New Internet banking is crap

Always had a great service from the bank. Happy and helpful. I used to use the internet banking a lot but with the new system I just want to through my tablet down the throat of the gimp who thought it was better than the old, perfectly good, workable, understandable and one hell of a lot easier to use, system.

I am now going to change my bank after…

I am now going to change my bank after 43 years. This new on line and improved banking system is a joke and not a funny one. You have to wait 2/3 days for any money moving transactions to be visible. This system is not fit for purpose. What a complete farce. The poor advisors must be absolutely fed up. Not their fault though. Some heads higher up the chain need to roll.

The new internet banking system is a joke!

The new internet banking system is useless. When it was first released I flagged important problems that I incurred. I was assured via chat that these would be dealt with before the old system was cut off. Now it has been cut off and these problems still remain! It's bad enough that my 'local' branch is now over 20 miles away, without internet banking having serious issues that mean I have to constantly keep logging on to check that scheduled payments have actually been made as there is no unique reference attached to the payment now when you submit.

Its worse than that.........

After trialling the new on line banking service a good while back, I had reverted back to using the original system because the replacement was so awful. Like everyone else I got the message telling me that the old system was going off line on the 10th Sept.
The new on-line site is a total car crash, It is utterly useless, how in this day and age can a new system like this get signed off as being fit for purpose, when they are obviously aware of all the problems and issues with it?
Even worse is the attitude of the staff in the call centre, implying that I might not be using the correct browser, or that I might not be navigating the site properly!
Who is the genius in YB business development who decided to close nearly all the branches and then provide its customers with an online service that just does not work?
Think I might have to revert to keeping my money in a shoe box under the bed............. It worked for Ken Dodd

Totally shambolic new internet site

Totally shambolic new internet site. Why try to re-invent the wheel when the old system was so good and reliable. The boffins who created the new website should be sacked and the CEO dismissed for gross incompetence in signing off this new website.
I don't know who the 4 good reviews were from, probably from YB staff members I would suspect.

Nightmare

Have to agree with previous reviews, the new app is a joke! Trying to run a business and all I get when trying to log into the app is error code! When you call the call centre and again spend time putting in your account number and sort code only to be told unfortunately due to circumstances out if their control they cannot answer the phone! It’s a call centre and frankly not got enough when you can’t even sort your banking online, not helpful when your trying to pay invoices. Never had problems before they changed it

Unfortunately I cannot award zero stars…

Unfortunately I cannot award zero stars for this appalling online banking service. Reiterate what other people have commented upon, why change from the old system that actually worked to one that’s utterly useless. I have just spent 10 minutes on the phone to the YB fraud department trying to undo a duplicated transfer transaction due to glitchy software. The first YB telephone personal agreed with me that the new system is useless and the person from the fraud department extolled the benefits of the new system. According to them is more user friendly, is easier to use and offers more customer benefits. No it doesn’t, why did it take so long to get through to someone on the phone at 11 o’clock at night, because the lines are busy with disgruntled YB online banking customers.

Yorkshire bank new internet banking is terrible.

Yorkshire bank new internet banking is terrible.
Can’t transfer money from my savings account to current account to pay bills. I had 45 people on my payee list and now have 5. Told I would have to go to my Branch to change savings accounts to a different account. As my Branch was closed down I would have to go to another branch which would take myself and wife around 60 minutes. Told them I will go to another bank to open an account instead. Sorry to hear that is there anything else I can help you with was the reply. N0. Never had a problem with old system, so after 35 years of loyalty always having money in accounts I think it’s time to leave.

If it's not broken, don't 'fix'it!

So, you sensibly build a new online banking system (nothing wrong with the old system particularly) with the option to import payees, the only problem being it does't work?! I see, rather than do anything like bother to fix this, YB seem set close down 'existing banking' in the next few days... appalling in all ways.

Agree with all recent posts

Agree with all recent posts. New website no improvement. Don't have a Smartphone so cant use the App and wouldn't want to anyway. Rang CS to be told I could have a new token for making payments over £500. Why wasn't this option published. Now I will not have it before the old website closes. And to use a token for all payments over £500 is ridiculous. Another point is that I have an offset mortgage and so the credit total in the old website was useful vs the mortgage owed, they have neglected to put this in the new website. Idiots.

Incompetent and appalling customer service

If I hadn't had to make a phone call to the bank, I would never have discovered that they have set a date next week for switching off the old system. They haven't advised us of the date, nor have they sent out new tokens. So if I wanted to make a transfer next week, I wouldn't have been able to do so. Apparently they didn't realise that not all customers have smart phones, or that those who do have a smart phone don't necessarily want to do banking on them, and they've had to devise these new tokens in a rush. It's sheer incompetence, and now I'm at risk of not being able to transfer money next week because it's unlikely that I will have received the new tokens by the time they switch off the old system. And in spite of complaints, they're still making customers use the new token for micro-payments. So this afternoon I'm going to set the change-banks process in motion by closing one of my personal accounts and the other business accounts will follow.

Absolutely dreadful customer service…

Absolutely dreadful customer service from Yorkshire Bank who I have been with for over 40 years ! there was nothing wrong with the old YB Internet banking system. My experience has been payee accounts not being transferred across to new system and set up a standing order to pay on 1st of every month into a savings account for our granddaughter - it was working perfectly well until new system. Now it doesn't come out at all so I go in to standing orders and ask for it to come out on 1st of every month again but it doesn't happen. On line chat is also rubbish - there was nothing wrong with old messaging system where you could type in your question and get a reply - you could also see at a glance your old messages and delete once the problem/question had been sorted out. I wouldn't have given any stars at all but Trust Pilot requests that we do. Just wish someone at Yorkshire Bank were listening.

Wast of time and money

Having been forced to set up a mobile app just so i can make transfer payments i find i cannot even get it to register it just stops on verify your details !!!! i would have stopped with the old online banking system but they are shutting it down in September, I have been with Yorkshire bank for about forty years but i think that will change very shortly, whats the point of having a bank where you can't access your money easily.

New system far more complicated and…

New system far more complicated and less friendly than old system. I tried yesterday to set up one-off future dated payment successfully but took over 1 hour only to then find no immediate record of the transaction. Help agent told me to wait until next banking day to see it. Like others I was forced to set up mobile banking app rather than the security token which had worked well for a long time. Personally I do everything on PC and not really interested in mobile banking.

Tried using new online banking for transferring money

Tried using new online banking for Yorkshire bank, ridiculous non of my payees have transferred across, can’t use bill payment properly, rang them up and they were no use at all told me it was because I was using an old iPad, I got it new 2 months ago. They couldn’t help at all, why change something that worked very frustrating. Now I have to go to the home computer to do anything on the account, the reason I got the Yorkshire bank online on my iPad was to make it easier, looks like that ship has sailed, very disappointed and angry.

Is this progress or a backward step?

The new limits on daily transactions/payments are ridiculous.
£500 per payment is nowadays a small amount. It means that I now have to make 2 payments to clear my monthly credit card balance. A telephone conversation with the help desk was pointless. The lady seemed intent on steering me towards their mobile app. She said if I wanted a highler daily/payment limit I would need their new version of the secure token device but this would have to be used for every transaction.
A very disappointing start to the new system for me - a customer of 40 years who has used internet banking for at least 12 years

Why change something that wasn't broken, the old system was great easy to understand and could view my statement. You need an A level to understand the new system, come on yorkshire bank pull your finger out and make things simple.
