The team initially reviewed and revised my Google Ads campaign, and I did see an improvement in performance during the first week.

Unfortunately, after that, the agent made a series of changes to the campaign that had a severe negative impact on my business. Sales stopped almost completely, and by the time we realized what had happened, we had gone nearly 20 days without a single sale.

One of the most concerning issues was that negative keywords were added to one of our main product campaigns. In effect, this instructed Google not to show our adverts to people searching for the very products we sell. As a result, visibility and sales dropped dramatically.

It also became clear that the agent did not fully understand our products or target market. Important product highlights were rewritten using AI generated content that did not accurately reflect what we sell, making our adverts less relevant and less effective.

The decisions made during the management of our account caused significant financial damage to our business and undermined the progress that had initially been achieved.

AI-generated headlines and content were used without proper review. In some cases, the ads had random images paired with unrelated headlines, for example an office chair advert using a whiteboard image.

The bid strategy was changed to focus on ROAS, even though this strategy only works properly when there is enough reliable conversion data. That was not the case here.

Essential keywords were added as negative keywords. For example, we sell office chairs, but terms such as “office task chair”, “Humanscale Freedom task chair”, and even “casters” were added as negatives. These are highly relevant terms for our products

I'm a small business owner and I want to give an honest, detailed account of my experience with Add People, because I wish someone had warned me before I signed up. I used them for both website work and paid ads (not SEO), and both experiences were poor.

I joined in January 2024 for a lead-generation package at £238.20 a month including VAT. The low monthly cost is what draws you in — it feels affordable and low-risk. My problems were never really about the price; they were about the quality of what was delivered and how the company behaves when something goes wrong.

The website was a serious issue. What I received looked like generic, AI-generated content with spelling mistakes and untidy, inconsistent design. I was also billed around £60 a month for website updates on a site that wasn't even live yet — paying for updates to something that didn't exist. The site was built on a platform with no backend, which left an API key exposed on the front end. I was then hit with spam that cost me hundreds of pounds before I caught it. The whole website eventually had to be rebuilt by a different firm — the money I'd paid was effectively wasted.

The billing was the other major problem. In February 2025 I decided to cancel. My contract required one month's notice, so on the 19th of February I gave notice on a recorded phone call with their head of billing, who repeated the cancellation terms back to me, confirmed he understood, and processed it. I withdrew consent for any payments after the final one due on the 22nd of February.

Despite that, £238.20 continued to leave my account on the 22nd of March, April, May and June 2025 — four separate payments after a cancellation their own billing manager had confirmed. I have the bank statements and the recording of that call. When I raised it, a director of customer relations first offered — as a "favour" — not to take a fifth month's payment, which struck me as a strange way to describe stopping charges I'd already cancelled. He then offered a two-month refund. I declined, since I'd been charged for four months, not two, and I sent him my evidence of the cancellation. He confirmed he'd received it and said he'd follow up. Instead, even that offer was withdrawn and I was offered nothing. Every attempt to resolve it amicably ended the same way.

In my experience, the sales side was polished and persuasive, but the technical delivery behind it did not match. I've since moved to a different company who have been genuinely excellent, so I know what good service looks like — and this wasn't it.

My honest advice to any small business owner: don't be pulled in by the low monthly cost. Check exactly what you're getting, read the cancellation terms, keep written proof of every conversation, and check your bank statements every month. In my experience they took very little accountability when things went wrong, and seemed to count on you being too busy running your business to keep chasing. Don't let being busy cost you the way it cost me.

No results after 10 months of service now im being threatened with legal action

We were put in touch with add people for advertisment services,

As a small business we have to be careful with who we trust with out small marketing budget and at the intitial call, Add people seemed the right fit.

We agreed to do the onboarding process, things were ok but it was only 4 weeks and we decided to trust them and sign up for a 6 month contract.

the first 3 months were dreadful, barely no results or sales through google, costing us £799 a month for their services plus the £600 a month spend on google.

At this point i mentioned we had really strong socials that we had grown organically through tik tok, youtube, instagram and facebook.

They agreed maybe we should try social media ads for the final 3 months.

1st month was dud, 3 sales they thought came through ads, consistent excuses with tracking not working on our wix site etc.

It was later seen those sales recorded were also fraudulant purchases, (not add peoples fault i know)

then came April with another 3, May was 0

At this point we had been spending more money since we started with Add people that we had made.

The adverts where a completete loss.

As we were out of contract i terminated their services as we could not financially pay for them any more as we where losing money.

I explained the reason why and i had called it before the next DD was due for another month.

Add people now claim they need a 30 days notice and want us to pay for a further month of their services without providing any more work as thats what they require.

I have refused as this experiment has cost us approximately £ 9793 when you include their service fee and ad spend.

We have now received legal threats over £799 for a month of service that we dont want and which they will be providing no work for.

Avoid this company, do not use them. they will tell you what you want to hear to gain your trust, as soon as your not happy with the service and refuse their work any longer like we did. they will harrass you with legal proceedings.

I am a small business, just 1 man .. and to think Add people deserve more payment after such abysmal results tells you everything you need to know.

The team has worked hard, and the results have translated into clicks and revenue for the business, thank you to the continued support and work efforts from the team at Add People.

Spoke with the guys and girls here when i was looking for my website to be built. id spoken with a few companies and was always under pressure to sign up for the special deal that day i did not have any of that pressure from Hammed my sales liaison guy so much that when i was ready 2 months later to get the ball rolling he honoured what he had told me and sorted it out. he teamed me up with Miles who built the site for me and altered it as i wanted and did magic as far as i am concerned and moving forward the team are on the end of the phone when i need them make alterations very very quickly personal service is what my company runs on and to find a team with the same values is outstanding and rare. I can honestly say that value for money considering the service and their willingness to help all the time cant be beaten
