Admitted after a very nasty fall. The service I received was excellent. Was in for 11 days and all the staff were caring and very professional.

After my wife had major abdominal surgery 2weeks ago we have had to come to A&E yesterday and today the treatment is appalling we have been told could be 8 hour wait how can someone who has had major surgery be kept waiting like that in pain
Totally unprofessional conduct by the receptionist.
I was at the counter, wanted to find out some information.
A female staff member, who incidentally, still works there, chose to completely ignore me and continued scratching her lotto tickets instead of doing what she is paid to do, ie, to approach me and help me with my line of enquiry.
I was there standing right infront of her. Either she was totally inept or maybe discriminating against me because I am of Indian heritage?
I truly don't know. I can only come to this conclusion because of the high number of racial incidents in York.
I was so enraged, I could not even articulate myself. I left.
I made a complaint to York Hospital. A Ms Sharp contacted me to look into my complaint but I never heard from her again, despite sending another message in August last year.
Granted they may have not received it, but they did receive one of my messages, otherwise they would not have replied to to it.
I will be sending a copy of this email to the Qualities Care Commission.
I feel they probably buried my complaint. Ms Sharp from her initial contact stated that she couldn't find the incident on their cameras. To that, I am now saying..."how convenient!"
For a hospital, who claims to be inclusive in their manifesto, I feel, the opposite maybe more accurate.
