This is the worse rental agency I’ve ever dealt with, they’re lazy, unprofessional, and somewhat rude! They lie and almost make you purchase insurance, they even have virtual agents who are not even on site!! Then the hidden fees are ridiculous
Warning!!!⚠️
Warning: Zezgo is a dishonest company. They took my money and refused to return it. Be extremely careful.
We rented a car from Zezgo Car Rental in Orlando for a few days, and it was a very bad experience from start to finish.
The cars are very old and clearly not well maintained.
We were charged hidden fees at the office, after arrival, when we had no other realistic option.
The worst part: they kept our money.
They took a $1,000 deposit and told us it would be refunded within 5 days after returning the car. That never happened. The money was not refunded at all.
We had to file a bank chargeback to get our deposit back.
This experience was stressful, disappointing, and completely unprofessional.
Never rent a car from this company. I would not recommend Zezgo to anyone.
Refund regret
After we returned the car full of gas and in the same condition in which it was received, we were told our deposit of $250.00 would be returned within a week or two. The contract said they had up to 30 days. It has been almost 60 days and no refund. I have contacted them several times and the ask for identification numbers that are not on the contract or in any email correspondence. Still trying.
I would give 0 stars if I could...
$1000 hold on a credit card when I have full coverage insurance and coverage through the credit card I am renting with is beyond ridiculous. The cost to waive it was cheaper than adding my wife as a licensed driver so we could put it on her card. This tacked on $100 for the waiver and then I had to pay another $111 dollars for a Sunpass for what was probably going to be $10 in tolls for the whole week or $25 for each toll that was passed through. Could not use our own Sunpass. Both together was $225 in extra fees after taxes and processing (who are you, Ticketmaster?) that were tacked on and were downright criminal. Bait and switch tactics that had me at a disadvantage since I was pretty much stuck at the rental location at that point. If the "advanced" check in was the e-mail that was received it is extremely suspicious and there is no way I would give the info required for that over the internet. If it's the booth in the location, where I was basically in a Zoom callm well that was downright horrible. Hard to to hear the agent and he was extremely abrasive. The booth was stuffy and hot, not even a fan. I was not shown to my vehicle, nor did anyone go over it with me to review the condition. I have the car fully photographed and video recording as well. I had to click the fob until I located the car. I even had to help the elderly couple who rode in the shuttle with us to get their key and find their car (by clicking the fob also.) The car was filthy. There was stuff all over the roof of the car, the driver's side floorboard was dirty and muddy. The interior windshield was filthy making it almost impossible to drive at night. The windshield wipers were terrible. I almost broke down and bought new ones so I could drive home the one night it rained while we were there, but I knew I wouldn't get reimbursed. Android Auto was disabled on the vehicle so I could not navigate using the dashboard display. I'm sure this was something they tried to upsell me on, but I declined. I could have rented a car from Dollar, Thrifty, or Enterprise actually AT the airport for what I was charged after the surprise fees. Also, the car would shudder and shake at stoplights. I made the receiving attendant, who was the only positive of the rental process, aware of this when I dropped the vehicle off. It was probably ignored.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
On March 25, 2026, we rented a car through Expedia. The total price for the week was supposed to be $274. However, when we arrived to pick up the vehicle, we were told we had to pay a $1,000 security deposit, which was completely unexpected.
What made the situation even more concerning was that deposits seemed to vary randomly. Another couple there was only required to pay a $500 deposit, while a young woman at the counter was told she needed to pay $2,000. There did not appear to be any clear explanation for the differences.
In addition, we were charged over $100 for prepaid tolls, which we would not have come close to using during our trip.
We have rented cars many times and have never experienced deposits this high or inconsistent policies like this. Several other customers at the location also expressed similar frustrations while we were there.
Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to be cautious before renting from this location and to carefully review all fees and deposit requirements in advance.
Did not provide promised vehicle
Booked the car through Orbitz. They stated that we would be receiving a Toyota Yaris or something similar. When we got to ZezGo the agent told us no, that we would be getting a Chevy Spark. He said Yaris was not available in Florida because they are not made in the US! What a load of crap! My wife and I purchased a Yaris in Orlando in 2008 as a second car and I had at least two employees who drove a Yaris. I said OK then how about something similar as promised. Nope. We got a Nissan Sentra which we had to pay EXTRA for and which proceeded to break down on the second to last day of the rental period. When we contacted them they told us to bring the car back for an exchange (the car was not running therefore completely unable to be returned) then we were told to make the necessary repairs and we would be reimbursed the following day at the end of our rental period. Three months later and I am still battling with these rip off artists. I send numerous emails about one in 20 of which are responded to with a lot of double talk and lack of responsibility on their part. STAY AWAY from ZezGo
SCAM
This company is a complete scam and Expedia should be ashamed of themselves for sending their customers to this place. I booked my trip to Florida through Expedia and bundled the flight, airfare, and rental car. When I arrived at airport I had to take a shuttle to an offsite rental company. (Which is fine) I arrive and wait for about 15 mins in line while the people ahead of me check in and they look MAD. I’m about to find out why, it’s finally my turn I give them my license and my insurance policy. (my husbands an insurance agent we have plenty of coverage) They tell me that we don’t have enough coverage and to rent the car we need to purchase their insurance house insurance. $850 for TWO DAYS! I said absolutely not and left. As I was leaving I met with a family outside returning the car who said the same thing happened to them but they paid it because they didn’t know what else to do. It’s a complete scam and I feel so bad for all the family’s taking their trips and getting there and this happening. Every person ahead of me and every person I arrived with apparently didn’t have enough coverage so it seems that no one ever will have enough and will always be forced to buy their in house policy! Save yourself the headache
staying away
i must say all the negative reviews definitely made me deicide where NOT to rent a car ill stay away thank you everyone. customer service is very important.
