Google Ads = Bad service
Dealing with Google Ads and its support has been an absolute nightmare. I exchanged emails with them for over 4 weeks and the ticket has being passed to a different person nearly every single time. What is worst... they would pretend not to read all the information provided before... and answer after days with feedback that would not be relevant or of support in any case... the scope is to prevent you from getting into the market. Why? They just allow some people.. moving on with doubtful criteria. If you open a case they don't even get back to you. I didn't know Google Ads was this rubbish until I started dealing with its support and its constant restrictions which have no sense in my case.
No it's all clear and the campaign will probably be paused for ever.
Google Ads is the worst advertising…
Google Ads is the worst advertising platform and strategy. Its algorithms are nothing more than transparent scam tactics designed to drain your budget while delivering little to no return. They routinely inflate the number of clicks and conversions you supposedly receive, and conveniently hike up CPC as soon as your business starts earning a dime. It’s baffling how they haven’t been sued globally, given that this is one of the clearest examples of a fraudulent business model operating on a worldwide scale. Monopolies should be illegal, outlawed, and strictly enforced everywhere. Google’s dominance must be brought to an end.
An absolute scam!
An absolute scam!
I kept getting the offer of receiving $400 ad credit for spending $400. I did my half of the deal, but because I spent a SINGLE PENNY, SEVENTEEN years ago, under a different company name, they refused. Seriously, Google is dead to me after this. I am not surprised to see that they have the lowest rating I've ever seen. Keep away from them!
Misleading Promotions & Monopoly
Misleading Promotions & No Real Alternatives
I’m beyond frustrated with Google Ads—not just because of their dishonest advertising, but because, as a business owner, I have no real choice but to use them. They dominate online advertising so completely that avoiding them isn’t an option, especially for niche, local services like mine.
Their promotion promised €800 in ad credit after spending €1200, supposedly applied automatically. I followed the terms, yet the credit never appeared. Support was unhelpful, offering vague excuses instead of fixing the issue. It’s infuriating to be forced to rely on a platform that treats its customers this way—knowing full well we can’t walk away.
Google holds all the power, and they exploit it. They bait businesses with promotions they don’t honor, counting on the fact that we have to use them regardless. It’s a disgrace, but what’s worse is that there’s no real alternative.
If you must use Google Ads (and let’s face it, you probably do), go in with eyes wide open: their promises mean nothing, and you’ll be at the mercy of their incompetence. One star because zero isn’t an option.
Unexpected £200 bill 4 months after…
Unexpected £200 bill 4 months after finishing ads with threats of transfer to a debt agency since. Virtually no return on investment from £700 ad spend the year before.
Ads were always paid in increments of between £30 and £100 a month so no idea why they decided to charge this. Clearly a fraudulent business model, had more success with Facebook ads.
Absolute criminals
Absolute criminals, I would not bother advertising through Google.
I had over £650 taken out of my bank unlawfully by Google ads, I raised the concern with my bank and said it was fraudulent activity, the bank initially refunded me and then the bank raised the issue with Google and Google told them that they were indeed my transactions and the bank took the money back from me.
Now I’m going back and forth with an incompetent individual at Google who is asking for the same information over and over, even tho I have provided everything, and the funny thing is, Google apparently can’t find the transactions ? Even tho I’ve sent them bank statements with all the funds leaving the account, so why did they tell the bank they were my transactions ? For such a big company, it’s absolutely awfully managed.

I ran a Google Ads campaign with pay-per-click, but I got charged over $400 with zero clicks. The balance kept increasing even though no one clicked my ads. I kept paying, thinking it was a mistake, but Google charged me unfairly. Very disappointed and feel this needs urgent attention.
I am not sure if Google Ad is managed by the third party. If it is they are misusing the system offcourse their main goal is to increase profit for Google but this is not a correct practice I don't they will sustain if continue to do this.
i called what i thought was google ads
i called what i thought was google ads, but it was advertising agency, several of them, i just wanted to start off with $2,000 a month, But they all tried to upsell me,3 of them said they did not want to do business with me,one said he did not like my web site, the other one talked so fast, i got my worker to come to the phone, he understands computer talk better then me, but he could not make heads nor tails of what she was saying. so after hours and hours on the phone we could not do business with google ads
I would not consider using adwords
I would not consider using adwords. If set up wrong you gain click for useless clients and most of my clients now avoid.
Most campaigns set up correct, loads of clicks to website not a call not an email and just odd.
From plastering to locksmiths I’ve a client base who do not now use this service.
Some going back to traditional print and postage. That shows effort and input.
Come to payment also thier payment system is shocking for a large company.
Had its time
Google Ads Is Running a Scam on Small Businesses
Google Ads is stealing from small businesses through deceptive “Smart Campaigns.” I was charged €280 for clicks from completely unrelated websites and keywords I never approved. There was no option to select real keywords or disable this automated mess. When I contacted support, they ignored my concerns, sent canned responses, and refused to issue a refund. This is not just bad service—it’s predatory and illegal.
Google, the richest ad company in the world, makes billions from tricking small advertisers into spending money on worthless traffic with zero transparency or accountability. I’ve pulled my ads, and I urge every freelancer, small agency, and ethical business to boycott Google Ads until they stop abusing their dominance.

