AVOID ZEZGO

AVOID ZEZGO! We were unfortunate to book a car rental in Tampa, Florida with Zezgo as part of a package via Expedia. This Zezgo is inconveniently located 6+ miles from the airport…so be prepared to take a cab to the Zezgo Tampa office!

Even though we provided a copy of the comprehensive collision coverage from our auto insurance company, the Zezgo representative said they REQUIRE $350 for additional insurance! The rep was very unprofessional. For every rental, ZEZGO demands that each customer pay this fee which insures their rental vehicle for $500,000 in liability.

Since it was a Saturday/holiday weekend and the other area rental car businesses had already closed, we had no options.

After we returned the rental car, a Zezgo shuttle took us back to the airport. The driver was impatient and rude, slamming the van doors behind us.

This business is completely unethical and shady. They partner with Expedia to scam tourists. Also, their rental car inventory appears to be EXTREMELY limited. Beware.

Predatory company

Reserved a car from Zezgo thru a package deal on Expedia. They usually show the logo of the carrier next to the price and type of the car. This time Expedia was only showing the price and type of car. I didnt see who the carrier was. I booked the package and later saw the carrier was Zezgo, a company I never heard of. At the airport we found out the carrier was offsite so we took the shuttle bus to the carrier. At the carrier we were quickly told our insurance was not acceptable and we would have to buy insurance for an extra $140. Other people in line were being told to pay $200-300 and some were told their insurance was good but there would be a $1000 hold on their credit card. I called Expedia and asked to be booked with another rental carrier but they refused and instead offered me $70 for my troubles (which I never got). Zezgo was banking on me giving in being I was stranded out of town, away from the airport with my wife, son and luggage.. I did not take the bait, I tipped the shuttle driver to take me back to the airport and booked with Enterprise, who had a car available. This company is predatory and should not be patronized. Expedia should sever ties with them as it is not in their best interests to screw their own customers like that

Scammers

Scammers! Unreliable, Horrible customer service, hidden charges and fees designed to scam people. They take advantage of bookings through Expedia that selects default drop off timings and even though you pay for the entire day, they will sneak in additional charges to charge you twice for same day the car gets dropped off. Beware of their hidden charges!!!

Zezgo car rental in Ft Lauderdale…

Zezgo car rental in Ft Lauderdale Florida is a scam company. I would give them negative stars if I could. Don’t let the 1 star fool you. I highly recommend avoiding them and just going with a reputable company like enterprise or hertz. For starters, I booked a vehicle on expedia which zezgo advertised vehicle rentals at a low cost. My total rental was roughly 100 dollars and paid in full at the time I booked. When I arrived in Florida the girl at the desk said they do not honor anything from expedia. So they falsely advertise on Expedia just to get you in their store. Then I ended up paying almost 300 dollars for the rental and a 1000 dollar deposit. When I returned the car they accused me of scratching the car and that I would not be getting my 1000 dollar deposit back. I absolutely did not scratch their car and they have no proof that I did. This is a dishonest company with terrible customer service. Scam, fraud, do not use this company!

Absolute scam

Absolute scam! We thought we got a great deal with the flight/car bundle. Only $40 more. Well of course it is. First, it’s not at the airport, so you wait forever for a shuttle bus. Then, they need your insurance declaration page. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. Then you need $500k liability coverage which nobody has. So they try to make you pay $500 for their coverage. We said no thanks and left. Total scam! Tampa location.

Super sketchy business...

I recently rented a vehicle from this company and had a very disappointing experience. Although I prepaid using a rewards card and expected some additional fees, I was blindsided by an extremely high insurance charge that had not been made clear during booking. I was told this information was “in the disclosure,” but the cost was far beyond anything I’ve encountered with other rental companies, where my personal or credit card insurance has always been accepted without issue.
The insurance fee alone was nearly the cost of another full rental. After a long day of travel with my children, I felt pressured to proceed rather than attempt to find another company.
Several other concerns stood out:
- The shuttle to their offsite location was in poor condition.
- Customer service was unfriendly and unhelpful.
- Phone numbers and website links led nowhere, making the company difficult to contact.
- The facility itself felt run-down and unprofessional.
- The vehicle had low tire pressure on all four tires, and the fuel tank was not full despite being told to return it full.
While the car itself functioned fine, the overall experience felt misleading and poorly managed. I would not rent from this company again.

I only wish I had come across the many other negative reviews beforehand. My rental was at their Tampa Bay, Florida location which isn't even on the list here.

ZEZGO is a scam

Do not trust this company. Conveniently, when you call their number, no one is available, and when instructed to leave a message, the voicemail is full. Definitely the intention is NOT to NOT TAKE ANY CALLERS.

$515.92 charge for insurance even though we had stacked coverage for way over what they said we needed with State Farm. This is a rip off and they get you away from the airport with no car rental places near by! Avoid, do not rent from them!!!

I was supposedly supposed to get 100 dollars of that back and am currently working to dispute these charges with my credit card company and Expedia. This is absolutely criminal!

