Best recipe box on the market - tasty and fresh
Ordered my first box last week and was more than impressed. Having been a customer of a few different recipe boxes I think this is comfortably the best. You can tell the meat and veg are of the highest quality and so fresh. The recipes are easy to follow and are tasty. After ordering a one off box I have cancelled subscriptions with Gusto and Hello Fresh and started one up with Yes Chef. Also had to email customer services (due to an error on my part) and they were ever so helpful! Can’t wait to try more of your recipes

Non existent customer service. I've had 2 deliveries and had issues with both with no response at all to my emails. Has put me off future deliveries.

Has potential
Good selection of recipes.
The directions require a check over, some have errors, wrong ingredients listed, I've also found the timings can be a bit off.
There's been a few occasions where ingredients didn't turn up.

Very impressed
I ordered a one off box and was very pleased. The box was delivered by DPD, my favourite courier, and was well packaged and insulated. Every ingredient was good quality and fresh. I froze the meat and defrosted on the day I was using it. I made the last recipe on the 7th day and the veg was still good to use so I was very impressed with the quality as often I buy veg myself that goes off after a couple of days. All the recipes I made were easy to follow and turned out really well and tasted nice. The only negative was the amount of plastic used. I had a cucumber in plastic wrap that was also sealed in a plastic bag.

Missing ingredients and recipe card
I had herbs missing and even a missing recipe card. They did email this and said sorry for missing ingredients. Could not open the recipe they sent as in a weird format. I was ready to cook when I discovered this so could not wait for customer services to resolve so just made a curry out of the minced lamb. To be honest I really was not impressed, others in the market place are much slicker and also apologise with some form of credit. Will not use again as just too inconvenient with issues encountered.

My box was cancelled, apparently by me! My refund didn't arrive, I emailed,after a wait for a reply my refund was made, however it is being hel by PayPal,I have no idea why,as never had a problem before,now Yes Chef won't reply! Very,very poor customer service.

Poor value for money even with the…
Poor value for money even with the discount barely enough meat for 2 never mind 3! Some recipes were vague e.g no temperature setting for the oven. Labelling on food items had no quantity or use by dates and 1 didn’t even say what it was! Far too much plastic. No where near as good as other food box companies. Very disappointed.

This is the first complaint we have had saying there was not enough food, this is a shock because our usual feedback is that portions are generous , if not too large? It would be good to know which recipe you experienced this with so we can investigate it further? We have recently invested in new labelling technology and use by dates will be printed on our perishable products imminently. We are also investigating biodegradable packaging solutions

Good delivery, poor recipes
Good delivery and food items.
Recipes aren't great though and use a lot of the same ingredients. Portion sizes are all over the place some meals could feed a family where others are like a starter.
There is a lot of packaging I am unable to recycle also.

Great tasty meals with lots of flavour
Tried out a box of 4 different meals and was really impressed. All the ingredients were complete, very fresh and tasty. Recipes were ready to follow and each portion was very generous! We even had a little left over. My only slight criticism would be that there was a lot of non-reusable packaging, sometimes where thin plastic was used, thicker recyclable plastic or paper etc might be better used instead?
