YS PRO, 2023:
a lot of issues until online
took me several mails until replies received
updating process took more than 3 (!) weeks
very delayed indications off boat data, sometimes boat position is updated several hours later... so this is useless in terms of anchor watch.
very expensive subscription

My YSPro had weird problem with voltage detector and battery backup unit

I am new owner of a YSPro unit. After installation I noticed weird problems with the voltage connector feature. Support quickly isolated and fixed the issue. Honestly they're reactive. Next, I have had a phone call with the team when the internal battery backup unit failed to charge correctly. As a result the unit was very quickly send over to factory for a battery replacement. This was achieved within a couple a days ... free of charge. Given the fact I'am a new customer I would say my experience with support and solution being good.

Total waste of money Asked for a refund…

Total waste of money Asked for a refund twice with no response for the following reasons.
1.The router didn’t work so had to be returned. I purchased an alternative online for less than half the price which worked very well.
2. The motion sensor kept sending false alerts where ever I placed it and with no ability to change the sensitivity it was useless and had to be disconnected. Also with a movement sensor on the camera which works well what’s the point of having a separate one?
3. The magnet of the hatch sensor kept falling off as the sticky tape is not the right design for a marine environment. The first magnet was missing from the product, you provided a new one which now lives somewhere in the bilge of the boat. The hatch sensor has now been disabled so also useless.
4. The camera, although good is available online for exactly one fifth of the price. Which just makes me feel ripped off. Also there are plenty of similar and better cameras available without having to pay 70 euros per year for online images, not to mention the 50 euros for the useless YS6!
5. Most of the time the YSPro App crashes as soon as I select the camera live feed. It works fine when restarted but this is just annoying and I would expect better from a premium product. Also, the YS Hub App doesn’t show camera images at all.
I think they have a new product out now and hopefully that works better.

Problem and partial solution

So editing 14/5/22 at request of yacht s. I did get hold of them that day- company has been bought by French outfit- the guy helped my marine electrician over a couple of days (via phone support) get the main box working and monitoring posistion voltage and shore power connection. BUT the wireless bilge monitors although working do not have anything like the range for the 5 bilges in a 74 foot motor yacht so in my view suitable for much smaller vessel only. Much effort expended on second visit to boat in France moving central aeriel to v centre of boat using external aeriel kit etc to no avail. Company after a prod did return money for sensors and i have kept the rest of the kit as what it does monitor is of some use. Shame system can`t accept input from my hard wired 5x bilge monitors ( or i could even work with one input/ alarm) but it only works with the wireless one from y sentinel. System would prob be ok for a 40 foot sailboat or similar. Overall wish i had bought different system but would need to find one with wired bilge sensors as wireless useless for my application. Upgraded to 3 stars (just).

I purchased their YS6 and dometics box

I purchased their YS6 and dometics box. When installing the systems I had a few questions and phoned for support. The support they gave was probably the best I've encountered - it's a very simple system to install, but even so the guy gave me lots of time with him on the phone to talk me through all my questions - all sorted quickly and the system works perfectly. Highly recommended.

SP2 - nice little tracker

As advertised SP2 is almost plug and play. Sales team is also very helpful in case you run into some issues nevertheless. Decent app and alarms are easy to set up.

Sunseeker Yacht 80

If you own a boat or even look after boats yacht Sentinal is a must have. What a fantastic bit of kit how often have you arrived at your boat to find the shore power off and so the dehumidifiers haven’t been on the batteries are flat and there is condensation everywhere even mould if it’s been a long time since you were on board. In the past all these things have happened to me but not since I’ve had Yacht Sentinel I have had a Yacht Sentinel for some 10 years now and what a comforting feeling it is to know that if water gets in your bilges somebody opens your hatch with or without your permission or your shore power goes off you will receive a text message. Just recently my Yacht Sentinel stopped working so when I return to England from Minorca I brought it with me got in touch with Nino who put me in touch with Avinash who asked me to return the unit to him. He then reinstalled the software making the unit fully operational and returned it to me free of charge. What fantastic service how could you expect that after owning the unit for six years thank you very much Nino and Avi.

Excellent boat monitoring

Unit is easy to set up and I like the fact that the sensors are wireless — competitor’s sensors are wired which is more difficult to position. Customer support is very helpful. They were even willing to get on the phone with me in (their) evening since I’m on the US West Coast.

Indispensable equipment for a Yacht !

We are using YS6 for various boats, it is a reliable product which becomes more and more esential for every boats. Indeed, you can check at any time the most important data like the tension of the batteries, the current position of the boat and the possible alerts. But if you don't check by yourself, you receive an alert message on your phone.
Thus, a very helpful equipment for a careful owner with a reasonable cost and easy to install !!

Very Happy Customers

We have installed Yacht Sentinal 6 into a few boats in Hong Kong and the owners are more than satisfied with the setup. They can now monitor their boats remotely while accessing data that was previously unavailable without a lot of effort. The simple instalation makes it even better.

We have installed the YS6 on 20-30…

We have installed the YS6 on 20-30 Boats in the German market. The wireless installation can be carried out by anyone (thanks to a logical manual). Like the manual, the App is logical and many settings can be changed. The team at YS are open to feedback and have been able to make changes to the software with a simple automatic software update. We heard rumours of new interesting products to be released this year ;-)

Unit does all it says it will do

Unit does all it says it will do. Relatively easy to install (with practice the install is like pairing your smart phone to your car system), Information is concise and easy to understand. Installation manual and user manual are a big help.

Extremely easy to install and use, even from another country. Peace of mind and instant access to your yacht's stats. Voltage, temperature, bilge, shock, doors and hatches, weather and location all from the app or online.

An excellent system and product

An excellent system and product. Backed up by 1st hand technical support from design engineers. We have this installed on 3 of our client vessels. The clients love the share app facility too.
