Company refuses to refund defective item

Do not buy from them - this boutique is extremely dishonest. They sold me a defective dress, with the sequins and the threads falling off, which I reported within 7 days. They did not offer me a refund as they claim their return policy only allows 48 hours to report a defect, even though their website says return requests can be made within 7 days. I was also out of town when this package was delivered, it was late to arrive and I didn’t even open it until days later. Plus, some defects require further inspection as they aren’t obvious upon first glance. They did offer me a replacement but why would I be confident in accepting a new item when the quality of the first item is so poor? I opened up a dispute with my credit card company and they’ve accused me of being a scammer who is trying to “keep the dress and the money”, but I don’t even want the stupid dress! I just want to send it back and get my money refunded! What a joke.

1, Delivery Timeline:
You placed your order on December 21, 2024, choosing our complimentary economy shipping to Canada. As stated on our website and confirmed at checkout, this method requires 3–5 business days for order processing and 15–20 business days for international delivery. These timelines exclude weekends and public holidays (including Christmas and New Year). Based on this, the estimated delivery window was between January 24 and January 31, 2025. However, according to tracking records, the package was delivered on January 8 — nearly three weeks earlier than expected.

2, Defect Report Period:
Our return and defect policy, which is available on our website, requires customers to report any defects within 48 hours of delivery and to return the item within 7 days. The item was delivered to you on January 8, and your first report of the issue was received on January 15 — 8 days later. Unfortunately, this falls outside our reporting timeframe.

3, Refund and Communication:
Upon receiving your message on January 15, we responded promptly the following day, on January 16, asking whether the original tags were still attached so we could proceed with a resolution. We did not receive a reply from you after that. Instead, a dispute was filed with your bank. We submitted all relevant communication records and shipping documentation to support our case, and the dispute was resolved in our favor. If your intent was to resolve the matter in good faith, we believe continued communication with us would have been more constructive than initiating a chargeback.

4, Terms and Conditions:
We also noted that you read and accepted our shopping terms prior to your purchase — including subscribing to our newsletter to obtain a discount code, and applying the free economy shipping option. This indicates a clear understanding and agreement with the conditions presented.

That said, we remain committed to customer satisfaction. If the item is still unworn and the original tags are intact, we would be happy to offer a free replacement. Please respond to our previous message so we can proceed accordingly.

We hope to resolve this amicably and thank you again for your attention.

Do not buy from this merchant

Do not buy from this merchant, it's not worth it. The time I spent exchanging and sending back the item on my own dime ($13.60) and they charged me a re-stocking fee. These folks are not in the business for the consumer, only for themselves and will not put you first! After much back and forth (several weeks and hours of my time), even sending them an exchange item to replace the original I purchased for $180, only to be told the item was no longer available (but still on their website), I was beyond frustrated. Do yourself a favor, and save your money, save your frustration!

Customer service was awesome

Customer service was awesome. They made sure to respond swiftly. They were the last boutique I found selling a viral dress that was sold out everywhere. And they had it slightly cheaper than everywhere else too. They were able to help me with some logistics before the shipment was sent. All of their info is stated clearly on the website and they help if you have additional questions. 10/10 would recommend

Would buy again

I purchased a Nili Lotan sweater from Zoom Boutique and I am so happy with my purchase! All my questions were answered quickly, my order shipped quickly and the sweater is in perfect condition and I love it! I would not hesitate to purchase here again because I am so happy with the price and what I received.

Terrible customer experience

Terrible customer experience.
They changed an item I bought to on sale after I purchased it and refused to refund me when I tried to return it (or even give me an in store credit!).
My receipt shows no discount or final sale and once I forwarded it to them, they refused to answer my emails.
At no point was it listed as on sale or final sale.. the price was cheaper than other websites because the TAGS HAVE BEEN REMOVED.
This place is a scam - do not buy!

Thank you for the feedback, really sorry to hear you are not happy. Here we try to help, after checking the conversation with you, it turns out you placed the item which is on sale since July 2021. The original price is 695$, but you only paid 385$ plus standard shipping fee 10$. You can also find the original price on the brand company website. It's impossible to "change" it to sales after you place order, as we are not able to foreseeing who would request return. We did reply you asap for each of your request within half business day, and we also explained we don't accept returns for sales or discounted item, (you should have read and agreed with our store terms on our return policy before placing orders), but we do accept size exchange, if it doesn't fit you, we are happy to help you exchange to a fitted size, however you didn't answer us. If you like to exchange, we are still happy to help, please contact us by email or online chat and we can arrange it. Any other questions please feel free to let us know. Thanks a lot.

Was not sure if the store was legit

I stumbled upon Zoom Boutique by accident and to be completely honest I was not sure if I should order from an online store I’ve never ordered from before. I searched for reviews but there weren’t that many, neither were there lots of posts on their Instagram or Facebook. Despite all that I decided to take the risk and order the cardigan I had been looking at for a few days. I thought to myself it would either be a fail or an amazing bargain. And luckily for me it was the latter! The store is legit, I got my cardigan a couple weeks after I ordered it and I love it so much! Amazing quality, great prices!

Best customer service

Best customer service! Ordered A gorgeous coat online, it was shipped to me very quickly! I was concerned it would be too large for me which unfortunately it was because it was beautiful, the seller allowed returns and I was promptly refunded! Would buy from this company again! Thank you so much

SCAM!

What a shi** company are you?!
BEWARE! This store is a scam! Never received my order and when I contacted them they said they delivered it to my mail box and when I said that my mailbox is not big enough they usually deliver packages to my door they told me to switch to a bigger mail box and contact my local police department. This company is obviously a scam!!!!

We are in private community, nothing was ever stolen from us! In all the years we live here we have received all the packages! We also have cameras around the house, there was no delivery at the door.

How can you state that you have my bank on your side if I just reported it to my bank after I wrote this review and the investigation will take place and may not be resolved until Jan 8?! 😆 you guys are a SCAM!!!!

You told us your mail box is too small so you let postman always leave it outside of your front door. We have contacted USPS and they confirmed us again that it's been delivered as the above information.

We understand you are upset about the loss, but it is unfair to say we are scam to every review platform. In fact other buyers can see the proof and judge by themselves.

USPS sides with us, if you open bank dispute, in most of the cases bank sides with us as well, will definitely update honestly here with the proof too.

You can't accusing us for someone stealing the post because you let them leave it outside on your front door. As USPS suggested, please contact policeman and check CCTV, they will be able to help, it's beyond our control to investigate who is the one to steal your post. If there's no one come to deliver on that day 14th Oct by CCTV record, you need give this record to police and sue USPS. We can send you again the original shipping label and USPS delivered confirmation to them as well. If there's anything else we can do, please let us know.

Brilliant service and product.

Once order was placed they kept me fully updated with where my order was which I could track as well and it all arrived very promptly.
