I was approached by them and all I can say is: that's very much predatory. Actually like the "artist" is the customer, not the creator!
Legit magazines and galleries MAKE you money, not TAKE your money.
+ Where are the official rules of your fake contest ? Impossible to found them, and surprisingly no answer from you about that.

Receiving exposure is valuable for an artist. Somehow people question the numbers on our Website. But they are correct (we actually need to update them because they are even higher now). So your work will actually be seen by many people. Some people call it pay to play, but maybe you should view it as an opportunity. We deliberately decided to make pages available for upcoming artists. This means we lose advertisement income. Sorry, but we are still a company and so we need to make up for lost income somehow.
We have the following teams:
Blog team, working on the blog, selecting artists, editing text etc.
YouTube team. Editing RAW video. Finding artists to make a video (Not easy because sometimes people are shy)
Magazine team. Trust me a lot of work and many people are involved.
Support team.
All of this costs money. Our people work hard and deserve fair pay (I hope you agree). Again, we offer you the opportunity. It’s up to you if you enter. You can always tell us it’s not for you, maybe one of our other options suit better.

All in all, we feel it’s a good deal. You have the chance to get a lot of exposure. Exposure a starting artist would normally not get.

I was impressed with the excellent communication from the 1340gallery site after I made the purchase. It was very professional and frequent. The painting arrived promptly and was in fine condition. Now I feel good about listing my own art (soon) to present for sale.

Scammer! Only a rental postal address box in the Netherlands so they could registrate their fake bussiness at the The Dutch Chamber of Commerce (to make it look legit). There is no gallery!
Apparently "owned" by a Dutch 'artist' from Amsterdam with an instagram account with a lot of (fake) followers but few likes on his pictures.
He 'rebranded' the magazine (you can find an article online). But what he actually does is using the name to scam other artist.
I live in the Netherlands and also recieved the same invitation & e-mails. Didn't trust it, so decided to check out the address on the email & registration at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. All fake.
Don't give any money-use it to create more art & evolve into becoming a better artist.
*UPDATE* this review was just reported by 1340gallery themselves without ANY any explaination/reason! More reason to have the real truth out on the internet about this scammer.

In The Netherlands, it’s not possible to register a company with a P.O. Box address. It’s a good thing that’s the case. Our team consists of talented art enthusiasts all over the world with 25% being artists themselves. Part of our support team is based in South Africa and The Netherlands. Other team members are located in Italy, and in the US. A global team that works through Skype, video and email mostly. Our company is registered in The Netherlands. The address on our registration was the house of the founders. We just don’t live in the big offices' era anymore. We had people showing up to that place, so we decided to add our postal office address instead. After reading your comment, we regret it. We have now decided to rent a basic office and use that address in our contact info. Please contact us directly for any queries or concerns and we will be happy to provide more details.

I worry I may have been scammed. I paid the $30 fee without doing any research and it dawned on me this morning that it was a scam. And now that I’m searching the web, I’m seeing other worried artists. If I submitted to their Instagram for free, then why didn’t they first feature me there and then offer me the magazine deal?

I would very much like to connect with an artist who has work with 1340Art Magazine.
I am very concerned. I only submited low resolution and watermarked images.
Funny thing is I have 2 emails, a bussiness and personal.
The told both emails, using the same IG that the images were low quality and could not be accepted.
Next day, both emails had response saying I moved to the next round. I thought they couldnt accept the work because of the image quality?
It seems the can not decern my pen name even though one just includes the word "boutique".
I kinda want them to stop following my instagram.
Im very protective of my artwork.
I have worked in galleries, reputable, well established, and I know how one gets representation.

Had a good experience with 1340
Had a good experience with 1340. They were prompt with their communication and easy to work with. They contacted me about showing my work and there was the typical $30 application fee so of course I wanted to make sure I wasn't being scammed before submitting and after snooping around the web a bit I saw they are legit. Also even though I didn't get into their magazine they still offered to show some of my work for free on their blog which was a nice consolation prize. So yes, they are cool by me.

Website is very alluring, however if you look closer there is not a single magazine that is posted, nor a legitimate address that can be searched for this company. They just put a random obscure address on the hopes you dont look into it. If you look up there is also no reputable curator named Caitlyn Tait anywhere to be found online. Very flattering at first, however think about it, an international company from random instagram accounts that have no followers want to help sell your art.. Also an excess of positive reviews on trust pilot I don't buy. This has scam written all over it! Do your research! Oh you want to publish my art but I have to pay to do so?The fees go to the artists? Prove it! Where are all the winners of these supposed magazines? Who is the staff of this supposed reputable organization? Put art1340 magazine into your google search bar and the first thing that pops up is SCAM !

As much as I like my work, o find it hard to believe that a hobby artist with a little over 200 followers would be sooo hotly demanded by a legit company.