Premeditated customer scam

I prepaid for a 10-day rental thru Expedia. After a 2 hour wait to be picked up from the airport, I was anxious to get my vehicle and be on my way - I was late for an appointment. I provided my proof of insurance at check-in but was told there was a problem. The rep said I needed a minimum of $500k coverage to rent the vehicle and it was in the contract. The contract stated I needed to 'provide proof of insurance and there may be local requirements'. I didn't see the problem because my policy has more than enough coverage to meet their requirement. After a minute or two the rep responded that 'it doesn't matter how much coverage I have if I wanted to rent the car the additional charge would be almost $700'. The location is offsite from the airport and there were no other cars available to rent from other companies - plus I had already prepaid for the rental. I told them I would take the car but fight the additional charges. I fully intend to report the incident to the BBB. Be very careful in dealing with this organization and their unethical behavior.

Please don't rent from this company

Please don't rent from this company. They charge a US$1,000 deposit regardless if you have a credit card or not. They will return that money back after 6 to 10 days.
The "girl" at the counter (she was probably 15 or less), was so rude and disrespectful. With a huge attitude and she would not look at us when we were asking her different questions about the rental we had paid for through Expedia. She sat there like a Parrot repeating over and over the same thing, "you should of read through our website before coming here to rent a car", scrolling through her computer and not even looking at us.
We had a really bad experience with this company. We ended up not renting from them and we went to Hertz. I stil don't get my money back. Thankfully at Hertz they know what they are doing and have qualified people to help their clients.

Bait and switch are only option

Bait and switch are only option; Fine print is not available until you arrive at your remote location for the vehicle.
Shuttle service was not present, and I had to call, eventually they arrived and took us offsite to an obscure site that was transient in nature. I had to find my way around inside the building and arrived at a back office with a counter and everything else blocked off with partitions.
I noticed a photocopy paper sign on the counter with insurance requirements that were odd at best. When I addressed them with the person who showed up at the counter, they said it may be a typo. In either case they asked to see my declaration page of my insurance which I showed them on my mobile phone. They asked me to look at my phone so they could verify the policy to which I agreed. They then using my phone, entered something into their computer and said I owed them another $290 for one fee and another $12 for another fee.
I left and called for an Uber.

Unfortunately I can't give "0" stars - Hidden fee's

Unfortunately I can't give "0" stars. When we landed at Tampa International, it took well over an hour for a shuttle to pick us up along with many other customers waiting for them as well as they indicated they would. It didn't match the description as indicated by them in Expedia as a "black shuttle". The shuttle actually was a white one with their name on a magnet sign on the side of the van.

Once we completed the 15 minute drive the location looked like a towing yard! There was at least 2 if not 3 other rental car businesses within the same building.

We got out of the shuttle and went into a multi room building and there was another rider asking what are these fees for?? The customer turned around and told us they are charging extra for tolls and much more. We finally get to the counter and we are told we need to pay an extra $600+ for a $600k liability insurance package plus purchasing even after giving them my USAA insurance information. Also keep in mind I paid for additional insurance through Expedia and also have my own auto insurance. I immediately asked for a refund in which they couldn’t do and told me to contact Expedia. I called Expedia and explained what happened and they happily refunded me. DO NOT RENT FROM ZezGo. We went to Enterprise. The Location in reference was the Tampa Bay FL location.

DO NOT RENT EVER FROM HERE!!!!

DO NOT RENT EVER FROM HERE!!!!! 0 stars. Absolutely rude and disgusting staff. Demanding I pay $2000 for security deposit plus demanding I pay their insurance (even though I had my own policy) or they won't rent. They told me they "ran my policy number" and said my coverage is missing a lot of things so I would have to pay theirs. I never gave them my policy # so when I asked them what policy number they ran he said "oh I just had it here I must've lost it" then I said ok I'll wait until you find it. Then said was it 1122? LMAO absolute jokes. Not to mention no one physically works there, you have to talk to someone through a virtual TV so when I asked if he could clarify or email me the company's policy since they were demanding so much money, he said "ok clearly you don't want a car, I'm canceling your reservation" and hung up on me LOL. Idk how they're a business. Everyone on my shuttle dealt with the same thing and all walked out without a car. No one wanted to rent with them or trust them with their credit card. Everyone ended up back at the airport to rent from another company.

SCAM - DO NOT USE!! We ended up with Zenzgo from a booking with Expedia. Us, along with 6 other families coming from Tampa Airport, could NOT get a car. Extremely Poor Customer Service

I did not have my personal insurance policy number available at the time of rental on a Saturday evening. (I have rented vehicles in the past from several different companies and was never asked to provide a policy number.) I told the rental agent that I could provide the number on Monday once I contacted my insurance company but he said no. I suggested several reasonable alternatives to the rental agent which were all unacceptable to him. He would not let me have the vehicle unless I paid for additional insurance. When I asked about canceling the reservation, he told me there would be no refund. The rental agent was rude and extremely unhelpful. When I contacted the main office after returning home, I was also denied any type of refund. In my opinion, this company does not care about the customer and is more concerned about making money as evidenced by their overly strict policies. I do not recommend using this company; there are many other rental car companies with whom I've done business and have been very pleased with the service provided. I was also surprised at being charged a $1,000 deposit! If enough people boycott Zezgo car rentals, maybe they will get the message that they need to seriously improve their customer service and make their policies more user friendly.
