Fantastic job @ our school!

Fantastic experience in getting our PC's installed at my school, they were really understanding of the complex needs of our pupils and worked really closely with us to minimise disruption. They took care of every tiny detail and were always available to take a call to help out post install as well. Lovely staff who were very kind and easy to work with. Overall excellent experience, competitive price and we were all really pleased with the final work. Would use again and recommend to other school's looking for a hassle-free PC set up. Thank you, Yoyo-tech!

Old SSD installed in my new computer

I am writing to share a shocking experience with my Yoyotech computer that I bought around 5 years ago. At the time, they offered decent value for the spec I wanted and I was able to pick the computer up from Basingstoke to save the shipping cost

When my computer wouldn’t boot recently, I took it into a local IT repair shop. They found that it was a problem with the SSD and they informed me that the SSD they found installed wasn’t new. It had been reconditioned even though I bought a new computer

Absolutely shocking and illegal behaviour on the part of Yoyotech. I can’t find my original receipt or I might have taken them to trading standards

YoYo Tech - This is how good companies fail. Too much focus on shipping and front line revenue and not enough on a solution, to customer problems.

This is a wake up call to YoYo tech. I have been a customer for 15+ years now. I bought my first bespoke PC 15 years ago and it is still running - brilliantly put together and still works perfectly.

The last Tower PC I bought however is a different matter. Great sales guy on the phone told him my specifications and they built it - everything was going to be great, although I did sense at that stage that it was all about the sale - it just seemed a bit too pushy.

I suspected that the move out of central London was so that they could scale up the business and I think this was a concern whether they would keep the same quality and friendly attitude / service.

When the Tower arrived I had paid a profession IT guy to unpack it and set it up out of the box. The first thing he said was that the unit had been dropped, as one of the footings was bent out of shape and this was typically the cause. There were some screen issues with what I wanted the PC to do i.e. connect to play off two TV's from HDMI outlets. The IT expert I hired spent a lot of time with their tech support to fix this and we never got it working properly - but I gave up on this aspect of functionality (even though it wos part of the spec I had worked out with the IT guy - I even gave YoYo Tech the make and model of both TV's) as i established a different work around.

After a while the back of the PC started clicking and lighting up periodically. I put up with this for several months, as if i rebooted the machine it would stop clicking. After a while i got fed up and shot a video of the back of the pc.

At the time I had three young children so as anyone knows in this situation you are time poor. Thing don't get done when you would like. So when I sent the recording to Yo Yo tech support they said it was outside warranty. I then had several back and forth emails to prove that the time stamp on the video was within the warranty period.

This is when I started to get the impression that there is no profit for YoYo tech in spending time fixing things, unless they absolutely have to - the strategy as i can see it is to flip problems back to the customer and then get them to chase the manufacturer of the components. The other issue was that they just want to shut things down and not find a solution. To me time is more important than money so I'd be happy to pay for a new part - I just need my PC to work - but Yo Yo tech seem to want to outsource any problem they feel they are not responsible for to you.

This is fine if you have a degree in Computer Science or feel happy taking components out of the back of a PC. Which I would say I am not.

They are not open on Saturdays so it was not possible for me to drive from London to Basingstoke to have them look at the PC and taking a day off work seemed pointless.

Their tech people told me to remove the sound card from the computer and to send it to them. So i brought the large PC to a local PC repair shop and paid them to do it.

Unfortunately, it took me until i had some downtime when my kids went on their summer holidays to get around to sending off the part to Yo Yo tech. It was returned immediately (without a phone call) but just an email saying that too much time had passed and they now recommended that I take this up with the manufacturer of the component and I should know who this is as it is written on the component.

I spoke with them on the phone today to complain about the whole process and they were frankly not interested, instead saying that they had send me an email recommending that I take this up with the manufacturer of the component.

I have am now washing my hand of YoYo tech forever. I suspect that they have some brilliant people working for them and no doubt that all industries have their challenges - but something is broken in the firm. Or by necessity, cost, state of the markets etc., this is how they need to run their business i.e. they provide bespoke hardware to retail customers - however they should warn that a highly technical knowledge of PC hardware and components is required if something goes wrong - and plenty of time on your hands to chase down the manufacturer. If i buy a washing machine i don't have to take out a component and go to the manufacturer of the component to get them to fix this, and if a new component was required I might just pay for the new component. These aren't options with YoYoTech - or at least not put forward in the discussions I have had with them.

