Yellohire Van Rental

Booked van hire with them. Price advertised on website not the price you get when you phone to confirm the booking.

Turned up at rental site only to be told van had a flat battery and couldn’t start plus no replacement available. When asked for refund of deposit paid was told needed to contact Yellohire as rental site were just used by them.

After several attempts to contact by phone, eventually got through by using the new hire number. After explaining what had happened with van, was told deposit would be refunded that day. No refund was made and phoned next day to be told refund within 24 hours. That was 9th January and still no refund made.

Tried to contact by phone again but no response and then tried email address provided on rental agreement but it does not work.

Now a fortnight after deposit paid for a non- existent hire and no refund. Tracked down another email address which has not bounced requesting return of the deposit, but surprise there has been no response!

This company is a scam. DO NOT USE.

Disgusting company- do not touch them!!
These people are scammers. If only I had read the reviews before I booked. They send no paperwork and no address of pick up. They finally answered the phone and told us our hire was from europcar. When we got there we weren't booked in until 12.00 even though we were told and I quote "get there as early as possible so that we can then go home", giving the impression that they had their own premises. All lies !! We ended up having to pay more than double the quote and forget about the deposit we paid, we'll never see that again. Europcar said never to use these people and only ever book direct. They should be shut down.

I did a quote and went to confirm it…

I did a quote and went to confirm it only to get the message :"This domain name registration has expired and has now been suspended " . I guess that this means the business has ceased trading so I'm lucky I hadn't parted with any money. Luckily I've managed to get a better booking with Europcar.

Book direct company seems to be no longer in business.

Had one rental from them years ago and was good but tried again and they’ve left me with no van, no one on the phones but an old covid message, 5 emails to both admin and sales and no reply.

I made the booking a week and 5 days in advance so ample amount of time for them to find me one.

Assuming the company is no longer running but still taking deposits.

Avoid and just book direct.

AVOID. No service, no refund, uncontactable

Yellohire owe me a refund, but are uncontactable. I booked a van online, which involved paying £42 up-front. Upon completing this process, the screen said they would confirm within a working day. No details of pickup were provided. This made me nervous, as I had expected immediate confirmation, and could not safely make plans that relied on having the van. I waited 24 hours, but still received no confirmation. I phoned them, and got an answerphone. I emailed, requesting a full refund, but the email bounced back. They owe me £42.

Absolutely waste of time

Absolutely waste of time. Booked online, payed deposit, got confirmation of booking but where to collect the vehicle from NO INFO at all. Contacted company on Monday and for 4 days has been messed about and promised to be contacted back regarding my booking. End up booking with someone else.

I booked a van from here to move home…

I booked a van from here to move home in May. The booking was messed up and I had to book a different company on the day of the move.
I was promised a full refund - I was still waiting for it in November!
I have emailed numerous times but still nothing!

Thanks to the efforts of one employee who went above and beyond his duties, I finally got my refund sorted out.

BAIT AND SWITCH PRICING ttempted to get a quote initially was…

Attempted to get a quote initially was alluring at 50 pounds a day for van on website then an invoice is produced at 50 pounds with no confirmation of the reservation waiting all say then phone them the price has gone up by 100 pounds .in a few hours then quizzed the the chap on the phone as to why is there descrepency .the man was rude aggressively stated we will send you an invoice new without explaining why the price has changed and hung up on me ..rude customer service bait and switch pricing dodgy smell a rat .

I rented a 9 seater Tourneo for a…

I rented a 9 seater Tourneo for a couple of days last half term to get away from the kids (to get away with the kids) to the lake district. Yello managed to find one in Putney when no one else could even with a weeks notice.

A pricing mess and no customer service

In Sept 2021 I hired a van from Direct Van Hire / Yellohire at a reasonable price as offered by a charming telephone salesman. HOWEVER. The price quoted over the phone was different from the price confirmed by email and both were different from the price Europcar asked for at pick-up. Yellohire took a deposit which was not accounted for on any of the hire documents. All attempts to resolve this failed; they ignored my requests for clarification (and refund) and only gave short unsatisfactory answers when I threatened to write this review of their service. They never did sort it and had no interest in my satisfaction, obviously counting on me to drop it. I will not do business with them again.

Great guys / company esp Crieghton

Sorry this was the wrong Yello! These guys are actually superb as it happens and I got a lovely call from Crieghton who explained it was wrong company and he was great - even though he has a strange sounding name! Great guy.

Even offered to sort me out with a good price on hire if required in UK - and it wasn't even their fault in the least. I'm the one who should be apologising! LOL

ZERO STAR RATING - DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SCAMMERS. THEY DO NOT HIRE VANS. THEY TAKE A BROKER FEE. IT IS NOT FOR THE VAN HIRE. THEY DIRECTED THE RENTAL TO SIXT WHO DENIED ALL KNOWLEDGE OF BEING AFFILIATED WITH YELLO AND ADVISED NOT TO CONTACT IN FUTURE. ABSOLUTELY NO DANGER OF THAT EVER.

On 22.12 21 you failed to declare that you had received 2 bans on your licence within the last 10 years . Today ( 29.12.21 ) you have finally admitted that you failed to declare 2 DR10's ( drink driving ) you committed in 2015, because you believed them to be no longer relevant. I asked you on more than one occasion if you had points or disqualifications in the last 10 years. The bans were only discovered when the branch ran the standard DVLA check as they will with all potential hirers. We have been charged one days rentals on the vehicle.

Didn't realise it was an agency untit it was too late

Made booking through an agency without realising. Experience was nice at first but then things changed. Additional fees kept coming 1. additional driver is twice the cost than direct from hire company. I wasn't informed when I made the booking, despite specifically saying it was required. 2. The 'included milage' is less than half the amount than direct from hire company.

Go direct, save money and have a much better experience. Do not use yellohire.

Update: Yellohire have said this is a fake review and done by a competitor. This is not a false review. My booking reference is YCH-00165935. Everything I have stated is factually acurate.

Disgusting company

I made a booking with them they dont explain they are a third party company had to go to sixth which they didnt tell you. I had points they didnt ask me if I had points and when I went to collect the car sixth said no as I had points. Then yellohire said they would refund me, I contacted them 5 times each time they said it was being processed still no refund.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY PLEASE.

Sixt charged us for a days rental and the balance was refunded to you. We asked if you had any points on your licence and you said no. Had you told us you had 9 points we wouldn't have taken your booking.

One star is too high a rating. Turned up to find the rental company had no booking and no available vans. Yellohire tried to blame the rental firm but I was kindly shown all confirmed bookings by the rental firm. One month on and I’m still waiting for the deposit to be refunded.
I received a phone call and apology from Easirent but I’m still awaiting a refund?? My contract was with Yellohire and my payment made to Yellohire.

This review was correct when it was posted and therefore not libellous. I suggest speaking with a solicitor before publicly accusing anyone of libel
I have been refunded now however the length of time taken and the multiple phone calls by myself is disgraceful.
I would still never use this company again.

EasiRent have admitted that it was their error and have said that they will be contacting you to apologise. You have been refunded and the branch have admitted the fault was all theirs - therefore the review is wrong and therefore libellous.
