Non-existent customer service
Firstly, let me say the quality of the furniture and the value for money is a 5 out of 5. We were so happy with the furniture that we had previously bought, in September we returned to Oak Furniture Land for the fourth time.
Thankfully in those three previous occasions we never experienced any problems, however, when we did on our latest experience, it is the customer service, or rather the complete lack of it, which scores Oak Furniture Land just a 1 out of 5.
We made our order in early September and I was advised that the order would be delivered in early October, which tied in perfectly with our impending house move. Somewhat to my surprise, just 3 days after placing my order I received a text message advising that my order would be delivered jus a week later. Therefore, I contacted Oak Furniture Land to ask whether it would be possible to delay the delivery until early October to tie in with our house move. “No problem”, said the lady that I spoke with, there was absolutely no way that the order would not be reallocated and I just needed to call when I was ready to take delivery.
So, at the end of September I contacted Oak Furniture Land arrange shipment of my order. To my amazement I was advised that the order "released" to someone else. I was then told that there was no further stock and that delivery would be another 2 months, meaning that we had no furniture for our new house. Countless promises of calls, none of which were forthcoming, followed. Still without a satisfactory response, or any response for that matter, I found the email address of Jason Bannister, the Company CEO (Google it and you will find it at ceoemail.com). Surprisingly, I was called the very next day by a guy called Dave, the Customer Services Manager.
In fairness to “Dave”, he was helpful to a point, however, he failed to provide any explanation why our furniture was given away to someone else, and in a desperate bid to make sure that we had furniture for our new house, we begrudgingly accepted different furniture, which in hindsight we now regret doing.
And did we receive any apology, certainly not. All-in-all a very disappointing end to what had otherwise been a really positive experience of Oak Furniture Land. Unfortunately, from reading other reviews of Oak Furniture Land, it seems that their customer service, or complete lack of it, falls far below the standard and quality of their furniture, which is a shame.
As far as we are concerned that will be the last time with ever use them. Everyday we look a furniture in our house, which was not what we choose, but was forced to accept out of desperation of otherwise moving home without any furniture.
As I say, great furniture and value for money, but god help you if anything goes wrong, as one thing is for certain, Oak Furniture Land won’t help you or apologise!