In summary;
- extremely poor customer / after sales service
- a high level of arrogance from the person I was dealing with
- I would happily meet their CEO in Central London to discuss my thoughts on the company and how they can improve, or at least try to understand why by necessity they have to behave in this way.
- Think they are too focused on the sale and not providing solutions in after sales
- In summary I am very disappointing and this is probably the first time I have ever complained about any company. Its definitely the first time I have gone online to do it.

YoYo Tech - amazing service

YoYo Tech - are excellent!!
My husband bought his hi-spec computer from them some years ago (it was built specifically to his specification) - great service.

Moreover, recently my husband sent his computer in for servicing - it was badly damaged by UPS in transit - YoYoTech repaired all of the damage without charge and really quickly - amazing!!

Can't praise them highly enough - thank you YoYo Tech!!

Great customer service pre-sale

Great customer service pre-sale. PC arrived as arranged and on time. Slight issues with non-essential programmes not working but generally everything worked well out of the box. Tends to get hot but that's to be expected as I use it for VR gaming. The only reason they dropped a star was due to the fact that after sales service wasn't nearly as good as pre-sales service despite the fact that I had purchased the best service package available.

Over The Moon

I recently started to upgrade my PC with an ASUS X99 motherboard. In fact the board was purchased back in Nov 2015 as it was discounted B stock item. It came with a 90 day warranty from the suppliers Ebuyer.
Early May this year I went ahead and purchased a processor and memory for the board. I disassembled my older PC and assembled the new one ,only to find I was getting a memory error displayed on the motherboard LED. Various configurations of memory installation were tried but the problem persisted. I was advised by Ebuyer to take the board to a PC repair centre ,so I took the board with memory and processor to a local vendor. Unfortunately the were unable to give any firm solutions but did say the processor may have been faulty. I had the processor sent back RMA to Ebuyer but I was still needed to establish if the board and memory. Asus do not deal with the public direct and as the board was now out of warranty it was making the situation complicated.
I then remembered YOYO Tech from some time ago as I had purchased a graphics card from their shop in London. A quick call soon established that they could test my board and memory , I just needed to send or drop the board into their premises. A few days later I went personally to their business premises near Basingstoke. They remembered our phone conversation but I was quite surprised that they decided to look at the board there and then and not in a couple of days as I was expecting. They tested the board with their own memory and processor and concluded that either the board was faulty or the BIOS need updating, so after a BIOS update the board was working correctly and not only had they got my board working they did not charge me anything! What excellent service.
A processor was subsequently delivered and my PC is now running with the newish X99 board, processor and memory. Thanks to the team at YOYO Tech.

Order not completed

Order not completed. I ordered a product through their website which they delivered to the wrong address. They said they would resend it two days later. After waiting around all morning I found out that they sent it to the wrong address again. I then found out that after the original email they sent an email to the delivery company asking for it to be returned to them. Yoyotech then lied and said it was the deliver company's fault. Wasted a week and took another five days for the refund to be processed. Very bad service. I would strongly recommend not using them as a vendor.

Great customer service!

I ordered a motherboard from here. This was my first dealings with the company. The site could be streamlined a little more but overall had no troubles placing my order.
Tracking number was sent to me. I followed it up and saw the item was being sent to my billing address and not the shipping address I stated. I phoned as soon as I could and spoke to a very friendly chap who apologised for the issues and quickly rectified the problem.
Needless to say, the item arrived at the correct destination and all was well.
Thanks very much! Would use again and recommend without hesitation.

v good. why such low score?!?!

I'm really not sure why almost all other reviews on this site are so terribly scored for yoyotech..... ok, so the total time between order and delivery was a little longer than I anticipated, approx 3 weeks I think. But they did have to process the order, build the tower to my specification, and send it out. My opinion is that 3 weeks is absolutely not an unreasonable time frame.

Customer service were very friendly and helpful on the phone when I called with a query, and also when they called me due to a discrepancy with my delivery address. (Which when I returned their call I discovered that, because I was having the tower delivered to a business address, I needed to have disclosed the business name, which was not listed on the post office's databases. BUT after being unable to find the address they managed to find a work around for it and were able to send it anyway) I was extremely pleased!

Now, someone out there may think "well, why didn't they just do this 'work around' before calling?", well I'm sure they have protocols to observe, and obviously wanted to send the package to the right address, they were just doing their job.

Ultimately, my new computer arrived exactly as was advertised. With my custom specification all in working order. The CPU was overclocked as advertised (for free). The only issue I can take with the condition of the machine is that the upper-most panel on the top of the machine (where the roof-fan vents) doesn't seem to lock into place very well, but I can only imagine after examination that this is a fundamental fault with the tower itself, and nothing to do with YoyoTech. Nothing is broken up there. And it doesn't cause any problems, not even aesthetically.