Been using Google Ads and their predecessors for absolutely years...i used to run and manage all campaigns and ads. Over time they have constantly made it more and more overcomplicated.
Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish! Ongoing issues for 5 months and utter stress!! No-one ever responds or calls when the assure you they will. Using indian call centres to save money but they dont know what they're talking about and dont deal with the issue, just sent a Standard email which makes no sense. Google deserves to go bankrupt. No business should be successful with such terrible customer service. What a rubbish company.
Similar to a online casino
Similar to a online casino! You hope to win by generating more business to a site... But the casino always wins by updating it's rules which is impossible to manage . The house always wins. The sooner the governing authorities of the net ban this the better.
Should be simple the ones that maintain their websites regularly and keep the potential visitor updated should be in the top three pages when searching.
Just avoid it save your money and invest in another source of marketing.

There is something seriously wrong with this company. They should be investigated by not only the FAA by an attorney general in each state. They have called my phone number over 250 times and I have complained through the do not call to stop calling my number. They keep calling. And then when you call to get your number removed you get some snotty idiot who hangs up on you. Perfect way to do business. I don't want you calling I don't want you bothering me and you really need to be shut down.

I spent a lot of money to create my online shop, now Google doesn't allow me to renew it because it doesn't like my documents.
The Mafia of the Advertising World
I was charged £302.66 twice across two accounts for campaigns I never approved—one even created by an unknown email. Despite multiple emails, zero response from support. One rep promised a refund, another ignored my cancellation request. Now my account is suspended over an £83.01 balance caused by their own rep’s misleading actions.
No accountability. No transparency. Just silence.
Dear Google Ads Team,
Dear Google Ads Team,
I am reaching out with an urgent request to close my account and cease the ongoing charges, which continue despite my having closed all campaigns and removed all ads. My website no longer uses Google Ads, and I do not require any further advertising activity. I request that my account be immediately deleted and all charges stopped.
My accounts are as follows:
1. Google Ads account for the "Digital Books for Kids" company (Account Number: 258-185-4243)
2. Unnamed Account (Account Number: 409-434-4174)
3. "Magical Pages" Account (Account Number: 7101248233)
I have repeatedly contacted support, provided all the necessary information, and answered all questions, but instead of resolving my issue, I am being continuously offered calls, despite my explaining that I do not speak English. Instead of solving the problem, I am being offered only unclear steps, which do not resolve the issue.
I insist on the immediate deletion of my accounts and the cessation of all charges. Please confirm in your response that the deletion process will be completed as soon as possible.
I no longer need to use Google Ads and respectfully request that all three of the accounts mentioned above be closed, and that no further charges be applied.
I ask for your leadership team to make a decision on this request without further delay, and provide me with a contact person for the escalation of this matter.
Kind regards,
Sergey
Support is the worst it's ever been
We're a 400+ employee, super Google-centric, agency that has brought hundreds of millions of business to Google over the years. The support we're receiving now has been some of the worst I've ever seen from any company. And I know, we're lucky to get any support at all as most agencies lost real agency support in the last 12 months. Given the size of our agency and the business we manage on Google Ads and bring to the Google eco-system, the complete lack of care & attention has really been eye-opening.
My client's account was suspended for…
My client's account was suspended for Phishing. We have tried to diagnose and fix the issue multiple times. They are not phishing, but somehow, somewhere, Google thinks they are. Google won't tell us where or how it thinks they are phishing. So, we continue to look for a needle in a haystack. I've recommended that my client pivot to Microsoft ads and social media ads.
Customer service is a thing of the past
I have been working on Google Ads accounts for 12 years now, and this is by far the worst the company has ever been. There is no customer care any more, so if you ever have account issues, you raise a ticket, someone tries to solve it and then when its too difficult you get blanked. If you raise a new ticket that whole process starts again. Customer service number no longer exists, but they still have the resources for Google account managers to call you to offer advice, and it is a thinly veiled sales call with no actual advice given of any use. Once I decided to cut them some slack and apply their advice to one of my clients accounts...the CPA quadrupled, and that was the last time I did that. I would be avoiding them like the plague if I could, but they hold the monopoly on Paid Search.
