying for a subscription, you get ads everywhere, and literally over half the films and shows you see, are hidden behind a paywall. Wtf is the point of this service, I don't know. Makes no sense whatsoever. Going to finish watching our series and cancel.
