scam. they say their like your image and ask for $20 or $30 to submit more images for consideration.

I'm usually uneasy about letting other people publish my work. I have strong personal connection with my outputs and really, really don't like losing my control over their release. Any artist would probably understand (right?). When 1340gallery people contacted me, I have to admit I had my apprehensions, especially given above hang-ups. But, okay, give it a try, right? Happy to say that things have been nothing but great for me working with them and it was well worth every bit of effort put in to be part of this artist collection.
Great way to discover new artists. Also got a subscription to your magazine.

It may not be a scam, but definitely a waste of money. Their website currently has 3,496 paintings listed. That's a lot of unsold paintings and do you think any collector will browse through nearly 4,000 pieces of work? If any artist feels the money is worth it, then by all means feel free to do it, but chances are you're just making the website owners rich. $20 x 5000 (current number of works on their website) images equals $100,000 just for submission to their print magazine. Who knows how much more they're making on putting artists' works on their website.
There is a never ending list of these supposed art magazines promoting desperate artists' works and the only ones making money are these websites, not the artists. I received the same solicitation and I turned down their offer. My advice to all artists is to save your money. You're only making them rich.

This is actually 100% just a scam operation. No legitimate gallery or art publication hunts down artists online, requests to post their work and then follows up asking for money. Is scamming artists what you turned to after your own art career failed ? Also they won't stop sending me emails telling me it's my "last chance."

As an invited artist given the opportunity to expose some of my work with 1340Gallery, I have been very pleased with the experience I've had. Not only is the platform very professionally laid out and designed, but the help I've received via email from the 1340 team has been so warm, welcoming, and kind. I am very pleased with how my work is represented through 1340Gallery and feel it is part of a high caliber of contemporary art that is lovingly curated. Thank you, 1340Gallery, for this lovely opportunity and I'm excited to see what this exposure will do for my work on a larger scale.

1340Gallery is a fabulous platform for both new and established artists. Thank you for providing the opportunities to showcase our works with your magazine.
Great portfolio of artwork. Keep up the good work.
1340 contacted me after seeing my work on my social media pages. It's great to see that there are still people actively looking for good and new art. Working with them has been a great experience. I'm really happy to see my work in their gallery. It's an honor to be included in this pool of talent!

Very vibrant gallery and community. Everyone is so supportive of each other, especially the 1340 team. Aspiring artists get to boost each other up. I think that's pretty great that they've created this space for us.

I'm super concerned this is a scam. After I came down off cloud 9 of being recognized for a hobby I do for fun, I started thinking and did some research and man am I worried I just lost $30. I've been looking for a way to contact the magazine to discuss but there is no customer service number and I have no way to request a refund.
Looking for feedback and trying to determine how legit this is. I am hoping for the best but fear I'm just naïve and too trusting :(

My work was struggling a bit, to be completely honest. The creative side was never really a problem for me, but marketing myself to get my work exposed always stumped me. Grateful forever to have been contacted by 1340. They helped me where I couldn't help myself: in expanding my art's reach. My business has been growing in ways impossible with my own social network. All these artists working together is really great, especially for one's starting out like me.

Hi Guys, I tried to email you with some questions about selling my work in your gallery. Can you please check. Great website btw. Would be nice if my work would be visible amongst the other artists on there.
Very nice to see all these different artists from all over the world. Makes me a bit unsure about my work to be honest. keep up to good work team 1340gallery!
It has been great working with you. really nice to see my work in a gallery. lets sell!!!! Thank you again
Not many chances come up where I can really share and promote my work, so I was extra excited about working with 1340. Honestly, the results have been quite good for me. My engagement has increased, plus I got to contribute to a great community of creatives. Win-win that I'd take any day.
Took a while but finally, I was able to upload my work to the online gallery! Thank you for accepting me.
This is company is fraudulent!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. I was approached by one of their ‘curators’ via Instagram who left a comment inviting me to submit my work. So I searched 1340 in my instagram, the official site has over 30,000 followers which is super appealing but look further people! There are over 50 Instagram account with the user name ‘1340sabrina’ or ‘1340steve’ , ‘1340hannah’ etc. ALL claiming to be curators at the magazine. This is the first warnings sign. Secondly the competition details are very vague , no indication of the dates of the so called ‘ judges panel’, no information on who is on the panel and no indication initiallly of the fee. A valid competition would have to outline these. There’s no public record of the ‘curators’ online on any platform , very unusual for such a ‘accomplished’ international magazine !
Having received the invite to submit you will receive a auto-gentrated e-mail that starts something like , ‘hey I have some good news regarding your submission from a few days ago...you’ve be preselected and are in the final round’ with a link to send them $30. LOG OUT HERE DO NOT SEND THEM CASH.
They claim to be a magazine who operate on a 75% advertisement rate but look at examples of old editions of the ‘magazine’ on their website ....not a single page allocated to advertisement , just a very asthetically pleasing collection of images and a professional looking website. No evidence of any regulation bodies accrediting the site , for example Better business burea have no record of 1340 as a legitimate company.
There is no way to see where this magazine is stocked other than by looking at their website , so you’ll have to take it at face value that it is ever printed anywhere.
Basically this is a fake company who has a good website , generated a a lot of Instagram followers but has no substance what so ever. They do not exist in a physical space nor is there’s anyway to authenticate their business. Plus any email you’ll receive from them will rather conviently be stamped with a 9 out of ten Trust Pilot rating placed in the ledger of the e-mail. If you look at all the positive reviews of 1340 on Trust Pilot you will see they all have the same tone, limited wording and vague statements from ‘ artist’ these reviews are more than likely generated by the company themselves in a bid to up its rating. They simply just don’t read like genuine reviews.
I asked for details of previous winners , who we’re they, could I be directed to their Instagram pages to check they really exist but the response I got politely dodged this and sent me links to their website to support all their invalid claims about legitimacy. Again another warning sign. Why isn’t there record of previous winners anywhere? Because there aren’t any !!!
Anyway as tempting as this may be don’t part with your precious artwork images or cash !