Worst car rental company ever
Worst car rental company ever. I booked through expedia, and when i showed up, they said that they will only accept insurance from 4 companies, if you dont have one of those, then they charge you a high fee, it was like 125 a day for insurance. i left without a car and had to uber to my hotel. and this was after waiting on them at the airport for over an hour
Nearly $2,000 Charged After Return With…
Nearly $2,000 Charged After Return With No Proof & No Supervisor Access
I rented a vehicle from Zezgo Orlando and returned it on February 9, 2026 at 8:15 AM. The vehicle was inspected at drop-off. No damage was reported to me, and I was not asked to sign any damage acknowledgment form.
Four days later, on February 13, 2026, Zezgo charged my card $1,686.88 — almost $2,000 — without prior written notice, documentation, or explanation.
When I called, I was told the charge was for windshield damage and tolls. I was further told the alleged incident occurred on February 12 — three days AFTER the vehicle had already been returned and was no longer in my possession.
This makes no sense.
We did not go through any toll violations, accidents, towing, or incidents during the rental. I have clear photos of the vehicle taken at return, and the windshield was not damaged.
I have called repeatedly all day trying to resolve this directly. Each representative told me they “cannot help” and that I must email. I requested to speak to a supervisor and was not allowed to escalate the issue. I was denied access to anyone with authority to resolve the matter.
I immediately emailed and provided my return photos. Despite that, Zezgo has not provided:
Dated, time-stamped photos of the alleged windshield damage
A return inspection report
A signed damage acknowledgment form
An itemized repair invoice
Toll documentation showing dates and locations
A breakdown explaining how $1,686.88 was calculated
Additionally, my $250 security deposit has not been returned.
Being charged nearly $2,000 days after returning a vehicle, without documentation, without notice, and without access to a supervisor is extremely concerning. The lack of transparency and refusal to properly address the issue forced me to dispute the charge with my bank.
If you rent from this company:
• Take detailed photos and video at pickup and drop-off
• Get written confirmation of return condition
• Monitor your bank account after returning the vehicle
I hope this is corrected, but based on my experience, proceed with caution.
If I could give them zero stars I…
If I could give them zero stars I would. Client had a reservation to pick up 2/12. Their flight was delayed and ultimately cancelled. This was booked through Expedia. I contacted Expedia, who contacted Zezgo, and we were ASSURED they were holding the vehicle and the client could pick it up 2/13. When the client arrived, there was no vehicle for them. They were told there was ONE vehicle and it was an SUV upgrade for $160/day totaling $960. The grand total was $1,221.98. FOR A VEHICLE THAT WAS ALREADY RESERVED AND PAID FOR! They prey on people and they lie. Highway robbery, a crime and grand larceny in Florida. This company needs to be put out of business.
Worst service
Worst service, the person on the counter was very rude and misleading.
ZEZGO RENT A CAR IN ORLANDO, FL.
I had a rental car pick-up in Orlando. You have to call for a ride to get to the rental site, which was not explained at the time of rental. I got to the rental site, stood in line for over two hours. The clerk was so rude and obnoxious. He tried to force their insurance, and when I declined, he was ruder!!! I used my Allstate ins. and I had a Platinum Amex card with ensures the car as well. He also said, I need to put a $1000.00 hold on my credit card to rent the car, even after he had taken all of my insurance information. Then he said I have to pay $20.00 for the shuttle ride from airport to pick-up the rental car. When he got done adding all these extra services and charges it took my bill up an additional $200.00 plus dollars. I showed him my payment summary and said, that don't matter. This is what you have to pay or I'm not renting you a car. It was 10:30 pm and he did not rent me a car because I wouldn't let him overcharge me. DO NOT EVER GO TO THAT ORLANDO LOCATION TO ZEZGO RENT A CAR IT'S A SCAM!!!!! This just happen in Jan. 2026!!!!!
Bad and dishonest service
If I could give this company a 0 star or .5 star I would. We reserved and paid for a vehicle to rent when we got to Tampa area through Expedia at Zezgo, Tampa Bay location. What are you thinking Expedia! We upgraded to a jeep, then the trouble started. The lady at the desk asked us what type of toll pass option we wanted, then we told her where we were going (Anna Maria Island) and she said that there were a lot of hidden toll fees, but to watch for the signs. I asked again, what would you suggest then she said to go with the $9.99 or $19.99/day option if we're not for sure. So being from out of town, not wanting to get caught in fees, we went with the top option.
