Surprising exceptions in coverage and impolite treatment

Not only the insurance wasn’t helpful for me, but also the customer service is incompetent and rude. I had an accident, which wasn’t covered by the insurance, which is ok, but I purchased an extra coverage for the glass damage. After the accident I called them and asked whether I can get reimbursed at least for the glass and they said yes. When I brought the car with an evacuator to the partner company of the insurance, it turned out, they need to request an additional permission, because the glass damage was associated with an accident. They took a whole day to respond to the company (not to me directly) that it’s not covered. I only knew that after calling the insurance directly, and when I asked the worker to point me to the specific paragraph in the rules that is stating this exception, he refused and told me that I have to find it myself reading through 50 pages of legal text. In addition, he laughed in my face about me insisting to get a detailed explanation of their reasoning. It made me feel very frustrated and stressed. I read through the conditions and didn’t find this exception. I still haven’t received any official reasoning from them in written form. I never encountered such an impolite and unprofessional behavior in any other bank or insurance.

Hidden costs led to 3x increased price.
I’ve booked a car on the CarJet website for my trip to Ponta Delgada, and payed 29 euros in advance. I’ve received a voucher containing information about the remaining sum - 14,20 euros. I also specified the pickup and return time which was early in the morning- on the website it didn’t affect the price. There was NO INFORMATION about the deposit high on the voucher and in the confirmation email. I have printed it out and still have it.
When I arrived at the airport to pick up the car at the Ilha Verde shelter, I found out that
1. To be able to return the car at 5 a.m. I need to pay 30 euros extra.
2. I need to leave a 1300 euros deposit for the car OR take an additional insurance for another 50 euros!
My credit card limit didn’t allow me to leave the deposit (since NOWHERE on the website there was an information that such a high deposit is required for a very regular car and there was no information on the voucher mentioning it). I decided not to take the car, since the price for the overall rent would be more than 120 euros instead of 43 which is 3 times as much. I was forced to take a taxi to the city and look for another rental service - their price was still under this sum and the deposit was only 90 euros.
I wrote a support request to CarJet to get back the prepaid money. More than a week later I received an email with the information about the deposit (which was supposed to be sent to me BEFORE the rent begins). Than I received a regular email containing a refusal to refund the money, because the information about the deposit was contained in the voucher - which is NOT TRUE.
Overall a disappointing experience.

All what you mentiones is the same informaiotn that you can see on our website several times.

The first time is right under the picture of each car. "Ts & Cs"

Afterwards once you select the car we show a summary of the bookign where you can also see the excess amount, the deposit and the insurance conditions too. Actually you can also download it any time before you place the booking because is available for all the customers only by clicking on "Insurance policy"

Additionally, we always make sure the customer is aware of all the general conditions because the only way to confirm the payment is when you mark the box "I have read and accept the general terms and conditions of the booking"

Finally, we send exactly the same again by email, this time to your own email as a reminder of your booking informaion.