And finally, the price. Wow, the price. All the important hardware that I ordered inside this machine (cpu, gpu) was at least one tier better than the next best machine I could build over the internet with a different company (dino...something I think). And for approx. £650, it was absolutely unbeatable. I certainly couldn't buy the components separately and build it myself for cheaper (just in case anyone reading this is interested the original system is the 'warbird RS10 Skylake' (base price £599), upgraded GPU to AMD Radeon R9 380 4GB, and comes with, as standard, CPU: intel i5 6600K 3.5GHz, overclocked to 4.4GHz, as standard!!! (See!! Damn good for the price!!! ...and a couple other upgrades too. Includes windows 10)). Runs the latest games 40-60fps on (on aaaalmost all) settings set to ultra. No issues whatsoever (other than the obligatory windows OS-related ones).

After having the system for about 2 months now, I can say that I'm damn pleased with my purchase, and would certainly recommend this company (and system, for pc gaming noobs like me) to anyone looking to buy computer tech. 5 stars! Thanks YoyoTech.

Shocking Management of Stock and Customer Notification

Order a £205 Graphics card from them on the 30th of November 2015 which was promptly followed up by "This item will not be delivered for 4-6 weeks is this OK?" e-mail to which i responded yes, as I was in no rush and it was an excellent offer.

The money was promptly removed from my account a few days after via Paypal.

To my surprise I check my paypal e-mail earlier today to see a cancellation has been issued from Yoyotech on my order. Wondering if there has been some mistake I e-mail their sales team to be forwarded on an e-mail that was apparently sent me to me Tuesday the 15th of Dec...

Addressed to completely the wrong e-mail.

I find it absolutely shocking that a company is taking orders on such expensive pieces of equipment and not being able to fulfill the order. Then failing to notify their customers accurately or in a more timely fashion.

I would not recommend dealing with them on this basis alone and know that I will be steering well clear of them in the future.

Disappointed with PC

I ordered my new PC from Yoyotech, all my enquiries were dealt with in a professional manner, sales team were good and very helpful, as to were customer service. I felt confident in ordering from Yoyotech, so went ahead and Purchased the pc. Pc arrived on time, so all wasgood and I was happy.
Packaging was good, so another plus point.
This where it starts to go wrong. I looked at the pc to inspect it, to find the back of the casing where the screw holes are, around the hole the metal was dented in, I then began to connect all wires to pc, all ok there, I started pc up, then the power button on top of the pc, kept on sticking in, which would result in the pc powering up and then off again, as it was stuck, eventually I got it to start up, got to desktop screen and after 10 mins, a blue screen showed up and pc crashed, this happened all over the weekend, I found out it was a hardware problem, for a new pc I thought this was pretty bad. After only 3 days of owning this pc, I ended up sending the pc back for a full refund, I have had custom made pcs before and the last one I had from another company lasted 7 years with no problems , but this one only lasted 3 days.
The company is not a bad company just that the pc I was sold was poor quality.
I can rate their customer service as good
I can rate their sales as good but the quality of the components used in their pcs, don't seem to be up to scratch.

Run by Professionally Trained Idiots

Ordered a HD7870 2GB VTX3D Eyefinity - VX7870 2GBD5-6D Graphics Card on 30/10/2014, said it was despatched on 31/10/2014.
Phoned them on 7/11/2014 asking where it was and because they are such a multinational company now, it had not left the warehouse, so the first email was in fact, a LIE...Maybe if they took less time dealing with the big Companies, M&S, Ebuyer, etc and dealt with their Bread and Butter orders, they might actually be a good company to deal with...Should have known never to deal with them again after the mix up with my PC System.....I will never use them again, ever

Awful Service!

I purchased a Corsair H100 from YoYoTech and after a week or so the pump started to make a loud noise. This problem is a well known problem. I recorded a video footage of the problem on my phone and took this to the store and showed one "tech" guys. They said that it sounded like air bubbles had caused this problem and advised me to bring the unit and replace it. I went home on the same day and brought it back in. I was served by another guy, who said that this pump noise was normal and that he had one of these units in his PC and that is how it performed. I told him that i wasnt happy with this and i asked if i could RMA it through them. He said it would be a waste of time because, if they don't see a fault, then Corsair won't see the fault. He then said that it will INEVITABLE be returned back to me with additional cost. I therefore decided to RMA directly through Corsair. After a couple of days they accepted that it was a problem and I sent the unit to be tested and again, they accepted it was faulty and sent me a replacement.

Such appauling service from YoYoTech. It's pretty obvious that they have hired staff that don't exactly know what they are on about.