THEN, we were required to show proof of car insurance, the employee then said that our insurance company wasn't recognized and had to pay $59.99/day (total: 239.96). Another customer we talked to said they had All-State and that wasn't recognized. Really?
We ended up leaving with the vehicle to Anna Maria Island, we watched for toll signs. We ran into 1, 1 toll to go over the bridge connecting St. Petersburg to Anna Maria, cost $1.75. We saw a .50 cent toll to use the Sun Pass, which was optional and we didn't use it. So total cost to our destination, $1.75. We used the same route back, same cost, $1.75.
When we returned the vehicle in PERFECT condition and gased up per their requirements, I went in and told the guy at the desk what our situation was and that we only spent 3.50 in tolls, he said that there were hidden toll cost and it'd be 2 hours to get the updated tolls. I asked him, so we can't get a refund based on their suggestion and we only spent $3.50 on tolls and he said you signed the contract. So Zezgo made $79.93 (toll fee) + $239.96 (insurance) - $3.50 (our total tolls) = $316.39 extra on us. No customer service given, just wanting the money. We were talking to other customers outside the location about all of our terrible service and undercovered costs, and an employee from inside, who was watching the video cameras, came out quickly, and escorted us to the airport, so no more negative comments were made.
Our suggestion...use the National car rentals in the future is my suggestion. Better customer service, you know the upfront costs, no insurance pressure, and toll suggestions are clear and straight forward.
We're going for an overseas resort trip in the summer and Zezgo is a listed rental company. No go to Zezgo. It's a POS company. We learned a very important lesson on this trip. Again....EXPEDIA drop these guys! Cheap, but crap.
I was over charged and I received no refund whatsoever
I had a terrible experience with them. I waited to get picked up from Orlando airport for over 1 hour…. When I finally went to picked up the car… they sad i couldn’t use my personal card and had me paid $302.26 so I can get the rental….at this point I had no choice. My deposit was supposed to be refunded back to me instead ….they took an additional $88… I called them so i can have a better understanding of why was I charged so much instead the lady hung up on me… I called again I spoke to another person for 5 minutes then got hung up again. Now I’m almost $400 short and have nobody to help me…. Those people are so unprofessional, rude and have no lack of customer service….. I will never do service them anymore
I was forced to pay for insurance when…
I was forced to pay for insurance when I have my own. The car deposit was $1,000. They charged $20 a day to use a debit card when they ran it as credit anyways. Horrible experience. The agent on zoom was rude.
Huge scam
Huge scam. They try to pick you up from the airport as late as possible so they can cancel your reservation, they take the money anyways. If you’ve heard of zezgo you’ve already been scammed.
Avoid this company at all costs
I had an extremely disappointing and unfair experience with Zezgo at Orlando Airport. I rented two cars, and both rentals followed the same misleading and abusive pattern.
The reservation was made online, and the mandatory insurance was already added and paid for during the booking process. There was absolutely no need for any additional insurance at the counter.
At pickup, the employee spoke very fast, in Spanish, and did not explain the charges clearly or transparently. We were first asked to authorize a USD 220 security deposit, which we understood and accepted. Immediately after that, we were asked to insert the card again to charge USD 465, which the employee claimed was related only to SunPass tolls, with the promise that any unused amount would be refunded.
This was not true.
When returning the cars, we discovered that the entire USD 465 was charged, including:
Toll charges not proportional to actual usage
Additional insurance coverage, even though the mandatory insurance had already been included in the online reservation
At no point did the employee clearly explain that this amount included extra insurance, nor did he ask for our consent to add it. This is a clear case of misleading information and bad faith.
Our original rental price was USD 305, and at pickup we were forced into an additional USD 465 charge, which is unacceptable.
It was also evident that the same employee was using this approach with other confused tourists, who were signing documents without fully understanding what they were being charged for.
After returning the vehicles, Zezgo provides no response, no explanation, and no refund.
My advice: DO NOT RENT FROM ZEZGO.
This company takes advantage of tourists through lack of transparency and deceptive practices.
If I could give them a zero I would!!!
If I could give them a zero I would!!!! I booked through Expedia (paid in full through Expedia) thinking they wld not be doing business with a scam rip off company !!! WRONG !!!! I read all the fine prints as this is not my first time renting I brought a copy of my insurance card as they say they accept your personal insurance LIE ONE they added toll charges for incase you go through tolls I showed them my route has zero toll roads I was then told I had to pay all the fees of 406 dollars plus a 250 dollar deposit on top of the 350 I already paid through Expedia I was getting upset and was told the only other way I could get the car was to pay 1500!!!!!! It was late and I finally just paid the 406 and 250 and figured when I got home I wld dispute it then I contacted Expedia and the reply was I NEVER PRESENTED MY INSURANCE ANS THESE ARW OPTIONS I CLD HAVE DECLINED AND SINCE THE CAR WAS RETURNED ALL SALES ARE FINAL .... HORRIBLE!!
HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! We rented through Expedia. Waited over an hour for transport from the airport. Were charged almost $200 more when we got there, then another $100 for cleaning fee, the car was clean when returned!! Very unprofessional & looks like a "pop up" shady business!!
