Avoid this hotel at all costs!!!

Avoid this hotel at all costs!!!

On face value this hotel was lovely.
We arrived a couple of hours before check in to be told our room was ready but would have to pay £40 to get into the room 2 hours early or we could pay £15 per bag if we wanted to leave them there whilst we went out. We opted for the early check in as we had been travelling from early and had an evening out planned. After about half an hour when reception were checking the room, we went to our room. The room was lovely with 6 double bunk beds, 2 balcony’s, 2 shower rooms and seemed to be clean. The room did lack tea or coffee making facilities or a TV but there was a fridge in the room to bring your own things in.
In our room there was a GHD hairbrush which we handed into reception, however, does question if the room was checked.
Despite the hotel being in a bustling location and the room overlooking a busy road the room was sound proof.
We did notice a room opposite ours which had wires trailing out of the room which attached were 2 boxes with temperature gauges showing in excess of 50 degrees. We asked a hotel worker what it was, however, they claimed they didn’t know.
Fast forward a 2 night stay and a member of our party started with itching, only to be diagnosed with bites from bed bugs.
Having looked at previous posts this seems to be very common for a lot people staying here.
2 weeks after checkout and the hotel have taken a further £500 off the card in which was used to book the hotel, with no explanation or prior warning. Have tried to contact the hotel with no luck. Luckily booking.com have listened and are trying to get this back from the hotel and have said they will refund within 5 days if nothing from the hotel. 🤞🏼

Stay away from here

Well some might say 1 star is unfair, however the only reason for one star is because of the location. The rooms are so bad family room was literally a slab of timber with x 3 single mattresses on the one board, so low down and so uncomfortable, felt like the slums! then please don't want an privacy whilst in the toilet which was all of 2ft sq! it is disgusting really every noise every smell floating out onto the horrible bed location ( o yes also the toilet screen is glass) yes so your can see as well as everything! the rooms have such bad lighting really bad, no windows keeping the lovely aroma of the toilet contained no seating area to put a bit of makeup on, no kettle for tea, more like a hostel, actually I would say that hostel would be better than this, there is no form of natural light at all! anywhere, just dark gloomy horrid place. they charged extra for us to get into the room a few hours early 60.00 pound of top of the 180.00 for one night then if you want them to keep you luggage its 15.00 pound per tiny case! the room has empty toilet roll holders in the tiny bathroom upon arrival and the tiles in the shower were filthy. would I stay here again, not a chance

Terrible experience.

What terrible is that because of how small the rooms are there is no place to put luggage. They charged more money for the luggage.
Good location but terrible hotel.

Avoid this 'hotel'

Avoid this 'hotel'
No furniture to put anything, our clothes and everything we had had to go on the floor, beds were a mattress on the floor toilet was a glass box on the middle of bedroom, a bucket in the hallway for water coming in the roof, 482 pound for 1 night for 4 people, absolutely crazy.

Overrun with Bed Bugs

Overrun with Bed Bugs at Zedwell Piccadilly
The Zedwell Piccadilly is infested with Bedbugs. There were 7 of us in a room and all came away with multiple bites. We noticed the bugs in the morning unfortunately and the infestation is completely out of control. The bugs are huge and there are loads of them. If you look at the reviews for this hotel people have been complaining about Bedbugs for months and yet the hotel keeps booking people into these infested rooms.
I am covered from head to toe with over 50 bites and have had to take time off work as a result.
When we spoke to the desk they did offer to steam our luggage so they are 'prepared' and know this is a problem.
When we arrived they said we had to wait 1 hour as our room was not clean, so the 3pm check in became 4.30pm check in. They put us in a tiny room so 7 of us could get ready, not ideal. They why we paid for the big room. Overall it's outrageous, unhygienic and completely infested. Stay elsewhere to literally save you skin!

No refunds!

We got a room with a broken air condition. It was so hot and no oxygen. We didn’t get a new room, so we slept with the door open! Was promised a refund, but got a mail today that we wont get it. This was in JULY! I’ve tried to contact them at least 25 times for all these months. Horrible service!

No frills hotel but plenty of space

This hotel was perfect for my night away for my recent birthday. I actually like the style of the hotel, basic room with a bed and a bathroom, it's what I needed for a night in London (just somewhere to rest my head). They would have gotten 5 stars if these two things hadn't happened.
First, whilst catching a nap just after checking in, house keeping let themselves into my room, they swiftly apologised and left, but why where they coming into my room after check in time if the room had been cleaned (which is had been!)
Secondly, shortly after midnight, just as I was about to drop off (I have insomnia so going to sleep takes me forever!) the fire alarm went off, went to reception to find that it was a false alarm and that it had been set off by someone having a shower! Understandably these things can't be helped, but if a hot shower is going to set off an alarm, surly something needs changing? I didn't sleep for the rest of that night because I was one, wide awake and two, worried that if another guest decided to have a late night shower would this happen again.

Other than those two issues, if you're looking for a place to rest your head for a night, then I'd recommend this place, it's close to everything! Having no windows didn't bother me as when I booked I expected no windows based on the word "pod" and I checked out the room facilities before I travelled and packed supplies because there's no kettle. Check in was easy enough too. Really liked the place, just not the issues!

Avoid bed bugs & zero customer service

Found bed bug while packing after an already uninspiring one night stay.
Videoed it and then squashed leaving in situ.
Reported to reception who said they would make the in house control team aware (must know already have a problem) who would review and get back to me by the end of the day, I would then be refunded for the cost of the system.
No phone call, called Duty Manager whose number I had been given and left a message, surprise surprise no return phone call.
Will now contact Head Office to see if they have a shred of customer service.

Zedwell Hotel Piccadilly Circus – APPALLING SERVICE– DO NOT BOOK IT

My advice would be to AVOID ZEDWELL HOTELS at all costs.

I booked a business trip with 2 x rooms for a business associate and myself on 11th June 2024. I was told I could check-in at any time – yet when I arrived I was told I could not. Eventually after a lot of ‘discussion’ with the reception staff I was allowed to book in – however my business associate was not allowed to check-in aand had to leave his suitcase in a safe place until we returned from one of our meetings and an evening event. This was mildly frustrating, but nothing compared to what happened next…

When we returned to Zedwell Hotel Piccadilly Circus at circa 11:30pm, all systems were down. The hotel could not issue room keys, the automatic check-in systems were down and the hotel reception staff could not tell who was in any of the rooms. The hotel lobby was overflowing with people and nobody could do anything to help. My business associate complained heavily as we had meetings early the next day and at 1am he was led around the hotel by hotel staff randomly checking in rooms to see if any were unoccupied. Some of the rooms they entered actually had people sleeping, or awake and alarmed at us entering their rooms !!!! this was embarrassing to say the least, and meant we did not get a room until 1:30am… the whole thing was an utter shambles, and unacceptable.

When we checked out the next morning, the lady on reception said we could get a full refund. Yet it is now 28th August 2024 and the hotel have still not even discussed the refund with me despite multiple attempts to contact them via email and through booking.com.

The only true thing about Zedwell Hotel Picadilly Circus, London is that it is a circus….

DO NOT STAY AT ZEDWELL HOTEL PICADILLY – IT IS A DISGRACE AND THE SERVICE IS APPAULING

This hotel has a major bed bug problem

This hotel has a major bed bug problem. AVOID! Woke up covered in bites only to then see the critters scurrying over my bed. Perhaps the thumping bass from the nightclub next door keeps them alert. No apology from management and no reimbursement. Appalling customer service.
