I love my ZEISS spectacle lenses
I love my ZEISS spectacle lenses. It is comfortable on my eyes and looks great too - no bad reflections.
Absolutely amazing products and…
Absolutely amazing products and services.
Smeary lenses.
I fell for the Zeiss advertising and paid €900+ for two pairs of varifocal glasses. I returned them as I could not see clearly with them. They were replaced after a week and seemed somewhat better. However I find them very smeary which means that against the sunlight it is difficult to see.
As for reading in my smartphone I find my old glasses non Zeiss better.
I don’t see any point in returning again as I believe that is the way Zeiss glasses are.
I do clean all the time but still smeary.
I purchased a ZEISS Secacam 7 trail camera
I purchased a Secacam 7 trail camera, the camera it’s self was good quality however despite the pretty (and misleading) picture on the box apparently it’s going to cost me between 10 and 20 pounds a month to get the captured images to my phone! It’s a subscription based scam, imaging paying that to see what’s on your doorbell or the camera looking at your dog sleeping all day! Even if you put in your own SIM card it won’t work because of their proprietary system. I thought I’d try paying for a “service plan” just to get this one project done but the website would not let me buy one, I did contact customer *help* in Germany and the UK but got no help whatsoever and was told to send an email in which I did but still got no response, now given that all I’m trying to do here is grudgingly give them money at what point do you put this thing back in the box and return it as not fit for purpose?

False claims regarding their eyecare…
False claims regarding their eyecare coatings. False promises regarding their 12 months satisfactory warrantee. Zero customer support. Tried to reach out multiple times, never got a single reply. People in the physical store weren't helpful, neither. Dinosaur company with insane profit margins, and zero customer care. Hope there will be more DTC brands in the future to leave this legacy company in the past.
I have had two sets of progressive…
I have had two sets of progressive glasses. One sun glasses and second one normal.
Problem with sun glasses with all coating and protection options offered cost fortune. My sunglasses lenses both at the eight corners after were sticky so went to local optician in Nairobi. Optician who may have no knowledge to handle them but outcome is the lenses turned opaque. I only use sun glasses accumulated usage 3 months. Traveled to Kenya 3 years. My sun glasses are 3 years 7 months old.
I reported to the Zeiss HQ as I find this is a product defect. They need to follow up the production process in supply chain. No response from them I’m afraid.
Check carefully before you make decision to buy sunglasses because a ROI for 3-4 years for custom specifications progressive and configured with all options and protection is inflated price if €1200. Is this investment worth while and justified.?
Zeiss. One of the finest optical manufacturers in the world. Also, one of the worst customer care policy in the world. …
Having been a Zeiss customer for almost 30 years, I recently placed an order for a pair of Victory SF binoculars, priced at just under £2,000. I was told they would be in within a week or two. Four weeks later I chased the order. It turned out Zeiss hadn’t sent them out. I was promised that they had been dispatched and would arrive in a few days. Three weeks later I chased them again, only to be told they were out of stock and I would have to wait two months for them. And, by the way, the price has increased by £400. I immediately cancelled the order, and sent an email to the CEO of Zeiss UK, copying in the CEO of Zeiss in Germany.
I received a response after a few days, apologising and promising me I would have the binoculars soon, but would still have to pay the increased price, not the price when I ordered them. The CEO had obviously not read my email, particularly the point where I stated I’d cancelled them.
Poor service, don’t care attitude and very poor customer relations from one of the very best optical manufacturers in the world. I expected much, much better. I won’t buy Zeiss again.
Don't expect them to honor a lifetime…
Don't expect them to honor a lifetime warranty. My binoculars fogged up and they called it mold. The would not fix them and offer a $250 credit towards a exchange for a $800 pair.
I bought a Vortex instead that has a good warrantee.
First glasses I bought from Zeiss were…
First glasses I bought from Zeiss were totally amazing.
When I changed the lenses after a year at a highly inflated cost I could not use them they were so bad,
Took them back several times, even mailed Zeiss direct but no response. So I have glasses I can not use that cost nearly 800 euros (lenses only!)
Shockingly bad customer service.
New lenses for Zeiss Lindberg glasses, joints failed after a few months.
I purchased Lindberg spirit titanium glasses with Zeiss lenses. After a year the joints started coming apart. I assumed this was because I wore them ice skating, and my sweat dissolved the glue. The joints are where the temples (side arms) and nose bridge are inserted into holes in the lenses. After two years I had new Zeiss lenses with an updated prescription fitted. I took care not to use them when sweating. After two months I noticed that two joints were loose. I waited a few months for lockdown to end, took them to my optician, who did a bad job of gluing one joint, and leaving the other. The assistant clearly had not passed on that two joints had failed. The glued joint looked like a home bodge. I was not happy, and made it clear that they should be sent back to Zeiss to be redone properly. The optician employee agreed. I paid £250 for new lenses, far more than many people pay for frames and lenses, and they can’t even glue the joints properly. For sure the Lindberg mounting system is unusual, but we are talking Zeiss here, not some unknown outfit, and they should know how to glue the joints. For reference, I had my spare rimless (Silhouette style) reglazed online for £75 with AR and hard coatings and the clarity is indistinguishable. I have left my glasses with the optician and will see what Zeiss do. At this point I would not use Zeiss again.
