On Saturday 15th we had a girls night out for a friends birthday meal when we were all talking about how we met, we realised it was down to Jennie at Ingsgarth community centre. What a lovely little place with such wonderful people all made possible by Jennie and her warm welcome.
Nothing is ever to much trouble for Jennie everyone of us has had help from her at some point wether it be housing related, sign posted to other charities or financial agencies she has gone above and beyond. She never ever makes you feel like you are taking up her time or she doesn’t want to help. If she doesn’t know the answers she will go away and find them. She is the heart and soul of the community. Jennie you are Amazing

I met Jennie for the first time yesterday at Ingsgarth Community Centre i was told by my neighbours to introduce my elderly mum (who is thinking of moving in with me) to the community centre but was told to make sure I took her on a Tuesday to coffee morning tea and toast. Omg how glad was i that i did. The welcome off the lady when we walked in ( Who i later found out was Jennie ) was amazing not just to my mum but myself.
She introduced herself, told us what she did, what was on at the centre on each days, showed us round the centre.
She then introduced my mum to every person in the centre and she knew every one in there by name that really surprised me. You could just tell it had a lovely warm family feel. Everybody was talking to Jennie like a friend, laughing ang joking, there were lots of elderly people like my mums age 80s and they all spoke so highly of Jennie. Before I knew it my mum was sat with a cup of tea playing bingo and chatting.
My mum had a few questions to ask with regards to moving in about tenancy details etc, this was not a problem for Jennie she took my mums details and promised to get bad to her she was so interested when talking to my mum and had time and patience that's rare these days, so thank you Jennie my mum had a great day, by the end of the session Jennie got back to my mum as promised with all the answers

Can I just give a massive Thank You to Jennie Sharp from Ingsgarth Community Centre, On Saturday night 13 of us went out for my birthday meal and all realised we got to know each other through Jennie and her hard work at the community centre. Jennie is the heart and soul of that little community centre and works so hard to keep everybody together. Has soon as she walks in somebody wants to talk to her about things that aren’t even probably her job role, repairs, antisocial behaviour, rehousing, relationship problems. Jennie never ever says I don’t have time or I am busy. She sits and listens, follows up on outstanding repairs….. gets them done faster to be honest!
The older generation love to see her she knows everyone of them by name what everyone of them drink how they like it. She always chats with them. If for some reason Jennie isn’t there people always ask where she is, if she’s ok, when will she be back?
Jennie is always so positive and is an absolute asset to Yorkshire housing you should have her has your poster girl to promote what working at Yorkshire housing should be like, happy, positive and always willing to go above and beyond and never afraid to work over your time slot…… others could learn from that😂 so a MASSIVE thank you to JENNIE SHARP for introducing me to the warmth and friendliness of Ingsgarth Community Centre and all my lovely friends

Leaving a review for Caitlin at Yorkshire Housing, very helpful advisor. She went over and above to assist with my enquiry on the spot, I felt listened to and not fobbed off, she was super kind and courteous.

Things take too long to fix. Not able to get fixed yourself which would take a lot less time than the average time frame of 2 years in my situation for things to be finally resolved.
In process of waiting for things to be fixed my items are damaged for example a double oven due to food allergies and yet the insurance company blame me for not holding a bowl under a bathroom leak that took 4 and 1/2 years to fix. Only offered £100 to get rid of me. Took over a year to be offered that.
Constantly having to chase things yet I’m sent information about the legal timeframe to get things done in which in my situation takes over 6 months each time. No one communicates to you and even if you put a complain in no one gets back to you.
As my toilet is pouring water into the basin as it’s classed as contained the earliest appointment is in 3 weeks and advised not to use the toilet. Even though as I have disabled occupants and we are advised we are on a priority list. (I don’t believe one exists.)
A wooden plank fell off the wall whilst my child was asleep and with that the wall has fallen in a child’s room and she can’t sleep in there due to being a health hazard. We’ve now had her sleeping with us for the last 6 months. Yet no contact or communication. Even though this has been chased for 3 times so far. I’ve been advised it’s set as a matter of urgency.
It seems to me they have bitten more than they can chew and it’s a case of shut up and put up.
However all customer service people go above and beyond to help and listen and I appreciate their hands are tied. I don’t blame them and this being said is reason why I put the two stars that I gave.
But it seems like they’re happy for you to rent but not available to maintain whilst living there. They use to be good. But now not putting the money into the correct places.

When the solar panels were installed we were told by the surveyor to get the shrubs cut down as they block the sunlight. Told housing early February, they did a survey and agreed. I phoned to get a date only to be told they cancelled. Reinstated the request. Then told to wait till September, birds nest season. Yes we agreed, now I made a new request 24th Sept, told by Gurpreet Matharou he will keep me informed. Today 27th Oct. we find out the job has been cancelled again so NO update available. Why do you keep cancelling the job yet you tell us to be patient?
