Awful
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Your Colorful Home Interiors (formerly Color Conscious Living).
One of the reasons I chose to order items through this designer was the understanding that products would be received, checked, and delivered in the proper condition. However, most items were never even opened for inspection before being delivered to me. This left me responsible for dealing with concerns about expensive products that had remained unopened.
When I asked questions about concerns and returns, I found the process confusing, inconsistent, and deeply adversarial. Dates and requirements were repeatedly presented in ways that made it difficult to understand what options were available. When I requested assistance with a return, the request was denied. I now have an unusable chandelier untouched from her (delayed) delivery having spent over $3,000.
I expressed my concern with her refusal, among many other issues, and then, instead of addressing issues, backordered items that I had purchased were canceled without my consent. At the same time, she offered a return on a less expensive item and a couple of hundred dollars as compensation. When I pointed out that this did not address the broader issues, I suggested that we pursue free third-party mediation so we could work toward a fair outcome.
Unfortunately, instead of engaging in mediation or continuing to navigate the issues, she withdrew her offer, refused to engage in meaningful communication, and the outstanding issues remained unresolved.
I ultimately sought assistance through New York State consumer channels. Instead of engaging thoughtfully and with the intention of seeking resolution, she made statements during the dispute that did not match my experience or the documented communications. While the representatives I spoke with expressed serious concern about her behavior, they explained that there was little they could do because meaningful mediation requires both parties to come to the table and participate in good faith.
She consistently states that the discrepancy is because I wanted her to address renovation and installation issues--this is false. I simply want her to address issues related to, orders, delivery, and upholding agreements.
To date, none of my concerns have been resolved. After investing significant time, money, and trust into this project, I was left with unresolved issues and no workable path forward.
If you are considering working with this business, I strongly recommend getting every responsibility, inspection procedure, return policy, and dispute-resolution process clearly documented in writing before making any purchases.
